As far as tips go, you may have heard this a lot already but use photo reference, especially when practicing. And for poses/anatomy I also recommend 3D models, especially if you know how to use a 3D program and can pose some yourself (Blender + Makehuman comes to mind as a free combo). There are also pose repositories online like 3d.sk (nudity warning btw) and Posemaniacs.

Even tracing photos can be really helpful - that was how I got my start. Good luck with your art!
