Caelus Innovations - "Araneo" Recon Drone

(Made for ScrapMan's Mars Colony Survival [MCS] community series. For ease of pronunciation, the C of 'Caelus' is pronounced as an S.)

Caelus Innovations' "Araneo" Reconnaissance Drone was created for the sole purpose of surveying areas that human-operated vehicles were too large to reach. The insect-inspired design allows it to weave itself into very small places, making it optimal for short-distance scouting. In such small areas, remote-control was the only option.

Features six articulating legs which allow it to scuttle through tight gaps, a camera on the front which doubles as a headlight for the drone, so that the operator can see where they are steering it. The prongs on its 'tail' can be used like drills, to extract small samples of anything you find and want to research.

([In roleplay context, the prongs on the 'tail' can be used to carry an extracted sample, as well as to extract it.] Please be aware that it sometimes has difficulty with convex slopes, but taking on these at an angle and a bit of wriggling about with the steering should be enough to get it across these.)
