DDR V2 - Volkspolizei (1967-1980)

This pack depicts the Uniforms of the German People's Police from 1967-1980. This period saw the Volkspolizei move to the widespread use of open-collar uniforms for a more "modern" police look. Volkspolizei at this time were yet not issued the shoulder patches depicting departments. The Police would see one more uniform reform in 1980.

The German People's Police (German: Deutsche Volkspolizei, or DVP), was the primary centralized municipal policing agency of the German Democratic Republic. It oversaw all law enforcement for the nation's cities, highways, and railroads. The DVP reported directly to the Minister of the Interior, who in turn acted as the Chief of the Volkspolizei.

This Pack Includes:
A Service Uniform for all rank groups
A Great Coat Variant for all rank groups
A summer shirt uniform for all rank groups

The pack contains skins depicting different departments in the DVP, listed in order of appearance:

1. Schutzpolizei - The primary uniformed police department of the DVP. These constables patrolled cities and towns, with their primary focus being crime response and prevention.
2. Volkspolizei-Bereitschaft - The Riot Police of the DVP and the DDR overall. These constables were organized much more militaristically, in line with how a modern-day SWAT team is organized. The Bereitschaft primarily responded to riots and conducted raids on high-value targets.
3. Transportpolizei - The railway and public transportation police of the DVP. These constables patrolled train and bus stations, provided police service aboard trains, and were responsible for stopping illegal travel aboard East German transportation.
4. Strafvollzug - The prison service of the DDR. While not technically part of the Volkspolizei, reporting directly to the Ministry of the Interior, the constables of the Strafvollzug controlled the dedicated prisons of East Germany.
5. Feurwehr - The fire service of the DVP.

Uniform Design is based off of extensive research, however the models may not be 100% accurate.
