Description
A completely vanilla map!

A tropical coastline waiting to be claimed and utilized - great industrial options available along with a perfect setting for a tourist trap destination. Will you urbanize the location or perhaps preserve the nature of the area and form a quieter, peaceful country-like location? The choice is yours!

This map aims for a balance between realism and a videogamey-feel and the map was built with purely vanilla builds in mind. Ever felt like you found a great map, started building vanilla on it and then realized that the vanilla assets just look out of place? Well, I hope this map solves that problem and strikes the perfect balance between great visuals whilst still maintaining that authentic vanilla / videogamey-feel.

  • 100% Vanilla. Just a custom map theme, which is optional as well - the map will work with just the vanilla temperate map theme as well.
  • Only 58K trees. Hardly any!
  • All transportation modes present and they're all accessible right in the beginning even in just the start square.
  • The entire map is flat for easy building. The shape of the map however will force some creativity and provide variety in gameplay - no boring big flat areas!

  • NOTHING REQUIRED! YAY! Except for the optional map theme to achieve the same visuals.
  • Use Tree Control (or an older variant such as Tree Anarchy) to prevent some trees from disappearing at launch! The map will work without it too, though, just with less detail. I was intending to eliminate the need for the mod, but I was unable to do so without losing the detail I put into the map, hence you'll have to choose between 1 mod or less detail. Apologies for any inconvenience. Future maps will not suffer from this same issue.

  • LUT: Relight 2 Natural
  • Daylight Classic, set "all to classic"
  • Clouds & Fog Toggler to disable clouds and edge fog

  • 81 Tiles to utilize all of the buildable space, namely the larger landmass at the edge of the map.

Q: Is this map really vanilla??
A: Yes, the map really is vanilla. The only thing not "vanilla" per se on this map is the map theme used - and the map will work with the vanilla temperate theme as well, just with slightly different visuals.

Q: Will you release an alternative version of this map?
A: Unfortunately I have no intentions to create any alternative versions of this map.

Q: "My map is broken!"
A: I'm always happy to help. When you need help, please try to provide some details to your issue. This way I can provide you with more useful and specific tips and advice!

Q: "Kawabunga wiguwada dabadoo"
A: What?

For a long time I've wanted to create a 100% vanilla map and I've done a few quick starts for a map in the past too but this is the first one that I ended up working on with the intention of actually finishing it as it started to turn out the way I wanted it to. This project started out with the intention of creating a quick map for my own use only, but as I said it started coming together nicely so I thought why not polish it to a publishable degree and share it aswell.

This map was created in 4 days (~20-30 hours). I'm inclined to work on similar (relatively quick, and likely vanilla) projects in the future (as opposed to more detailed maps) as I'm very limited when it comes to the time I have to spend on Skylines. It took me 4 days to create this map but it has taken me a month to find time to actually publish it, which describes in itself how busy I'm nowadays with other work. Anyways, it's always a pleasure to be able to publish my work for all of you to enjoy as well.

Thank you for your interest in my work!

This is a bug I've encountered in the past too, it's an incompatibility of some mods / a bug within a mod (if I remember correctly, it's caused by an incompatibility / outdated mod). I haven't touched the game in a little over a year now, so the mods are different these days and thus pointing out which mods could cause the issue is difficult, but I'd try disabling prop control to see if it fixes the issue -> if it does, then something is incompatible with prop control, or prop control itself is the culprit. If it has nothing to do with prop control, I'd try the same with other mods. Unfortunately the only way to really troubleshoot the bug is to try disabling mods and seeing when the issue gets fixed. It's easier to disable a couple mods at a time to speed up the process of finding out which one is the culprit. My best guess is some mod is incompatible with prop control (for example maybe another anarchy mod has prop control built in already?). I hope this is of any help.

I really want to play on this map. I am having issues with floating rocks and missing trees. I have both prop control and tree control installed and both anarchy are on. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi there Alex! Super glad to hear you've enjoyed the map! Also a big thanks for the heads up on the newer anarchy mod! Updated it to the notes :) Have a great day!

Hi IhmeHihhuli, great job on this map, I keep coming back to replay over and over again. Just wanted to suggest replacing Tree Anarchy in your notes to Tree Control. Thanks!

@YFiu,
The grid lines are essentially UI which should be unaffected by any maps, so the issue has to be in a conflicting or outdated mod. Did you try starting a new game on other maps? On previous saved games the mod configurations might be locked to a previous version, which could explain why you're not experiencing the same issue in saved games. Disabling the grid lines for zoning could also be a setting within a mod which has for some reason been turned on by default.
Anyhow, first I'd try to see if the issue persists on other maps in a new game. Secondly, it's always a good idea to try running a map with just the required mods (in this case no mods at all) to rule out the possibility of the map being the culprit -> if you can rule out the map, then you can narrow down the hunt for the mod that is causing the issue by toggling a few mods at a time and starting the map to see which mod ends up causing the issue. I hope this helps!

hello @IhmeHihhuli I love this map but the only issue i am facing is that i am unable to see the grid lines for zoning i have tried disabling mods , changing LUT's and etc but neither couldn't fix the issue and i also made sure to look at the other saved games and i didn't have this issue on those games. please help me with this
