How to Disable Vignette Effect (and Force 16x Anisotropic Filtering)

How to easily disable the vignette effect (sides of screen are always darkened) and force 16x anisotropic filtering!

Introduction

Want to disable that awful effect that artificially darkens the side of your screen? For some reason this isn't in video settings, but you can force it off very easily.

Here's a comparison in case you're not sure what vignette means:

Step 1 - Config Folder

First you need to go to the game's configuration folder. You can easily do this by just pasting this into file explorer's address bar:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\ChernobylGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\

This will take you to this folder location:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\ChernobylGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Step 2 - Edit Engine.ini

Open Engine.ini with your favorite text editor. I use Notepad++.
At the bottom of this text file, add these two lines:

[SystemSettings]
r.Tonemapper.Quality=1

Additionally, if you want to force 16x anisotropic filtering (which has nearly zero performance hit), add this line:

r.MaxAnisotropy=16

Afterward, your Engine.ini should look similar to this:

Save the file and you're done!
