Curtiss SOC-3 Seagull (1:1)

Beschreibung
Built by the well known Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company, the SOC 3 Seagull was first adopted by the US Navy on November 12th of 1935 as a general scout and reconnaissance aircraft. There were two different gear setups for the SOC 3, the version you see here with wheels, as well as a version with floats. These were commonly catapulted from ships such as battleships, battle cruisers and destroyers as recon aircraft. Despite their employment on numerous well known ships through World War 2 these aircraft are not very well known. Even on these well known vessels all SOC 3 aircraft would be retired in 1945.

Features:
-Fully 1:1 scale
-Simple and easy to fly
-Long 1:1 range
-Perfect for scouting, as designed

Take off:
To take off, simply turn your engine on, and in order to taxi, allow the engine to Idle and use the prop pitch in order to adjust your taxi speed. Once in position, turn stabilizing avionics on, set your pitch to 0, fully increase the throttle, then maximum prop pitch. Once your tail comes off the ground at speed, pitch up and go find the enemy!

Note: Be sure to take your break off as it spawns with the break on!

Flight:
For extended flight, set your throttle a bit lower to avoid engine overheating. If it is needed to excessively maneuver or evade, it is best to turn off the stabilization avionics in order to allow the aircraft to maneuver upside down or make tight turns.

Landing:
In order to land, decrease your throttle to half, then deploy flaps, once over the runway fully decrease your throttle, once you're on the runway lower the prop pitch fully, then when your aircraft is below 40 Mph you may apply brakes. You may want to turn off the stabilizing avionics for landing as it makes landing easier and more stable on the ground.

I hope you enjoy this neat slice of history and can use it to your leisure as it also makes a perfect island hopping plane. Thank you Uran_Wind again for the ECU! Have fun!
