Events Guide

This guide is intended to inform the reader of the outcomes of various events. This guide is based on my own experiences, as well as those of many members of the community who have graciously submitted their results. I have not yet figured out if the results are random, predetermined, or some combination. To figure what happened for each event, I saved a few in game days prior, selected an option, marked down what happens, and then reloaded. This doesn't always result in the same event, so I've not always been able to exhaust every option. Please feel free to leave your own experiences and information (preferably with screenshots) in the comments so I can expand this guide. Lastly, and it should go without saying, this contains spoilers. Proceed at your own risk! Thank you, and I hope this helps!

This is VERY MUCH a work in progress.
This is, I think, a lot closer to completion than not. I can't say it's 100% done, but I'd guess it's 85-90% there. I'm missing some outcomes on events still, and there's probably Grand Master reports outside the scope of what I experienced if you go significantly slower or faster than my own play-through. Unfortunately I've completed the game and this guide is now only going to be getting information from readers' comments. I'd like to thank all the users who have gone out of their way to help, as their information has been invaluable.

Introductory Notes - Start Here
Welcome to the guide! I've done my best to keep things concise, but I've also included my own commentary or notes when it doesn't seem like that's possible, or more explanation is needed. Generally, parts in italics are my own notes to you, the reader.

Each section is titled with the sub-title of the event first, then the name of the event. I opted for this because it seems like they intend for the sub-title to be something like a category. For example, all "Death Guard Fleet" events have the same subtitle, with differing titles depending on the ship. After that I alphabetized the list, but moved all Grand Master Reports to the bottom and put those in the order I encountered them. If all else fail, use the shortcut combination of CTRL and F to search the guide. If you can't find it, it's not in the guide yet, so leave a comment!

Special Considerations:
  • In Death Guard Fleet events, the enemy ship's Gun Battery strength is seemingly RANDOM. Additionally, the type of ship is not determined until the Edict actually bumps into it.
  • Because of the random battery strength, your exact results may vary when choosing the option that in my screenshots may say "The enemy vessel is outclassed." Keep in mind that just because you outclass the enemy vessel, you may not avoid any negative outcomes. In some cases of my testing so far I've still suffered injury to the Edict. In nearly all of my own testing, I had level 3 Gun Batteries and level 3 Void Shields or better.
  • Lastly, the amount of damage you receive to the Edict as a result of an encounter may also be slightly random. In most of my events I had only 1 point reported, but in at least one case a user took 2 points instead. If I had to speculate it may be related to the difference in Gun Battery level, or yet more randomness..
  • Grand Master Reports have a degree of randomness to them. I've include the day that I encountered them, as well as any key events that may have happened prior, in the title. Yours will almost certainly vary depending on how quickly or slowly you proceed through the story objectives, and probably your mission performance.
  • Based on observations from numerous players, it seems that events that involve a "random" Knight that aren't filtering on other factors, often choose from the highest ranks. There is still definitely some randomness, but the pool it draws from may in fact be the highest ranked 4-6 knights.


Lastly, if anyone is smart enough to simply data mine all of this information, you'd be my hero. I have no idea how to even begin doing something like that. You would receive full credit, naturally.

A Paladin's Quest - Call to Glory
This was encountered shortly after a primary story mission, although it's unknown if that's the trigger. I had a different Knight activate each time I checked it. The first Knight for me was an Interceptor at level 8, nearly 9. The second was a Purgator who was at 6 going on 7. The options seem fairly straight forward, but it has a lengthy resolution.

Quest
Choosing the Quest option sends the chosen Knight away for 45 days, and grants the High Morale status for your Knights for 20 days, giving them +1 WP on missions. There is a chance that the Knight may die. Mine did after 3 reloads. I suspect the RNG decides this at the time of selection. I do not know if this is more or less favorable than the Bloom option. If the Knight returns alive, they are promoted to the Paladin advanced class.

Bloom
Choosing the Bloom option also sends the chosen Knight away for 45 days, and grants +100% Resaerch Speed for 20 days. In my case, the Knight returned alive and had reduced the Corruption of a random Planet. Upon his return, he was still a Purgator.
Arrival - A Promising Lead
All information in this section courtesy of bryan_cs_liew. Thanks! This entire event is apparently either bugged or extremely random, as they tried several of the options multiple times with different and conflicting results.

It seems like there's a bug with the flavor text on this outcome. It says my Void shields are "Level 1" but I had the second level of research at the time it happened. If I had to guess, it probably interpreted my current hull integrity (4/5) instead of maximum as what my Void level is. User Ash reported even more severe results when they ACTUALLY had level 1 voids, and suffered additional damage to their Libris Malleus.

In every round of testing I received a piece of T3 equipment from the relevant category. On the surface this seems like a helpful event, but it's really kind of worthless. There's so many equipment categories that you're not likely to get something you want unless you're really hurting for ANY good equipment.

The dialogue disappeared before I could screenshot it, but you are denied future docking rights and booted back to the map. You remain locked out of construction. Several days later, you receive a penalty for delaying too long and two ship components are damaged. After this, you can resume construction projects.
According to Whatsit Tooya, there may be a glitch with this route. They waited over 100 days and did NOT have their construction ever unlock. This would be effectively a game ender, or at least a major difficulty bump.

Occurred randomly while low on Servitors. In order to trigger any selections, you must travel to the planet indicated by the Dominus.

According to BluePariah, this caused nothing to happen with the research "Domination of Kadex." For another user, Diddums, it also failed to complete the "Torpor" research, which was NOT story based. A third user, Eblingus, also had this issue. This may be more complicated than it appears, or was changed in an update after the original reporting user completed it. There is a possibility this leads to the "Servitors Corrupted - Seeds of Peril" event.

Shrouded in Storms - Anomaly Detected
Encountered while traveling to an Anomalous Planet in a Warp Storm during Days 150-200. In my case this was Ferrogar VII.

Bypass

The flavor text claimed that the Edict was teleported to a different planet in the sector, but upon returning to the map the ship hadn't moved. The planet, however, was replaced by Ferrogar VI, and had no Corruption. As I do not have access to any other sectors at time of writing, I'm unable to verify if Ferrogar VII disappeared to the Florian system as the effect claims.

Thanks to Raziel of Nosgoth for this new information on this event! Great research on their part! I will copy paste their explanation below, as it's well written.

Seems to switch two planets on the Star Map. For me it was the left-most planet Hagan VII (4 corruption) for the right-most planet Fides VI (0 corruption).

If you put a Prognosticar on the planet before the switch is made the Prognosticar will remain in the same spot but the planets will still switch.
Any corruption reducing effects will stick to the planet: Hagan VII was reduced from 4 corruption to 2 corruption by attuning with a Prognosticar before the switch. Hagan VII remained at 2 corruption after the switch. However, the Prognosticar was still in the left-most spot (Hagan VII's original position), now occupied by Fides VI, still at it's original 0 corruption.

I had the opportunity to verify this choice myself. As of Update IV the bug appears to still be active and you can choose the Prognosticar option despite not having any available, and seemingly without penalty.
Thanks to Video Games? for this information. There appears to be a possible glitch with this option in that it does not require any available Prognosticars nor does it subtract one, so it may be free. If so this is a clear, standout choice.

Focused Assault has a new 2nd option for a boarding action. It starts a unique ship-based timed mission with strategems disabled. Destroy 4 locations in 10 turns to succeed.

noted i just finished BG3 on the hardest level. however harder lvls there are not ramping lvls its just harder RNG... i love crpgs, but this is a course in attrition.

i dislike how the baddies ramp up levels faster than your men can. also requistions are kinda cheap.... there needs to be at least one or 2 more per mission. seeds arnt a problem i just started getting other color seeds and its day 275.... seems like a long grind only to be dealt death on every mission now. :steamthumbsdown: worse investment of 13 dollars. needs a easier campaign choice so i can learn the buildouts i need to focus on first. started over twice now just to make it to the same point 2 mission past the expanse ... what gets me is i heal all my toons to 100% right before the mission is over then back on the ship they are greivously wounded. what in the fuck!

IMO Ambush is extremely worth it unless you are running low on Servitors and the frigate team was supposed to gain some on the mission. On the other hand, Recover may lead to a much faster Edict upgrade - in my case, Lunete's +100% construction boost from another event was just about to end, so could be about 90 days of double construction speed straight. Finding enough Servitors though can be a serious problem with this rate.
