Getae Roster Expanded!

Opis
Welcome to my second mod and first unit pack. :))

It features 4 new units for the Getae faction, balanced around similar units of the vanilla game. All of them have a new custom made unit card and they are all visually cohesive with the rest of the faction.

The units added are:

- Dacian Swords: new medium infantry unit armed with celtic swords. Think of them as the Getae variant of similar units like the celtic warrior, galatian swords, etc. To recruit them you will need a lvl 2 blacksmith and upwards. I've also added a naval raider unit with them on board. To recruit this naval variant you will need to have a lvl 2 military harbour.

- Dacian Noble Riders: new heavy melee cav unit. It consist of Getae nobles riding powerfull steeds, while armed with the best weapons and armor their position can provide them. To recruit you will need a lvl 4 horse ranch and they are also available as general bodyguards.

- Falx Masters: new heavy melee infantry equipped with the deadly falx and wearing heavy dacian armor. The "lore" behind these dudes is that they don't have noble blood, they have earned their position in the tribe thanks to their skill with the falx and as warriors. To recruit them you will need a lvl 3 bronze forge and they are also available as general bodyguards. They are great units on the charge but they will start to fall if you keep them in a fight for long, and also keep them safe of enemy skirmishers!!

- Lupul Brotherhood: new berserker type unit for the getae armed with the deadly falx and wearing wolf pelts. As i was working on making units for the Getae I learned a lot about their culture and religius habits. As I' ve read they worshipped wolves and even might have called themselves "ones the same with wolves". There was a wolf brotherhood which used carefully orchestrated rituals involving wolf-pelts and psychoactive mushrooms, in order to undergo a total psychological transformation into wolves. During these altered states of consciousness they were able to meet their dead ancestors and to have premonitory visions and this was accompanied by a marked increase in physical strength. The ritual initiations in the Wolves' brotherhood were passed from Dacia to the Germanic tribes through the Celts Druids and through the Goths.
To recruit them you will need to have a lvl 3 shrine of Kotys. Dont let them be at enemy fire range and use them strategically.

In the future I will release new roster expansions for other factions, and if while i read more about the dacians I get inspired to make new units for them I will :), they had a fascinating culture.

Very fun so far! Good job of keeping the units somewhat balanced and doing research to try and keep it realistic. Ive been testing these units in Custom battles to see how balanced they are and so far so good! Put the Dacian swords up against the chosen swords men and has been a close fight. Calvary unit performs well but not over powering by no means if you leave them in melee the Galic Noble horse will win as it should be. The falxmen units may be slightly over powered, however seeing that I am using this mod to beef up Dacia so they survive, provide more variety and give me some good battles in the roman campaign thats not a problem. This mod is perfect for that. Thank you for all your hard work!!!

I finally managed to update my mods. I stumbled upon Frodo45127/rpfm which you can find here: https://github.com/Frodo45127/rpfm , it was a godsend for searching for errors which provoqued a startup crash. In the end the problem was one line per unit that had assigned some placeholder text.. But it should be working perfectly now, maybe the balance of the units needs some extra work, let me now of any problems.

well on the bright side you dont really need them at least. I was playing as Getae in Vanilla and those Falxmen do some work. As long as you have enough spears in the front to hold the line 4-5 falxmen in the real just destroys everything in sight. Very satisfying to watch them cut into the enemies and have blood spraying everywhere lol.

It's a shame this mod doesn't work. Wanted to use some armored falxmen in the Imperator Augustus campaign as Dacia.

were you ble to figure out the issue causing problems with updating the mod? I like mods like your's where you keep balance with Vanilla game instead of trying to completely overhaul it.

I would be happy to suggest, but I do not know. Ask the modders, I have already 70% of mods updated. Your mod is good, I'm really looking forward to it! ))
