Welcome to my guide!
This guide will help you obtain every single gesture needed for the 'Gesture Maestro' achievement, the guide will be split into two simple sections; 'Default Gestures' and 'Obtainable Gestures'.
There are 20 Gestures altogether, 8 of which are default gestures (Your character will have these as soon as you create your character) and the remaining 12 you have to learn from various NPCs around the world.

The gestures will be categorised in possible order of obtaining them based on story progression, the first few sections focusing on gestures which can be learnt earlier in the game and the last few sections focusing on gestures which are learnt near the end of the game.
The Gesture Menu and how to bring it up
Before I talk about the gestures themselves I will give a quick tutorial on how to open the gesture menu to check all the gestures you currently have.
To bring up the gesture menu press
  • T (For PC - by default)
  • SHARE Button (For PlayStation 4)
  • Select Button (For Playstation 3)
  • Select Button (For Xbox One)

The gesture menu will bring up the following tab above your character:

You can further expand this menu and view all your gestures in your collection by pressing your dual handing button:
  • N (For PC - by default)
  • Triangle Button (For Playstation)
  • Y Button (For Xbox)

The fully expanded gesture menu should look like this:

If for some reason you can't bring up the menu then perhaps your buttons are binded differently. To check what your gesture buttons are bound to, you can open your settings and go over to the 5th icon and select 'key bindings' on the drop-down menu it should look something like this:

Once you've selected it move over all the way to the right and you'll see what key your gesture menu is bound to in the 'key bindings' section.

To get there take a left and you'll see a tall stone gateway which is facing directly towards the Majula bonfire. Proceed forward until you come across an area which is surrounded by leaves as well as trees (like in the picture below). Beside one of the trees you should see a man sitting with a glowing teal sword. Speak to him, learn 'Joy' gesture. He's not seen on the below screenshots because I've completed his quest in which you should also consider if you are going for 100% achievement completion.
Just ahead inside the stone structure you'll also find a petrified woman holding onto a lever. Unpetrify her using a fragrant branch of yore and you'll unlock another achievement.
