3 C4s is a trap LOL

My lowest effort guide, yet it surprises me how many people seem to not know the thing.

The No Effort Guide LMAO
All ammunition in DRG is resupplied with rule "50%, rounded up if needed"... Except for the detpacks. You only get one detpack if your build has the total carried 2 or 3. And if you want to get 2 per resup, you have to build for 4 detpacks.

Bita more words in case you didn't get the idea.
Let's start with 2 C4s builds. They imply you go damage radius or damage T1 and T3 damage(volatile). Whatever, you have maximum damage potential per pack. One important thing to notice here - "both damage" always kills preats at vanilla difficulties, except for H5P4, but even then it leaves a preat just a lil bit of health. Which is great if you find yourself in a desperate need to get rid of a preat ASAP. I can give even more justifications for 2C4s builds, the few playing modded H6x1.5 and above will likely disagree, but what I know for sure - 2C4s is reasonable for haz5.

Now lets give one of the damage upgrades up. We have one extra detpack in our pockets. So we get less damage output per pack. But we DO NOT get more packs per resup. You literally give your damage output per pack up for absolute nothing. Okay, I can see you may hate volatile C4. Not going to argue against not using it. But then, what is your benefit of not using T1 ammo? Damage radius? You want damage radius but not volatile? It makes some sense that with larger damage radius you avoid the volatile T3 for safety reasons. Yet the idea of T1 radius is dubious IMHO. It increases untentional grief chance while focusing on a thing your arsenal already hanldes fine - killing trash mob packs.

4 C4s? Amazing! You have 4 packs to carve terrain or stun enemies, and 2 per resup. Giving all damage potential options up doubles your utility resuppies, it just works, nothing else to say here.

Good point, I always run Pickaxe Power Attack Damage on practically every build. I was also assuming some damage would've been done by their flamethrower, but usually yes, power attack with damage mod, two axes and a little bit of DoT is enough

Implies you take pickaxe power attack damage. Which is not the only reasonable option in its turn.

Although, not sure if you can 2-axe and power-attack a preat to death at haz5p4, like they are 1k hp there. Am I missing something? Perhaps I do not remember axe damage numbers so I don't say this is not true.

On-topic: yes, I see the 3C4s build provides one extra C4 per game over 2C4s build, but then it needs something else to be used to finish preats. And then I see few alternatives in killing preats w/o C4s, so why not 4 stun/mining C4s and just let the other part of your loadout nuke preats on demand (as long as you don't go modded and can afford all-round-carry builds).

2 axe+ power strike to kill a pret, yea, sure. :steamfacepalm:

Clearly you should just throw 4 axes on the ground with every resupply and save them for uh. Uh..

Uh.

Also very bizarre thing to call a waste of ammo. What else are you going to use your ammo on? I could call using a C4 on a Pretorian a waste too. Oh no you shot your Explosive Reload Subata, what a waste; should've just circle strafed the Pretorian with your Sticky Fuel for 15 seconds /s

Everything is preference, ammo efficient builds technically can pour out the most damage on every build, but in reality, is not actually used that much. same with c4, 90% of drillers won't even use c4 more then 3 times.
and some just wana cave out a real big hole real quick occasionally.
Is it good for revives?
Yep.
Is it good for drilldozer?
Yep
Is every other dwarf incapable of doing the exact same mass aoe
Nah.

Although lets be honest even if you take every pro-caution, a scout or engi will have a coin flip of jumping within your c4 radius nethertheless making it awkward to use.

Being honest i do use 4 c4 on half the builds and max radius on the other half, anyone can build "meta" builds but i always try to move away from it since things like gunner poison fear, is just a free win, but incredibly boring after a time

Would be amazing to see a c4 upgrade replacement along the lines of "reduced damage-little damage to players"

Subata is a beast btw.

@PROVIDENCE
how many axes does it take to kill a praetorian when he is not frozen, 4 or 5? it's a waste of ammo
