Psychoanalysis sessions - Introduction

Each of the various cases involves three phases:
-The session with the patient.
-The formulation of the diagnosis.
-The proposal of therapy.

The first phase is the crucial one, because it provides the data for the second, which in turn will allow us to formulate a therapy depending on how many correct deductions we will be able to make.
To get the perfect case solution it is therefore necessary to pay the utmost attention from the first phase.
In the therapy session we will have to decide which line of investigation to take. The order of the questions is also important as some of them should only be asked when the patient's level of confidence is high enough. The amount of money paid by the patient at the end of the session will tell us how good the session was. Only with 50 shillings will we have the certainty of having obtained all the data.
In the data interpretation phase we will have to choose which meaning to give to the patient's words and establish the type of disorder from which he is affected (hysteria, neurosis, ...)
In the third phase, the amount of treatment options available will reveal to us how good our conduct was during the case. Not having therapeutic proposals or having only one will mean a total failure in resolving the case. Having two will mean you have made some mistakes. With three we will be sure that we have helped the patient but not that we have revealed every secret about him. Only in this way, and also by giving the right therapy, will we achieve the perfect analysis, visible in the ending.

Psychoanalysis Sessions - Elsa

Session with the patient

-Start by choosing the clinical approach.
-Ask about his private life.

Interpretation

Analyze the family status and comment that Elsa spoke only of the deceased father.

- Look for comments on bruises and tremors in the report and interpret them as a medical error.
When formulating the diagnosis, choose:
-Elsa has a secret love that the unconscious has removed and is at the root of her symptoms.
She hurt herself for desperation.
She Hid her sister's death because of her strong trauma.
-The doctors were wrong in sedating her.

ATTENTION: After the case of Julian Holden, the time will come when Freud will have a crisis. DO NOT take cocaine or while he is "done" of trip he will miss the final session with Elsa.

When you see Elsa again, tell her that her illness is the Hysteria.

Therapy

Psychoanalysis Sessions - Johanna

Session with the patient

Analyze all documents. Circle the points of interest in the farewell letter and interpret them as a sign of a specific traumatic event Johanna experienced.
-Start with a fatherly approach.
-Discuss the farewell letter.

-Choose 2 consecutive times to leave Johanna free to speak.

Session with the patient

Analyze the documents.

Psychoanalysis Sessions - Julian Holden

Session with the patient

Analyze the documents. Interpret them as written by a potential murderer.

1) Ripetiamolo ancora: gran parte del divertimento nel gioco è arrivare a formulare le giuste diagnosi. Per quanto difficile sia cercate di farlo da soli e consultate la guida solo come ultima risorsa.

2) Il gioco è fornito di tantissimi slot di salvataggio. Usateli, specialmente prima di affrontare un nuovo caso.

A tal proposito si consiglia una copertina classica per "L'Interpretazione dei Sogni" e una provocatoria per "Ossessioni, fobie e paranoia".

Un curioso fumatore
"Hai fumato tutti i tipi di sigari"
La prima serata, decidete di passarla al caffè Eckmann, ma prima passate dal negozio di sigari e compratene di tutti i tipi. Ricordate di fare abbastanza soldi con le analisi e convincendo i finanziatori. Appena il livello di stress lo richiederà, fumate un sigaro, ogni volta diverso.

Sessioni di Psicanalisi - Introduzione

Ognuno dei vari casi prevede tre fasi:

-La sessione con il paziente
-La formulazione della diagnosi
-La proposta di terapia.

La prima fase è quella cruciale, perchè fornisce i dati per la seconda, la quale a sua volta permetterà di formulare una terapia a seconda di quante deduzioni corrette riusciremo a fare. Per realizzare il caso perfetto è quindi necessario prestare la massima attenzione fin dalla prima fase.

Nella sessione di terapia dovremo decidere quale linea d'indagine tenere. Anche l'ordine delle domande è importante poichè alcune di esse vanno formulate solo quando il livello di fiducia del paziente è abbastanza elevato. La quantità di denaro versata dal paziente a fine seduta ci indicherà quanto buona è stata la sessione. Solo con 50 scellini avremo la certezza di aver ricavato tutti i dati.

Nella fase di interpretazione dei dati dovremo appunto scegliere quale significato dare alle parole del paziente e stabilire la tipologia di disturbo da cui è affetto (isteria, nevrosi,...)

Nella terza fase, la quantità di opzioni terapeutiche a disposizione ci rivelerà quanto buona è stata la nostra condotta durante il caso. Non avere proposte terapeutiche o averne una sola, significherà un totale fallimento nella risoluzione del caso. Averne due vorrà dire aver commesso alcuni errori. Con tre saremo sicuri di aver aiutato il paziente ma non di aver rivelato ogni suo segreto. Solo in tal modo, e dando anche la giusta terapia, realizzeremo l'analisi perfetta.

Sessioni di psicanalisi - Elsa

Sessione con il paziente

-Iniziate scegliendo l'approccio clinico.
-Chiedete della sua vita privata.
Chiedete di Arnold.
Indagate con astuzia fingendo disattenzione.
-Chiedete dell'infanzia.
-Chiedete del sintomo.
-Chiedete 50 scellini.

Interpretazione

Analizzate lo stato di famiglia e commentate che Elsa ha parlato solo del padre deceduto.
Analizzate la poesia e cerchiate le tre serie di parole dando le seguenti interpretazioni:
-Elsa vive un ossessione amorosa non consumata.
-C'è una persona che le impedisce di stare con chi ama.
-Elsa desidera la morte della sua rivale in amore.
-Elsa si è ferita da sola per disperazione.
Analizzate i farmaci, cerchiateli e cercateli nell'enciclopedia. Interpretate in questo modo:
-i farmaci inducano un leggero rilassamento.
-Elsa non ha fiducia nei medici.
-Cerchiate nel referto i commenti sulle escoriazioni e sui tremori e interpretateli come un errore medico.
Nella formulazione della diagnosi scegliete:
-Elsa ha un amore segreto che l'inconscio ha rimosso ed è alla base dei suoi sintomi.
-Si è ferita per disperazione.
-Ha nascosto il lutto della sorella a causa del forte trauma.
-I medici hanno sbagliato nel sedarla.

ATTENZIONE: Dopo il caso di Julian Holden arriverà il momento in cui Freud avrà una crisi. NON assumete la cocaina o mentre sarà in preda del suo trip si perderà la sessione definitiva con Elsa.

Quando rivedrete Elsa comunicatele che la sua malattia è l'Isteria.

Terapia

-Niente farmaci.
-Tenere un diario.
-Andare a vivere da sola.

Sessioni di psicanalisi - Johanna

Sessione con il paziente

Analizzate tutti i documenti. Cerchiate i punti di interesse della lettera d'addio e interpretateli come segno di uno specifico evento traumatico vissuto da Johanna.
-Iniziate con un approccio paterno.
-Discutete della lettera d'addio.
Contrastate l'atteggiamento di Freud.
Scegliete l'immagine di Lou e Anna che si baciano.
-Scegliete per 2 volte consecutive di lasciare Johanna libera di parlare.
Scegliete l'immagine di Anubi.
Invitala a proseguire con calma.
interpreta le sue parole come un aggressione da lei subita.
Interpreta le lettere come un indicazione di H.
-Chiedi del libro in modo provocatorio e libertino.
Chiedile se il libro avesse a che fare con scambi di conoscenze tra donne.
Chiedile se lei provava amore nei confronti della signora H.
-Chiedi 50 scellini

Interpretazione

-Johanna ha subito un aggressione sessuale.
-Non è importante chi l'ha aggredita.
-Johanna ha provato un'attrazione inconfessabile verso la signora H.

-I topi indicano un'ossessione che lo logora.
-I luoghi indicati sono reali.
-L'angelo è una persona cara morta da poco.
La diagnosi è: Nevrotico ossessivo.
-Chiedi 50 scellini.

Terapia

-Niente farmaci.
-Frequentare l'accademia di Belle Arti.
-Sottoporsi a sessioni di ipnosi.

Sessioni di psicanalisi - Julian Holden

Sessione con il paziente

Analizza i documenti. Interpretali come scritti da un potenziale omicida.
-Inizia con un approccio paterno.
-Chiedi della terapia dei medici.

So, I have played Elsa's session and interpretation twice - once alone and once with your guide. Having not played further yet - in Elsa's case, all the rational interpretations are wrong and all the intuitive ones are right. Is that true for the rest of the game?

Weird. Keep in mind that the cocaine is available the first time (when Freud has the first crisis after the session with Elsa) but after that you must buy it if you want use it again.
