Description
Now the FCE ADe series are completed! The next project its FCE RALn 64 but this time its seriously programmed and not in development :D

These type of trains were built in Catania (Sicily) from ITIN-Italimprese Industrie (ex IMPA); the ITIN constructed others rolling stock like:

- DE. 122 da 1220 kW, for Ferrovie del Sud-Est and l'ACT of Reggio Emilia
- ADe 21-25 for Ferrovia Circumetnea
- Protoype 218.8201 (constructed by SAEM, in Catania, on 1983)
- Service Motorized trolleys for Ferrovie dello Stato
- Carriages type UIC-Z, for Ferrovie dello Stato
- Baggage and boogies type Z, for Ferrovie dello Stato
- Locomotive E.652 25 units were produced as Ansaldo subcommission, for the State Railways. Between December 14, 1991, and May 5, 1993, 18 units of the E.652 locomotive were delivered; from 008 to 026 of the 1st series, and between 16 December 1993, and 11 January 1996, units 107 and 108, and from unit 157 to unit 161.

In 1994 the company had entered a serious crisis, which resulted in bankruptcy proceedings. The factories were sold due to bankruptcy in 2006.


History of ADe 21-25 (English):

The construction was started in the last two years of the eighties, in the IMPA / ITIN plants, located in the industrial area of Catania, with the delivery of the first unit on June 16, 1990. In the following months, tests and pre-exercise followed one another with top speed tests on the mountain section between Adrano and Randazzo. The other four units, one after the other, were set up and delivered, and entered regular service within the following year.

Following the bankruptcy of the factory, which effectively prevented the finding of the necessary spare parts, the railcar ADe 21 was set aside shortly after being delivered, as it became a donor for the spare parts needed for the other four units of the series.

The others units are still in use with new logo and livery.

La costruzione venne avviata nell'ultimo biennio degli anni ottanta, negli stabilimenti della IMPA/ITIN, siti nella zona industriale di Catania, con la consegna della prima unità avvenuta il 16 giugno del 1990. Nei mesi successivi si susseguirono i collaudi e il pre-esercizio con corse prova di velocità massima sulla tratta montana tra Adrano e Randazzo. Le altre quattro unità, una dopo l'altra, furono allestite e consegnate, ed entrarono in servizio regolare entro l'anno successivo.

In seguito al fallimento della fabbrica, che ha di fatto impedito il reperimento dei ricambi occorrenti, l'automotrice ADe 21 fu accantonata poco tempo dopo esser stata consegnata, poiché divenne donatrice per i pezzi di ricambio necessari per le altre quattro unità della serie.

Le altre unità sono ancora in uso con un nuovo logo e una nuova livrea.
