Get the core
In order to get the core:

1 - Get the stand alone RetroArch, then download and take the core from RetroArch\cores

After getting standAlone in the Main Menu:
- Go to Load Core
- Press Download Core
- Find and select the dolphin one

- Then in the local files of your standAlone retroArch, find the dolphin_libretro.dll

After getting your core:
Now that you have dolphin_libretro place it on Steam\steamapps\common\RetroArch\cores

Get the emulator
Yes, we need to get the emulator itself.

Get the emulator (V5.0-16380):
https://dl.dolphin-emu.org/builds/51/be/dolphin-master-5.0-16380-x64.7z

Your zip file should look like (inside the main folder):

Now go to Steam\steamapps\common\RetroArch\system
And create a folder named "dolphin-emu"
And extract the contents from the zip file
Note: Don't extract the main folder, just what's inside it

Manual Scan
Since this is not an official steam released core. We have to make use of Manual Scan.

1- Select the folder where you legally acquired games are

2- Select the system name. Good to get thumbnails for games

3- Select the core there going to use

4- Scroll down and start the scan
Wii game control's
Some Wii games require a specific control set.
Press f1 while in game scroll down to controls - port 1 - Device Type
And just select the control set you need.

Enjoy your games and feel free to leave any questions bellow

the standalone has the netplay, while the steam version has remote play that lest you play local-coop trough a pier to pier session.

thanks maybe they updated the core also, you can download the core directly from them on this site [buildbot.libretro.com] , you just have to choose the right version

I also launched the emulator manually and updated it, not sure if it's necessary.

Ok I managed to fix it.
To work with the new update you need the most recent core. Meaning you're gonna have to:
-get the standalone retroArch
-download the dolphin core
-go in the files and get the dolphin_libretro.dll
-paste into the steam retroarch core folder

And.. you should be good to go

its just me or dolphin stopped working after the last retroarch update?

Unfortunately, it cloud syncs all the files of the emulator and not just the saves, thus bloating the Steam Cloud Save and causing it to transfer files for a long time after closing the app everytime, especially if you have HD texture packs installed.

Sorry, didn't see the pop-up.
Yes the emulator comes in .7z file, I just have the habit of calling all compress files .zip :)
