Phelan Building
The Phelan Building is an eleven storey office building in the Financial District of San Francisco.
The second of two Phelan Buildings on this site - the original Phelan Building was damaged by the 1906 earthquake and fire.

The building was designed by architect William Curlett and bears the name of one of San Francisco's most prominent early families. Completed in 1908, the flatiron shaped building is a San Francisco Designated Landmark.

It was instantly one of the most prominent and preeminent office structures in San Francisco and, in keeping with Phelan's strident advocacy of the City Beautiful Movement and the Burnham Plan, it greatly dignified both Market Street and the retail district with its two monumental façades.

As one of the earliest office buildings to be rebuilt after the catastrophe. Its prominence was further heightened by the choice of glazed cream terra cotta; it is probably the largest structure in the city clad with this favourite reconstruction material and an outstanding example of the desire to make of the downtown a Great White City.

This asset was commissioned by nicocn383 for his fictional city of Strathcona based on a mix of Seattle, WA and Vancouver, B.C. Essentially a rainy and green North American city on the Pacific coast.

A big "thank you" to nicocn383 for providing the excellent screenshots.

RICO
Included with this asset is RICO compatibility which allows the building to function as a large office. If you subscribe to the Ploppable Rico Revisited mod this asset will appear in the RICO 'Offices' tab.

I've tried to make this asset as realistic as possible and therefore the geometry tri count is high and the textures large. All of the texture elements have been created specifically for this asset in order for full control over the final look.

Please try this asset out and if there are any problems let me know in the comments below.

What a gorgeous buidling! The detail is unbelieveable. Worth every tris in it. Thanks a lot!

@Saurion I could have created this with a few rectangles and the detail projected on to them but it wasn't what I was commissioned to create and it would have looked shite. I recommend listening to others, you might learn something.

@Saurion We might have done in the past, but it also cuts detail. Since C:S was released over 7 years ago and system specs have steadily increased. We have to look to the future and C:S might be at the end of it's life. I think there's more space now for higher details. Also with keeping other games in mind.

Beautiful structure, love the shape! Thanks for another awesome structure. <3

@Macwelshman I've done a lot of 3d modeling, albeit not for CS, but I know a thing or two about the how it's done. Not doubting the quality and detail, just the size. Darf and Prosper, to name a few, do this type of buildings with 1/5th to 1/10th of the tris of this one. I like a lot of the stuff you upload, but with these file sizes I'm never going to use them, sadly.

@ everyone else, I wasn't talking to any of you and I'm not interested in what you have to say.

@Saurion - You don't have to subscribe--easy enough solution

@Saurion - It's a unique building, you're only likely to place it once. You could have some car or tree from the workshop appear just 15 times and that would result in more tris. Also it's huge, the several other buildings that you would be placing in the same area could have as many.

Great work MacWelshman, fantastic asset as always.

@Saurion Have you ever tried creating a model like this? Have you ever tried creating anything? This model was optimised to 'within an inch of its life'. I have a great deal of experience in modelling and, believe it or not, quality often requires detail and detail requires tris. Thank you for your comment.

Finally, the flatiron of my dreams!

46500 tris? Ever heard of optimization?
