Because you're all insane and nobody seems to have done this yet - I have made this guide just for myself so I can see all of the Missable things in case I ever want to actually finish playing Dying Light 2.

Introduction
Do you HATE playing a game, getting 20 hours in then finding out you locked yourself out of something around hour 10?

I do.

So before I even try to finish this game i'm compiling a full list of "Missables" because i'll be damned if i'm going to play again only to lock myself out a second time.

Disclaimer: All individual pieces of this guide are covered elsewhere, but I want to see everything important in one place and laid out 'chronologically' without having to trawl through 50 different guides.

Please Note: This guide is a work in progress. If you know of something i've missed please note in the comments. If i'm still working on the guide i'll add it in (with credits to you), and if i'm not then other people can read your comments to help themselves :)


IMPORTANT: !!! READ THIS !!!
You will see many mentions of "complete X before finishing this main story quest'. Keep in mind that this is NOT entirely accurate. Some sidequests can be locked when 'that' main quest is still technically running, but you have progressed to a certain point.

To be safe - when you get to one of these main quests - STOP and immediately complete all the 'at-risk' sidequests before proceeding any further.
Main Mission #1 "Pilgrim's Path" (Prologue)
Missable Achievements
!!HARD MISSABLE!! - 'Archivist' Achievement
Memento - "Newspaper Article - October 11th 2020". Only obtainable in Prologue.

Semi-Missable - 'Archivist' Achievement
Memento - Paradise Lost, Book IV
Memento can be found in Prologue, but will also spawn in Open World if missed.

Main Mission #2: "Getting Stronger" (First Map Area - Bazaar etc)
As soon as you finish the Prologue and start playing the 'main' game, you need to watch out for a few things.

General Gameplay
Missable Achievements
'Ironheart' /' Fit as a Fiddle' Achievements (workaround available)
To get these achievements you must max out your Health / Stamina for the respective achievements. In normal gameplay you can only do one of these unless you hoard your upgrade points then do some save/load shenanigans.

Even in a normal playthrough you can MISS BOTH ACHIEVEMENTS if you balance your points between health and stamina.

If you want to aim for these during "proper" gameplay you will want to start planning immediately, and play through the game gimping yourself because you aren't spending all your points.

OR

Download a save file that has all the points and get the achievements easily (making sure to back up your own save). Then play the game your heart's content without worrying :)

Main Mission #4: "The Only Way Out"
After starting this Main quest a number of Side-quests will become available. If you care about sidequests - do them immediately.

Side-quest: "The ball is in your court"
Missable Sidequest
This sidequest will fail if it's not finished before 'Main Mission #9 Revolution/Into the Dark'

Story Mission 8: "Water Tower"
As soon as you encounter this story mission - STOP. There are a bunch of things that will get locked out from this point forward.

Missable Achievements
Boot Licker
As part of the "Water Tower" quest you will assign an area to a Faction. The achievement requires that you assign at least 7 of the available 9 'assignable areas' to a single faction.

Before you proceed in the game, consider which path you want to follow, because once you choose you can't take it back.

Note that there are glitch ways of getting this achievement, but you will still be locked out of the faction benefits for assigning X many areas.

Locked-out Quests

A whole bunch of quests will become missable if you proceed with the storyline.
My best suggestion is - if you care about the sidequests - complete ALL SIDEQUESTS ON THE MAP before proceeding with the Main Story.

This will be difficult as some are only visible when you stumble across them in the open world.

The sidequest "Moonshine" that becomes avaliable after 'Sotry Mission #14: Welcome on Board' is only available if you spare Jack and Joe during 'Story Mission #8: Water Tower'.

Locked-out Sidequests

The following sidequests will lock-out as soon as 'Main Mission #9: Revolution / Into the Dark' is compelted:

Missable Secret Item: The Lazarus

To obtain this item later in the game, you must tell Jack Matt what actually happened to Aitor.

Missable Sidequest

Renegades

After completing 'Main Mission #12: Orders', a sidequest "Renegades" will become available. You must complete it before finishing Main "Mission #13: Observatory" or the sidequest will fail.

Main Mission #14: "Welcome on Board"; Sidequest "Aitor"
Missable Secret Item: The Lazarus
After making the choice in Main Mission #11 (A place to call home) there will be another sidequest called "Aitor" which is recieved during Main Mission #14 "Welcome on Board".

This sidequest must be completed before Main Quest #16 "Broadcast", so you may as well just complete it immediately.

You must make the choice "I give Aitor the small petals" so that Aitor survives.

Some sidequests will be locked out depending on your choices in 'Broadcast'

Many conditions; Only available if you give control of the transmitter to FRANK during 'Broadcast'

Sidequest 'No Mercy' requires that you give control of the transmitter to JACK MATT during 'Broadcast', then agree to help Jack matt during 'Veronika'

Missable Sidequests

No Mercy
This sidequest will only be avaliable if you chose to give control of the transmitter to JACK MATT during Main Mission #16: "Broadcast", and you help JACK MATT during Main Mission #19: "Veronika"
Main Mission #22: "X13"
Missable Secret Item: Mantis Blades (Cyberpunk easter egg)
The secret item "Mantis Blades" cannot be obtained after finishing the final mission and finishing the game.

The sidequest 'The Living Dead' (which becomes available in 'Story Mission #17: 'The Shoe' will fail if not completed before finishing 'Story Mission #22: X13'

Maybe add in the fact that you can't start the Carriers questline, thus making some stuff completely missable, if you don't talk to 2 unmarked npcs. In both Peacekeepers bases, so if you choose the Survivors in the water tower quest you lose out on this completely.

You wouldn't even need the Note in the Misc Quests tab if you put that info in. Since we then can't miss it...Also, that semi-missable note is mean. It's only Semi Missable if you tell us about it late you goober

I just wish you had warned about Red Rat Run being unobtainable after the mission Revolution and siding with the Survivors. You somehow covered everything BUT that. Now I'm fucked because of that, and people in co-op sessions are dicks and don't let me check that location.

Can confirm that mission 8 "The Water Tower" doesn't lock you out of completing "sentamental value", you lose "Balls in your court", "Missing persons", "Sentamental Value", "Stolen Goods", and "Out of Your League" after "Revolution/Into The Dark"

I hate games like this, you shouldn't need to have a guide open while you play because you're afraid of missing a mission or screwing over your character.

Cant complete the Matchmaker quests if you haven't done the Sentimental Value side quest first. (With the little girl called Maya). I could be wrong though!
