How to get OpenXR to work

This guide will show you how to enable OpenXR on various HMD headsets for playing VR in Phasmophobia.

Vive/Valve IndexHeadsets

1. Open Steam VR

2. Go to settings > Developer (enable Advanced settings)

3. From here make sure that the current OpenXR runtime is showing up as SteamVR

Oculus/Meta headsets

1. Open Quest Client

2. Go to Settings > General > OpenXR runtime > click Set as Oculus as active

Windows Mixed reality headsets

1. Download OpenXR tools for Windows Mixed reality from Microsoft store

2. Click on set as active runtime

Other issues with VR

Height

If you noticed that your height is way off, close the game and do room setup again to adjust your play space/guardian bound, generally this resolves the issue.


Note: Using tools like OVR can help but in very few cases can cause issues as well, your millage may vary though
