USA127X2(RAT-A)
The full name of RAT is rocket assisted torpedo, which was developed by Americans in the 1950s. The torpedo used in rat "a" developed in 1952 is mark 24 torpedo; The torpedo used in rat "B" developed in 1954 is the mark 43 torpedo.

Its launcher is numbered mark 110 and is mounted on a duplex 5-inch turret. The rocket assisted torpedo is launched from the launcher, and then after the rocket consumes all the liquid fuel, the anti submarine torpedo is transferred into the sea and automatically looks for the target. Its effective range is 1500 to 3000 yards. However, the test in 1957 showed that its ballistic performance was poor and its accuracy could not meet the requirements, and then the scheme was abandoned. After improvement and put into use, ASROC, namely "anti submarine rocket".

do the torpedoes operate? Or is this weapon a cosmetic modification of a normal 5" gun?
