Liburna

Description
Historical context:
liburna was a type of small galley used for raiding and patrols. It was originally used by the Liburnians, a pirate tribe from Dalmatia, and later used by the Roman navy. By its original form, the liburna was similar to the ancient Greek penteconter. It had one bench with 25 oars on each side. Liburnae played a key role in the Battle of Actium in Greece (31 BCE), which saw the establishment of Augustus as the undisputed ruler of the Roman world.

FTD context:
This fantasy Liburna (galley) is designed to be a light escort ship for your tri- and bireme vessels. It this ship is armed with three 60 mm archers, and small torpedo's mounted to the bottom of the craft. The vessel has a ram mounted to the front of the ship but do not expect it to break anything when it rams its target for this ship is 100% oar and sail powered. As such its not quite as fast as I would have wanted and it is unable to obtain the required speed to actually ram something. However I have seen it actually pin targets in place when two of these ships rammed a target from two different directions.
