Why Left 4 Dead 1 is worth playing

Start playing Left 4 Dead 1.

Here are the reasons:

- First of all Steam page of this game looks very nice.


- Intro movie gives you that incredible survival-horror vibe.






- This game has its unique cool loading screens you can enjoy both when launching game and map.



- Cool old-school menu.


- Unique default sprays.


- Unique HUD and info screens.





- Funny ragdolls of deceased characters instead of boring static animation and pose.











- You say Left 4 Dead 2 already has Left 4 Dead 1 campaigns? Well, the first game has cool horror atmosphere of despair and running around stupid circus freaks like Chargers, Jockeys and Spitters just ruin it in Left 4 Dead 2.





- You can see delicious Zoey's body when you look down.


- The game and server load much faster and also gives you more fps.



- Animation and look of Molotov's fire are better imo.


- When you heal yourself the characters stand still while healing no matter how hard you swing camera around them. It's cool when I want to look at front side of character. Another sweet little detail.



- Unique weapons' behavior which is absent in Left 4 Dead 2. Auto Shotgun, pistol and assault rifle are just different.



- Absence of melee weapons, boomer biles, defibrillators, laser sights, adrenaline shots. All this stuff is just goofy and ruins cool dark atmosphere.

- Maybe red mist after pipe bomb explosion is worse than ragdoll bodies but for me it gives more nostalgia vibes.


- Tank's body while dying is still and don't insanely swing around itself when shooting survivors run around.





- Animation of attacking smoker is not broken.


- The game acts like old-school shooter which is good for me. With one press a handful of ammo gives you only that quantity that fills your stock, not that quantity which is enough to fill both your stock and your clip how that happens in Left 4 Dead 2. For instance: it gives you 480 ammo for submachine gun instead of 530. It's nice when game is not perfectly nice with you.


- Lying survivor can hurt teammates with pistol. When your teammates shoot you on purpose is not cool, but this detail is still good and realistic.



- Versus matches are more interesting without all these Chargers' instakills. Three or even four hunters catching all survivors at once is just brilliant. Something you'll never get in Left 4 Dead 2.



- Did I say already that this game has cool dark atmosphere?



- Nice custom campaigns which were originally created for Left 4 Dead 1.









- You can block Tank while he is climbing, very funny. I don't recall for sure but I think it's impossible in Left 4 Dead 2.



- Atmosphere in Left 4 Dead 1 versus mode is much more better I think.

- In Left 4 Dead 2 you are forced to trigger endless horde in order to get to safe room. I just hate that. I want to calmly explore location before getting to the end.





- This nice place is available only in Left 4 Dead 1.

Onion_Lover that's actually a bug in l4d2 i encountered it recently and had to fix it

i do feel like l4d2 also made the l4d lighting wayyy darker to the point where the flashlight seems to do barely anything, but it might just be me

The only reason why i play L4D2 over L4D1 is because the first game doesn't have the steam workshop
