SCP: Secret Laboratory Guide 2024

SCP: Secret Laboratory is a Sci-fi, Horror, Multiplayer, Competitive game that swiftly changes and is one of the possibly most popular SCP based multiplayer games in the world. Although, this game is very unforgiving to new players and doesn't go on much about the Weapons, SCP Objects, Facility and most of the basic game play mechanics. Yeah you can watch a YouTube video on a guide for SCP: Secret Laboratory but even those don't tell you much.

This guide goes through the basics of the game and also goes through a lot of other extra things in depth, highly recommended for new players or players that wanna have a chance to maybe learn something new about the game that they don't know of yet.

Anyways in summary.
-------------------------------
SCP:Secret Laboratory changes very swiftly.
SCP:Secret Laboratory requires a microphone to communicate with players.
SCP:Secret Laboratory does not have a tutorial and you have to watch, read a guide or learn the game yourself.
The community in the SCP:Secret Laboratory is toxic as hell so make sure you are mentally prepared for this game.
-------------------------------
Anyways onto the guide.
Story | Roles
One of the SCP:Foundation sites(Site-02 respectively) are having a containment breach. Most of the SCPs in the Site have escaped their containment now terrorising the facility killing any personnel they stumble upon.

Facility Guard
Facility Guards are a supportive role to the Nine-Tailed Fox and spawn at the start of every round unlike Nine-Tailed Fox which spawn later in the game as waves. Their main objective is to stop any Class-D or unauthorised personnel from entering/exiting the facility whilst of course aiding Scientists in escaping at the same time, they must also keep the SCPs at bay until the well equipped Nine-Tailed Fox arrive and do the rest of the job which is recontaining the SCPs.

Nine-Tailed Fox
As the facility is on lockdown a squad of Nine-Tailed Fox: Heavily and well equipped soldiers enters the facility. The main objectives of the Nine-Tailed Fox is to terminate or escort any personnel such as Scientists and Class-D to the exits, recontain any loose SCPs and terminate any unauthorised personnel.

Chaos Insurgency
On the other side of the coin there is the Chaos Insurgency which are the opposing team to the Foundation having their main objectives as aiding Class-D in escaping the facility (and Scientists sometimes) and neutralising the SCPs in the facility taking the site over.

Class-D
Class-D are prisoners that spawn in Light Containment Zone, the zone furthest away from the exits. They spawn with nothing and must search LCZ to find a keycard and use SCP-914 to upgrade it and escape the facility.

Scientist
Scientists are similar to Class-D although they are obviously not prisoners and are actually a part of the foundation. Their main objective is to escape as soon as possible whilst avoiding or attempting to aid the Nine-Tailed Fox/Facility Guards in recontaining the loose SCPs.
SCPs | Objects
SCP-207 | "Cola Bottles"

SCP-207 is a glass bottle of coca cola having nothing strange about it's appearance rather it's the actual substance that is anomalous. Upon consuming at least one bottle of SCP-207 the player will receive a speed boost which can be stacked (I believe a max of 3-4 SCP-207s can be drank) to become even faster however in return the player slowly loses health so having healing equipment is recommended when using SCP-207.

SCP-018 | "Super Ball"

SCP-018 is a small red bouncy ball that seems normal at first however upon throwing it the ball will quickly gain speed to the point it can obliterate any SCP or human within a second. Throwing SCP-018 in an elevator with an SCP is heavily recommended as the room is small and the SCP will be stuck in the room for a bit allowing the ball to kill or do a lot of damage to the SCP.

SCP-268 | "Cap of Neglect"

SCP-268 is a brown cap that as usual seems normal at first but upon use, putting the cap on will result in the user becoming invisible however any interactions other than movement will result in becoming visible again.

SCP-500 | "The Panacea"

SCP-500 appears to be a painkiller bottle having a red tint and a white cap with a large "SCP" watermark on it. SCP-500 is a very good item for healing any wounds and even most anomalous effects such as SCP-207, SCP-1853 and other effects with some having exceptions such as the decayed effect when in the pocket dimension (this does not mean you cant use the object to heal yourself in it, you can but it just wont make the decay effect go away until you either die or successfully escape the pocket dimension) and the traumatised effect given upon escaping the pocket dimension.

SCP-1853 | "Performance Enhancer"

SCP-1853 appears to be a small veil with a green somewhat radioactive looking substance inside. Upon use the object will grant the user increased speed on interactions such as using items like a medkit, reloading a weapon and many other. The object also lowers the amount of recoil the player has with every gun making the fire rate faster as well. It is heavily recommended to not use SCP-207 and SCP-1853 together.

SCP-2176 | "Ghostlight"

SCP-2176 at first appears to be an ordinary light bulb but upon throwing it into a room it will lockdown the room and turn off the lights in it for a few seconds, if the room is already locked down and the lights are off in it it will turn the lights back on and unlock the room. If SCP-2176 is thrown into the room SCP-079 is currently present in it will lose connection for 10 seconds. SCP-2176 is a good way to slow down enemies similar to flashbangs and grenades.

SCP-207-Anti | "Conta Cola"

SCP-207-Anti is a bottle of coca cola but well.. the overall color of it is blue, it's a glass bottle and the substance is pink instead of a dark color. Upon consumption of SCP-207-Anti the user will receive a speed decrease in return for AHP that will slowly increase until it reaches the max amount of AHP which is 75, if the user receives a lethal amount of damage the user will not die rather they will be left at 1 HP until they are damaged again or well.. actually live and if this does happen then the effects of SCP-207-Anti will now be gone as the main use of it has been used up. Basically in a better explanation SCP-207-Anti is good for when you have to fight a massive wave of Nine-Tailed Fox or Chaos Insurgency as it gives you AHP and some damage resistence not to mention you have a second chance to live if you are lucky enough. (SCP-207-Anti can also be stacked however I'm not sure what the max amount is but I believe it's 3.)

SCP-244 (A & B) | "Ice Fog Jar"

SCP-244-A and SCP-244-B have the same effect but just a different appearance SCP-244-A being the thick brown-ish one and SCP-244-B being the thin blue one. Upon usage SCP-244 will be placed on the ground letting out a small blue fog which causes any user that walks into it to receive the hypothermia effect. A lot of users are actually unhappy with this SCP and picture it as useless but it's a tactical SCP that is mainly meant to be used as an ambush SCP or an SCP to ruin some camping spots if placed in the right areas.

SCP-1576 | "Edisonian Afterlife Communicator"

SCP-1576 is an old black wooden box with many mechanical components coming out of it similar to an antique gramophone. Upon usage the box will let you talk to any spectators and hear any spectators, if the spectators are feeling generous they shall grant you with valuable information but this doesn't always happen so don't always rely on this SCP.

SCP-1344 | "Eye-Catching Goggles"

SCP-1334 appears to be a set of cyan colored goggles that look normal at first glance but looking closely enough reveals that two needles are place in each eye socket of the goggle. If a player puts on SCP-1344 a small pause before the goggles activating will happen and during this pause the goggles will be flipped up until they suddenly flip down stabbing the player's eyes with the needles in the sockets making the player go blind for a bit before regaining their vision but not completely. Upon activation SCP-1344 will allow the player to see anyone through walls using the same effect as SCP-1507's passive ability or SCP-096's enrage ability when someone views his face and becomes a target but rather than all the blips being red they are colored the corresponding role to the person being revealed.

When you get detected by a user wearing SCP-1344 you will hear a special sound, listen out for it as I can't exactly explain how it sounds in text.

Fun fact: SCP-1344's needles can be removed using the "Hide needles" setting in the settings menu in-game and main menu.
Event SCPs
Anniversary Event Exclusive SCPs

SCP-956 | "The Child Breaker"

SCP-956's is a pink unicorn pinata. SCP-956 is usually docile unless someone who has used SCP-559 or has candy in their inventory enters the room if someone who has either of these two enters the room SCP-956 will freeze the player before starting to slowly move towards the user, once it reaches the user it will wind back and then smash the person with a lot of force killing them in an instant. A pile of candy is left once a player is killed by SCP-956.

SCP-559 | "Birthday Time!"

SCP-559 appears to be a white cake with candles on each slice usually being on a white pedestal. If a user interacts with the cake a slice will be removed from the pedestal whilst giving the user the following effects: The player becoming small, the player's voice being high pitched, the player having more stamina and running faster.

Holiday Event Exclusive SCPs

SCP-2536 | "The Gift That Keeps On Giving"

SCP-2536 appears to be a Christmas tree with 5 presents under it. SCP-2536 appears in random areas of the map mostly in rooms where players are, the presents below the Christmas tree can give any random item in the game and different effects such as special ones like upgrading your guns, keycards and other items.
Playable SCPs
SCP-049 | "The Plague Doctor"

SCP-049 appears to be an old styled doctor with a white plague mask, he wears a dark cloak which has been proven to be a part of his actual body.

"Cardiac Attack"
A user can click on a human as SCP-049 to use the "Cardiac Attack" ability which upon usage inflicts the Cardiac Arrest effect on the target, the affected target will take damage overtime until they die or heal themselves enough.

"Resurrection"
After killing a player, SCP-049 can revive them by holding the "E" on the player's dead body turning them into an instance of SCP-049-02 which appears to be a zombie.

"Wast not, Want not"
If an instance of SCP-049-02 dies and the doctor is close enough and reach the dead instance before the revival timer runs out with the same treatment as a normal dead human body SCP-049 can revive the dead instance of SCP-049-02 bringing them back to life however he can only do this ONCE and beware that the player that died as an instance of SCP-049-02 can decline further resurrection.

"Good Sense of The Doctor"
If SCP-049 is chasing a player and is in direct line of sight of a target he may press the "F" key to enable this ability. Upon activation the target who was closest the SCP-049 will be marked for a bit until line of sight is broken again causing SCP-049 to become significantly faster allowing him to easily catch up to the target, this can also be used as a way to retreat quicker by just using the ability on someone and running away.

"The Doctor's Call"
If SCP-049 presses the "R" key he will hightlight as a pink dot for instances of SCP-049-02 allowing them to easily track the doctor and retreat to him, if an instance of SCP-049-02 is close enough to the doctor while this ability is active then they will begin to rapidly gain hume shield.

SCP-049-02 | "The Cured"

SCP-049-02 appears to be a zombie wearing a black jumpsuit.

"Swipe"
By pressing "LMB" SCP-049-02 can swipe attack a human inflicting 20-40 damage to them taking 3 full hits to kill a human with no AHP.

"Lobotomized Bloodlust"
If a player is in direct line of sight of a human a red icon will begin to fade in on the bottom center of the player's screen, once the eye fully fades in the instance of SCP-049-02 will gain a speed boost until line of sight is broken with them however beware that after breaking line of sight the effect does not instantly wear off it will fade out just as long as it fades in.

"Voracity"
Once a human is killed by the player or dies to anything else their corpse can be eaten by pressing the "E" key, the process of eating the corpse takes a while so it is recommended to only do it when no other human is around. Once the eating process is finished the player will receive 100 HP back.

SCP-106 | "The Old Man"

SCP-106 appears to be an elderly man having his body fully corroded and dark colored wearing a small dark ripped cloak on his back.

"Capture"
By pressing "LMB" the player can damage targets inflicting the "Corroding" effect on them, once the player hits the target again they will be sent to the Pocket Dimension.

"The Pocket Dimension"
The Pocket Dimension is where players captured by SCP-106 are sent to. The Pocket Dimension appears to be a small room with multiple hallways leading out of it into darkness, only two exits are present in the Pocket Dimension and are random everytime, if a target escapes the Pocket Dimension they will receive the "Traumatized" effect which causes the player to be instantly killed by SCP-106 once captured again instead of being put into the Pocket Dimension. If a target escapes the Pocket Dimension the exits will shuffle around and randomize.

"Stalk"
SCP-106 can go into "Stalk" mode by pressing the "L-Shift" key. Once SCP-106 presses the key the player will sink into the ground before fully disappearing having now being able to move around quicker and regenerating hume shield if any is lost.

In the current version of the 14.0 Public Beta SCP-106 gains a +20% speed boost once he exits stalk for 5 seconds.

"Hunter's Atlas"
By pressing the "TAB" key the player will open up a map of the layout, the more Vigor the player has the bigger his map becomes. SCP-106 can teleport to any of the rooms visible on his map by clicking on the room and will teleport specifically to the spot he clicked on in the room. (Most of the time)

Same as the stalk ability, upon emerging after teleporting from the hunter's atlas the player will gain a +20% speed boost for 5 seconds, this is again only available in the public beta right now and is subject to change.

SCP-939 | "With Many Voices"

SCP-939 appears to be a large red creature resembling somewhat of a dog with of course abnormal features being completely red being very aggressive and able to perform strange abilities. The gender of SCP-939 has been confirmed to be female. do with that information as you wish.

"Claw"
The player can inflict damage on their targets by pressing the "LMB" key damaging any target nearby, his claw ability has a small AoE meaning that any other targets that are close enough to the main target will also take damage but not as much as the main target.

"Ultrasensitive"
SCP-939's eyesight is very low however in return she's very sensitive to sounds, if any sound is emitted and is in the range of SCP-939's hearing the sound blips will appear as blips and can be seen through the walls, holding the "C" key as a human will cause the player to make no sounds when walking around but will make their movement speed significantly slower.

"Focus"
If the player holds the "C" key they will begin to crouch down quickly draining their movement speed until they are fully crouched down and prepared to Lunge, the player will hear sounds from a lot further away and the sound blips emitted from the targets will actually be colored as the same color of class the target is.

"Lunge"
The player can lunge at a target after fulling crouching down, if the player lunges at a target and successfully hits it 120 damage will be inflicted on the target and anyone close to the main target will receive small AoE damage.

"Amnestic Cloud"
SCP-939 can release a small AoE known as the "Amnestic Cloud" which will cause any target that walks into it to receive the "Amnesia" effect making SCP-939 invisible to the target until SCP-939 attacks or the target exits the cloud and loses the effect after a small amount of time.

Upon entering the cloud as a human a dark screen overlay will appear in the border of the player's screen until they exit the cloud and the effect fully wears off. Beware that upon exiting the cloud the "Amnesia" effect does not wear off instantly and takes a bit of time before it disappears.

Sprint
SCP-939 is the only SCP that has the ability to sprint however the ability to sprint is very short but quite fast, make sure to plan out how your going to ambush your targets and do not waste your sprint as it's very useful.

"Mimicry"
The community favorite ability of SCP-939 is the ability to mimic sounds from the game such as gun firing sounds, human footsteps, other scp noises and many other actions such as eating candy, drinking SCP-207, ect but the best part is the ability to steal voices from past victims and mimic their voices also being able to trim the stolen voice lines if the voiceline is too long.

In addition to this ability the player can place a "Mimic Point" that will emit the sounds from it rather than the player itself.
Playable SCPs Pt.2
SCP-173 | "The Sculpture"

SCP-173 appears to be a large deformed sculpture with traces of kraylon brand spray paint on it.

"Snap"
The player can attack targets by pressing the "LMB" key on the target instantly killing the target by snapping their neck at the base of their skull.

"Blink"
Once a player begins to look at SCP-173 a 2.5s timer will begin with the timer starting higher the more people look at it, SCP-173 can move around while being looked at by using the "RMB". Holding "RMB" will show a red highlight of SCP-173's model which indicates where the player is going to teleport to once the player releases the "RMB".

"Breakneck Speeds"
The player can activate this ability by pressing the "L-Shift" key, upon activation the player will become significantly faster and be able to teleport a lot further when being looked at however during this mode the player cannot kill anyone.

"Tantrum"
The player can place a puddle of faeces on the ground below where the player is currently standing slowing down any player that walks through it making it easier to run away or catch targets.

SCP-096 | "The Shy Guy"

SCP-096 appears to be a tall humanoid creature with abnormally long arms and legs having it's jaw able to be opened up very wide.

"Scopophobia" - Passive (an anxiety disorder characterized by an excessive fear of being stared at in public or stared at by others.)
SCP-096 is always crying making him very easy to spot and obviously hear however he can quiet himself down with one of his abilities which is explained below. If a player views SCP-096's face he will gain the ability to enrage becoming aggressive and able to kill the player.

Note that players who are SCP-096 can choose when to enrage and when to exit rage, if someone looks at his face he will not automatically enrage but he does have a limited time on being in his rage state meaning he will automatically exit rage after a while.

"Melee Attack"
Once enraged SCP-096 is able to damage players by using "LMB" dealing about 60 damage to a target with every slap.

"Charge"
SCP-096 can also use his charge attack while enraged by using "RMB". This ability will cause SCP-096 to dash forward damaging any player in the way.

"Try Not To Cry"
While docile, SCP-096 can use "RMB" on a door or wall to lean against becoming a lot more quiet allowing the player to surprise people and easily make people unaware of his presence look at him.

SCP-079 | "The Old AI"

A lot of the abilities that SCP-079 contains have been summarised to save space.

"Physically Indestructible"
SCP-079 is not an SCP that walks around like every other SCP such as SCP-939, 106, 049, 173, and 096 rather it's an SCP that is physically indestructible having a special containment procedure required to actually contain it but it can never actually be destroyed. SCP-079 requires 3 generators to be turned on and a button pressed in his containment chamber to be recontained or if every SCP on his team other than him dies he will automatically be recontained.

"Facility Control"
SCP-079 has full control over the faclity being able to control almost everything it such as doors, gates, speakers, lights, ect. SCP-079 begins pretty weak but he gains more and more power with every tier he gains, his maximum tier is 5.

Power Tiers
SCP-079 as said before starts off the round weak being on tier 1 with a maximum auxiliary power of 100 but when obtaining enough experience from helping his SCP teammates will level up and move onto a higher tier gaining more maximum auxiliary power limit and regenerating his auxiliary power quicker the higher tier he is.

"Auxiliary Power"
While having full control over the facility SCP-079 cannot perform an action without his limits rather he has his own type of energy similar to SCP-106's vigor he has an energy bar called "Auxiliary Power" which he uses to perform actions around the facility such as closing, opening, locking doors, causing blackouts and scanning the facility.

Facility Map
SCP-079 having full control over the facility also knows the full layout of the facility being able to view a map of it and teleport to room by clicking on them using the map.

While looking at the map SCP-079 can see his teammates on it as red blips that evolve to become more detailed and more visible with the last evolution of it having actual names above the blips to easily find each SCP, in the top right corner he can see the targets remaining in the round and just the same as the teammate blips the information about the targets upgrades the higher tier you are.

Door Control
SCP-079 can open, close and even lock doors when on the right tier. SCP-079 can also press the "R" key on his keyboard to lockdown an entire room locking all the doors accessing it. SCP-079 also has control of the lights around the facility meaning that he can turn off lights anywhere at any point, he can do this by pressing "F" in the room he wants to turn off the lights in.

"Breach Scanner & Full-Zone Blackouts"
The breach scanner is probably (not) SCP-079's most useful ability having the ability to find people by scanning the zones selected by the player. If the scanner finds a player that is in the class selected to scan for it will notify SCP-079 of it and also warn the actual target that got scanned about SCP-079's breach scanner by playing an alarm sound in the room.

SCP-079 can initiate a zone wide blackout at Tier 5 by clicking on the light icon beside the zone name on the map, clicking it will turn off all the lights in the corresponding zone.

"Ping"
The actual most useful ability for SCP-079 is the ability to visually show his teammates what he is looking at for example he can ping generators that are being turned on, lead SCPs to targets, lead SCPs to LCZ at the start of the round and even ping the Micro H.I.D, flashbangs and grenades to warn SCPs.

Special Event SCPs

SCP-1507 | "The Pink Flamingo"

SCP-1507 appears to be a pink garden flamingo. SCP-1507 was first present in the 2023 Holiday event and was removed after the event was over.

Peck
SCP-1507 can damage players by using "LMB", doing this will peck at the target damaging them. This ability can also destroy doors if you peck enough at one.

Vocalize
SCP-1507 can let out a call by using "F", doing so will give any human within 45 meters of SCP-1507 the concussed effect for 2 seconds.

Universally Hostile
SCP-1507 is hostile towards every class even the normal SCPs such as SCP-049, 049-02, 079, 096, 106, 173 and 939, it can attack and kill any class in the game. SCP-1507 can also see targets through walls similar to SCP-096's enrage ability when someone views his face although the colors of the blips are the colors corresponding to the class the target is on.

The Swarm
SCP-1507 when near another instance of SCP-1507 will begin to regenerate health 1 HP/s per instance near it.

One Of Us
SCP-1507 can revive dead instances by using "F" near a dead instance that has the revival icon above it, pressing F near it will begin to slowly fill up the icon making it more visible until the icon is fully filled up and the instance is revived with now only having half of it's health as a maximum. Having multiple instances of SCP-1507 vocalize near a corpse will cause the process to go faster.

SCPs | Environmental | SCP-914
SCP-914 | "The Clockworks"
SCP-914 appears to be a large machine with 2 small rooms on the left and right of it which can be entered into and items may be dropped into the "Input" side of the machine to upgrade the item or degrade it depending on which setting the user puts the machine on.

The 5 settings on the machine are the following:
  • Rough - Similar to Very Fine however instead of having chances of upgrading the item twice, once or not at all it has the chance of degrading the item one, twice or destroying it completely.
  • Coarse - Degrades the item once.
  • 1:1 - Changes the item to another item that is "somewhat" equal to the item in the input.
  • Fine - Upgrades the item once.
  • Very Fine - Upgrades the item once, twice or keeps the item the same.

The following are the recipes that can be used in SCP-914.
  • Input - The place where you put the item inside of to upgrade it or degrade it.
  • Red - Rough
  • Orange - Coarse
  • Brown - 1:1
  • Dark Green - Fine
  • Green - Very Fine

SCP-914 is very powerful and useful however there is a limited time to use it due to the Light Containment Zone Decontamination.
Game Mechanics
Decontamination System
At the start of each round an in-game 20 minute countdown begins for a lockdown of Light Containment Zone, once the timer reaches 0 LCZ will be locked down and not accessible anymore until the next round. Anyone who is still in LCZ during the decontamination will be killed by the decontamination effect.

Multiple warning announcements are given in LCZ throughout the countdown.

Beginning of the countdown
"Attention All Personnel. The Light Containment Zone decontamination process will occur in T-15 minutes. All biological substances must be removed in order to avoid destruction."

10 Minute Warning
"Danger:Light Containment Zone overall decontamination in T-10 minutes."

5 Minute Warning
"Danger:Light Containment Zone overall decontamination in T-5 minutes."

1 Minute Warning
"Danger:Light Containment Zone overall decontamination in T-1 minute."

30 Second Warning
"Danger:Light Containment Zone overall decontamination in 30 seconds.
All checkpoint doors have been permanently opened.
Please Evacuate Immediately.
20. 19. 18. 17. 16. 15. 14. 13. 12. 11. 10 Seconds. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1."

LCZ Lockdown Announcement (Played throughout the entire facility)
"Light Containment Zone has been locked down and ready for decontamination. The removal of organic substances has now begun."

Alpha Warhead
In case of a catastrophic failure on recontainment of the loose SCP subjects a detonation sequence for the facility can be started by enabling the Alpha Warhead panel in Heavy Containment Zone and unlocking the control panel on Surface Zone and pressing the red button on it, pressing the button will begin the detonation sequence which will give users 90 seconds to evacuate the facility before the Alpha Warhead detonates. Upon detonation all the entrances to the lower facility will be locked down and completely destroyed by the Alpha Warhead only leaving Surface Zone until the next round.

The Alpha Warhead sequence can be paused anywhere from the beginning of it as low to 15 seconds, if the countdown goes below 15 seconds the sequence is not able to be cancelled and if your caught in the nuke room as it reaches in 15 seconds.. Well.. God save you because the Warhead won't.

Hume Shield and Artificial Health Points
Hume Shield
Hume Shield is a type of artificial health only given to SCP subjects those being SCP-049, 049-02 079, 096, 106, 173 and 939. This shield is well self explanatory, it's a extra health points given to SCP to stop them from being killed super easily. The lower the normal health of the SCP is the higher the maximum hume shield amount will be.

Artificial Health Points
AHP is the human version of hume shield, it can be obtained from Adrenaline, Rainbow candy, Blue candy and SCP-207-Anti, the maximum amount of AHP that a human can hold is 75 with no exception on passing this limit. AHP serves the same purpose as the SCPs with a slight difference as no human class spawns directly with it of course if we don't count classes that spawn with adrenaline and can save you from some lethal damage but this is unlikely to happen as there's too many ways to die in the facility.. AHP cannot save you from the dark pitchs of doom and fall damage.
Achievements
Yes, there are Achievements in SCP: Secret Laboratory. Obviously some are hard to get and some are easy to get. There are 51 Achievements in total which some of them are event exclusive such as a Holiday exclusive achievement or a Halloween exclusive achievement. Anyways here's a list of achievements in the game.

14.0 | Heavy Duty Update
SCP:Secret Laboratory's possibly largest update right now has recently been released and it's gotten a lot of mixed emotions on it's quality. A lot of users say the update is bad, a lot say its good. Either way this update brought more content to the game and also changed, even overhauled some mechanics in the game making the game slightly more balanced but lets be honest SCP:Secret Laboratory is never gonna be fully balanced.

Anyways the 14.0 update also known as "Heavy Duty" is out and there's a lot of changes to go over in it.

Heavy Containment Zone Overhaul
Say goodbye to the old Heavy Containment Zone as the one has arrived and.. It kind of sucks gameplay wise but visually it looks very good.. Alright so the new HCZ is a lot different from the old ones, there's a lot more straight hallways with no doors but a lot of props placed around such as boxes, pipes, gates, ect to take cover behind and juke you're opponents or ambush them easier of course there's still doors in the new HCZ but there are a lot less of them now so don't rely too much on doors anymore when in HCZ.

A new type of door can spawn in the new HCZ called the "Bulk Gates", these gates open and close very slowly but are very heavy and will deal damage to anyone who tries to squeeze between them when they are closing.

3-X Particle Disruptor Overhaul
The 3-X Particle Disruptor has gotten a complete make over with a complete new model and some other massive changes to it with the most notable one being the new "Burst" mode for it and the way it works has been completely changed.

Aiming Down Sights
When you aim down sight with the newly overhauled 3-X Particle Disruptor it will provide you night vision and no.. Not the garbage night vision like any other gun rather it's actual good night vision and not only does it do this but it will highlight opponents/teammates for you by putting an icon on the enemies that follows them until you break line of sight with the opponent/player. The color of the icon corresponds to the team the person you are looking at is a part of and don't be fooled you do not get aimbot by doing this, you have to still manually aim at the opponent/player to hit them.

Burst Mode
Burst mode causes you to shoot out 3 weaker lasers into the opponent, each bullet does 250 damage and does not bypass Artificial HP and Hume Shield. This mode is mainly recommended for human classes rather than SCPs.

Disintegration Mode
Disintegration mode fires out a powerful laser that bypasses Artificial HP and Hume Shield but takes longer to fire and of course is only one bullet so you'll have to be as accurate as you can if you use this mode. Again this mode ignores armor, AHP and HS it deals 800 damage to the opponent and does have splash damage like the old one.

Micro H.I.D Overhaul
With the 3-X Particle Disruptor being overhauled the Micro H.I.D also received an overhaul. The model and over all mechanics of the Micro H.I.D has gotten changed making it a lot better for killing SCPs but worse for killing humans. The new Micro H.I.D has two modes similar to the 3-X Particle Disruptor.

Short Beam
The short beam fires off a weak short beam of electricity out damaging SCPs and humans a lot but not as much as the long beam having a longer damage speed. This mode allows you to fire off the Micro H.I.D. faster but again does less damage, more efficient against humans rather than SCPs. You can use this mode by holding Left Click.

Long Beam
The long beam fires off a strong long beam that drains the energy of the Micro H.I.D. quicker but again is more effective for killing SCPs as it does damage a lot faster per second and has a longer range. You can charge the Micro H.I.D. to use this mode by holding down Right Click, once it fully charges up you can press Left Click to fire off the Micro H.I.D. Do not hold the Micro H.I.D. for too long using Right Click without firing it off or it'll overcharge and explode.

Short Beam - Overcharged
The overcharged version of the short beam is pretty much a broken version of the long beam, it's got the range of a short beam but the power of a long beam.

Experimental Lockers
A new set of weapon lockers has been implemented into the game in 14.0. The Experimental Lockers only spawn around heavy in random rooms, 1-2 can spawn each round and they can hold either the Jailbird or 3-X Particle Disruptor of course if two spawn in a round then one will hold a Jailbird and one will hold a 3-X Particle Disruptor, duplicates cannot spawn during a round so don't expect to have an army of 3-X Particle Disruptors or Jailbirds.. Of course if we don't count the on-going Holiday event as this is written which allows you to get 3-X Particle Disruptors and Jailbirds from SCP-2536.

These lockers require a level 3 armory access keycard to open same as the Micro H.I.D room.
Here's a list of which keycards can open these lockers.
  • 05 Access Card
  • Chaos Insurgency Access Device
  • Captain Access Card

Of course there is a lot more changes in 14.0 but these changes deserve a full in-depth section on them so they won't be put here, I only put the small but still notable changes in here.

Conclusion

Hello, it's me the creator again. I have not updated the guide for a VERY long time cuz I was lazy so yeah.. I hope you liked this guide and uhhh more updates coming in 2030.

Anyways in a quick summary, here are some tips.
  • Do not quit as SCP-079 because you suck at it or just don't like playing as it.
  • Don't be an *sshole.
  • If you are an SCP especially SCP-079 please make sure to actually help your team and listen to your teammates.
  • Don't rush Nine-Tailed Fox & Chaos Insurgency waves alone, it's a death wish.
  • PLEASE for god sake DO not rush a group of people as SCP-939 and try to ambush people as much as possible, remember your very powerful when actually ambushing people rather than chasing them and rushing a ton of people.
  • Communicate with people.. There's voice chat in the game for a reason.
  • Don't be selfish bro.
  • Don't shoot Class-D on sight, it's annoying as ♥♥♥♥ when your actually trying to get out and get shot by a random facility guard because they assume you have a gun and want to be a chaos.
  • Don't trust anyone, not even your team.
  • Stick with SCP-096 as SCP-173 and same goes for SCP-173, stick with your 096.
  • Stick with your team.
  • Hate Russians and the French.

I skipped through most of it, but it actually seems helpful. Northwood should actually add the tutorial back so people dont stress themselves to make guides this long. As a youtuber named Mechasolaris said: "There should be a tutorial; how to play. Shouldn't be something that you need to discover.
