Influence Basics and Tips
You can influence each and every one of your companions in order to get various bonuses from them, which will help you with your walkthrough, and which will make the story more complete.
Some characters require a lot of talk or interaction with them on Ebon Hawk, and some just like to see your actions more than hearing your words. A little more about it later.

Depending on each planet and location, there is a certain choice you should make in terms of choosing who will accompany you on that exact location, because, for example, on Nar Shaddaa there are a lot of Gain Influence opportunities for Atton and Bao-Dur, yet there are a lot of Lose Influence opportunities for Kreia.
Most of the time you will be able to change your party configuration, you can use that ability to gain influence on many of your companions.

Sometimes the influence gain is only possible when there is only one specific party member in your party.
Say, you can't gain influence with Atton while speaking to a certain character if another character (Bao-Dur for example) is in your party. In such occasions you have to decide with who you want to get influence with.

You will need a lot of Awareness and Persuade skills on your main character in order to unlock some influence-checks.

Also past a certain point of gained influence (say, if Kreia told you about her and Revan's past) - you don't really need to gain influence with that character anymore, because you got everything possible from that character, and the only things you need to worry about are not to lose influence with that exact character and also gaining influence with other characters.

There will be a lot of words about high influence and being a Light-Side Jedi.
Since I am not a big fan of Dark Side playthroughs, I cannot say for sure if you need to bump up the influence of your companions on the Dark Side playthrough. If I am wrong here - I am ready to accept any criticism or improvements down in the comments.

I won't be covering the "Lose Influence" options in the Influence spots, because:
A) Those options are pretty much obvious
B) I don't see any point in doing that
C) "Gain Influence" options are sometimes much more harder to get.

If your dialogue differs from the steps described in the guide - it means you chose the wrong option while talking to a certain character. Reload the save file in such occasion.

NOTE: Unfortunately, TSLRCM modification removes most of the Influens Gained options on planets from characters such as Kreia and Mandalore. If you search other influence spots on the Internet and will wonder why won't they work - well, because of the mods.
Best companions for each location
This is a list of characters you should pick for each planet to get the most of their characters story-wise, and to Gain Influence with them
You can also make sure who to pick depending on the Influence Spots list in the bottom of this guide.

For the Dark Siders - Kreia in your party can sometimes help you not to lose influence with other characters while massacring people physically and/or mentally.

Peragus - Kreia and Atton
You don't really have much choice, and you can also gain influence with both.

Telos (Citadel) - Kreia and Atton
Once again, not much of a choice

Telos (Grounds) - Bao-Dur and Kreia/Atton
Bao-Dur is mandatory, you cannot change that, and the second party member is either Kreia or Atton. Your choice, no influence checks here.

Telos (Academy)- Kreia and Atton
Both have some dialogues when you talk or fight wtih Handmaidens, and Bao-Dur, logically, needs a rest, so...

Dantooine - Kreia/Atton, Bao-Dur
Depends on your walkthrough. Visas, Disciple and Handmaiden don't have a lot of impact here really, so the choice is between Kreia, Bao-Dur and Atton. There are 3 exact situations where you can get influence for each of those companions without losing influence with another.

Nar Shaddaa - Kreia, Atton, Bao-Dur/Handmaiden/Disciple
Atton and Bao-Dur are essential here if you want to gain influence with them.
You will lose a lot of influence with Kreia if you are playing Light Side or with Bao-Dur/Handmaiden/Disciple if you are playing Dark Side.
Sometimes you will need Kreia to accompany you in order to learn some life lessons, and, more importantly, to protect your point of view of helping and protecting random people in order to gain influence with either Atton, Bao-Dur, Handmaiden or Disciple, depending on who is in your party.

G0-T0 Yacht - Atton, T3-M4/Mira
It actually depends on how leveled up your characters are. Without Disable Droid power you won't feel too comfortable there.
If your characters are leveled up good enough - then take Atton for the dialogue and story, and T3-M4 - he will get an upgrade here. Mira is a good alternative, too.

Dxun - Bao-Dur, Kreia, Mira
You will need Bao-Dur because there are a lot of places and quests tied to Demolitions, Security and Repair. Kreia is essential story-wise, and there is also an influence-check spot for Mira.

Onderon (Iziz) - Mandalore, HK-47/Bao-Dur/Handmaiden/G0-T0
Mandalore is mandatory, and there are multiple influence spots for Bao-Dur, Handmaiden and G0-T0.

Korriban - Visas, Atton/Mira/HK-47
No influence checks here, and also Kreia cannot accompany you there, but she will still be with you through the Force.
Visas is for aesthetics mainly, and Atton/Mira/HK-47 can speak a monologue or two regarding the situation

M4-78 (Radiation) - HK-47
If you have M4-78 modification installed - then for the first time pick HK-47.
You will need to fight sometimes, G0-T0 ain't the best character to pick, and T3-M4's dialogues will consist of beeping and booping, which is not an entertaining thing to watch.

M4-78 - G0-T0, Bao-Dur/T3-M4/HK-47
There is one exact influence check spot for G0-T0, and all of your droids can be upgraded upon completing a certain quest. Bao-Dur is once again needed for his tech and demolitions knowledge

Dxun Temple - Atton, Bao-Dur, Mira/Visas
Atton is mandatory as it is an important point in his story, especially if you've converted him to Jedi/Dark Jedi
Bao-Dur is mandatory too, due to his tech knowledge once again
Mira or Visas will be useful, they also have some dialogue too.

Onderon (Civil War) - Kreia, Bao-Dur/Mandalore
Kreia is mandatory, Bao-Dur is needed for his tech skills. Mandalore is optional for the aesthetics and some minor dialogue, IMO: not worth it.

Kreia

Kreia

Neutral character, likes to manipulate people and likes to turn the odds in her favor. Does everything to achieve her plans.
Not the average-personality person: she thinks about everything from a side-point, doesn't take anything on her account except the situations when she tries to teach you something.
Adores betrayal, sacrifice and personal gain.

Force Side: Neutral

Influence difficulty:
Light Side: Hard - Touchy choices have to be made
Dark Side: Hard - Touchy choices have to be made

Gain influence:
  • Listen to her advices, agree with everything she says and with everything she wants to teach you.
  • If she condemns you - accept her judgements and say that you'll improve
  • Manipulate the odds into your favour: lie to people, maintain the overall balance, control the situation by agreeing to help both sides of the conflicts and so on.
Lose influence:
  • Disagree with everything she says, do not even consider her point of view
  • Light Side: Help everyone you can with Kreia in your party.
  • Dark Side: Kill everyone you have the ability to kill with Kreia in your party.
High Influence Pros:
  • Kreia will tell you about her and Revan's past.
  • The game's story will be more complete.
  • Experience points
  • Dark Side Points
High Influence Cons:
  • To gain influence with Kreia, you will have to choose options which give you Dark Side points, and the influence-checks with Kreia are thrown everywhere around the game. If you are a Dark Side player - this won't be a problem for you. But if you are a Light Side player - you will have to compensate those Dark Side points quite oftenly.
Low Influence Pros:
  • Light Side Points
Low Influence Cons:
  • One of the main characters of the game will stop trusting you, which ruins the story in some aspects

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kreia - Influence Spots
Influence Spots:

Peragus - Harbinger

After entering the Harbinger, in the end of the dialogue Kreia will say "Our enemies gather while we wait here"
To gain influence with Kreia, simply choose the very first option.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Telos - Anywhere

WARNING: You will get Dark Side points for this influence check.

While this dialogue happens not exactly on Telos, it is recommended to have it as early as possible to gain some extra influence with Kreia.
If you have Force Allignment of 20% towards the Light Side and you will speak with Kreia, she will say this:

Then, you need to proceed until this option appears. Choose it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ebon Hawk - Handmaiden

WARNING: You will get Dark Side points for this influence check. Watch this article carefully to compensate the points.

If you are playing as a Male character, Handmaiden will join your party after you leave the Telos academy.
If you talk with Kreia after that - she will have this topic to talk about:

If you are a Light-Side player, you will get Dark Side points for further actions. Choose the first or second option first to somehow compensate that.

Then choose one of those two options (the third one is recommended):

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ebon Hawk - Visas Marr

After Visas Marr joins your party, if you will try to talk to Kreia - she will say this:

Then proceed until this option pops up. Choose it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ebon Hawk - Lesson 1

After the encounter with Visas Marr, talk with Kreia about the answer you seek

Choose this option

IMPORTANT: Choose the second option!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After Lesson 1, ask Kreia about the Force.

Then choose this option:

IMPORTANT: Choose the first option!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ebon Hawk - Visas's Master

WARNING: You will get Dark Side points for this influence check.

After Visas Marr joins your party, talk to her regarding the question of who sent her:

Then come back to Kreia, ask for the answers and choose those options:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dantooine - Enclave Sublevels

WARNING: You will get Dark Side points for this influence check.

Upon entering the sublevels of the former Jedi Enclave, go to the right and here you will find a closed door with Laigreks surrounding it. DO NOT kill them just yet, run past them and interact with the door.

Interact with it, and you will hear Jorran in here. Select the [Lie] option

Kreia will comment on that, follow the dialogue.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dantooine - Upon the exit from Kinrath Caves

After you free Master Vrook - leave the Kinrath Caves. Upon doing that, Azkul will meet you, and if you have sided with Khoonda Militia before - follow this dialogue:

Or if you prefer the Dark Side:

Kreia - Net Influence Shifts options
Atton

Atton

Younger and more relatable version of Han Solo. A brother-in-arm or a love interest, depending on the gender of your character.
Likes Pazaak, always looks for a fight, sometimes attracts problems.
Likes to be trusted, doesn't want to talk about himself, also conceited: always looks for someone to appreciate or respect his skills.
Ironically enough, easy to trick him into trusting you, especially if you are a Dark Side player.

Force Side: Both

Influence difficulty:
Light Side: Easy - Can be done by just doing good stuff while he is in your party.
Dark Side: Easy - Can be done by persuading him that ''killing people is good''.

Gain influence:
  • Comment on his skills positively whenever it is possible
  • Light Side: Help everyone you can
  • Dark Side: Kill everyone you can, if Atton asks you why - explain that ''this is the right thing to do''
  • Doesn't like people asking about his past. If he starts to get annoyed - apologize and get off his back
Lose influence:
  • Reproach and condemn his offers, skills and personal issues. Do not trust him, threaten him with death
  • Use Force Persuade on him to try to learn his secrets
  • Be annoying and bother him with the questions regarding his past
High Influence Pros:
  • Experience points
  • Atton becomes a Jedi Sentinel or Dark Jedi Sentinel
  • You can learn about Atton's past, which adds to the game's story
High Influence Cons:
  • None
Low Influence Pros:
  • Atton becomes a Force User opposite of your Force alignment (if played correctly)
  • If your influence is low enough compared to Disciple, you can earn Cupid's Rifle achievement by talking to HK-47 regarding the understanding of love.

Listen to HK-47's definition of love
Low Influence Cons:
  • You lose a potential Jedi
  • You basically lose one of the only people you can really trust
  • He will fight Disciple if you are playing as a Female character
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jedi Conversion:
When running around Refugee Camp on Nar Shaddaa with Atton in your party, eventually a cutscene with two Twileks talking about Atton will play. You can talk to them and they will claim that he is not the person we know and that he hides something.

From now on if we have good influence with Atton - we can talk to him about his past and about what he is hiding. He will tell you everything about his past, and then he will say that he wishes to be a Jedi/Dark Jedi, and from that exact moment he becomes a Jedi Sentinel or Dark Jedi Sentinel

It is also adviced to get him to either Level 11 or Level 17 Scoundrel before converting him into a Jedi, in order for him to get his unique feats that will help him to stay on his own.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Influence Spots:

Peragus - Harbinger

After entering the Harbinger, in the end of the dialogue Kreia will say "Our enemies gather while we wait here"
To gain influence with Atton, simply choose the third option.

Bao-Dur

Bao-Dur

A soldier which served under your leadership in Mandalorian Wars. Treats you with respect, by calling you General and willing to follow you everywhere.
A tech-specialist, likes for his skills to be treated with respect as much as Atton does, likes the offers to tinker with computers and stuff

Force Side: Light Side

Influence difficulty:
Light Side: Easy - Can be done just by doing good things.
Dark Side: Hard - He will be unsatisfied with every your Dark Side deed.

Gain influence:
  • Comment on his skills positively whenever it is possible, trust in them
  • Calm him down when he starts blaming himself for whatever reason there may be
  • Do everything light-sided which may help the Republic or the Jedi
  • Help anyone you can, show compassion and mercy to characters, solve everything peacefully
  • Protect the Light Side choices you make
Lose influence:
  • Condemn his actions, blame him for his whining
  • Kill everyone you can, refuse to help anyone
High Influence Pros:
  • Bao-Dur becomes a Jedi Guardian or Dark Jedi Guardian
  • Bao-Dur trusts you, and still treats you as a great general
High Influence Cons:
  • Though it isn't exactly a con, but him being Jedi doesn't make much use for you: because of his prosthetical arm he cannot wear armor which allows Force Powers to be used, leading to half of the Force Powers to be practically blocked for him to use
Low Influence Pros:
  • Bao-Dur becomes a Force User opposite of your Force alignment (if played correctly)
Low Influence Cons:
  • You basically lose one of the only people you can really trust
  • You lose another potential Jedi.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jedi Conversion:
You have to talk with Bao-Dur oftenly. He will constantly ask you about Mandalorian Wars, and he will also share that he feels responsible for what he had done. You need to calm him down everytime, building up the influence. When your influence with him is high enough, go back to the Ebon Hawk, and this dialogue will pop up:

If you proceed to calm him down, this option will also appear:

And then he becomes Jedi Guardian or Dark Jedi Guardian

It is also adviced to get him to either Level 11 or Level 14 Tech Specialist before converting him into a Jedi, in order for him to get his unique feats that will help him to stay on his own and to help you with your walkthrough.

WARNING: Please, consider picking his Force Powers carefully. Bao-Dur cannot wear any unrestrictive armor besides Miner Uniform because of his arm, and therefore half the Force Powers are blocked for him. Look out for Restricted by Armor powers.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Influence Spots:
Handmaiden

Handmaiden

Replaces Disciple in your playthrough if you play as a Male character
Atris' handmaiden, who was ordered by Atris to follow the protagonist to understand his motives, ends up being influenced by him like everyone else.
Very jealous and sensitive, has her reasons for it

Force Side: Light Side

Influence difficulty:
Light Side: Easy - Can be done just by talking on the Ebon Hawk
Dark Side: Medium

WARNING: Gain influence with Handmaiden before gaining influence with Visas. If you won't gain influence with Handmaiden in time - she will get offended and won't talk to you at all.

Gain influence:
  • Have sparring matches with her whenever it is possible (Level ?, 14, 18)
  • Ask her to put her clothes back after dueling to unlock some other part of the dialogues
  • Agree to answer all of her questions, provide the most informative answer possible
  • Carefully ask about her persona when possible
  • Avoid insulting Atris or her academy overall
  • Help everyone you can, show compassion
  • After dueling with her and getting some sort of dialogue regarding Handmaiden's parents, talk with Kreia regarding the Handmaiden accompanying you. Then speak with Handmaiden again.

Lose influence:
  • Disrespect her personality, Atris and everything she stands for
  • Do not gain influence with Handmaiden at all, talk with Visas more
  • Do the opposite of helping everybody: kill everybody and such

High Influence Pros:
  • Handmaiden provides her mother's robe as a unique armor
  • Handmaiden becomes a Jedi Guardian or a Dark Jedi Guardian
  • Handmaiden doesn't need a lightsaber since she is trained in Echani: combat without weapons
  • You won't regret this in end-game

High Influence Cons:
  • None

Low Influence Pros:
  • If your influence is low enough compared to Visas, you can earn Cupid's Rifle achievement by talking to HK-47 regarding the understanding of love.

Listen to HK-47's definition of love
Low Influence Cons:
  • You lose yet another potential Jedi
  • You lose every possible connection to Handmaiden
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Influence Spots:

Peragus - Harbinger
Disciple

Disciple

  • His Consular class makes him very useful in terms of Force Powers.

Listen to HK-47's definition of love
High Influence Cons:

  • You lose yet another potential Jedi

Visas Marr
Darth Nihilus servant and slave who was sent to kill you, but ends up accompanying you. Dead inside.

Force Side: Light Side

Influence difficulty:
Light Side: Easy - Can be done just by talking on the Ebon Hawk
Dark Side: Hard - She got abused by her master enough as is, and you are making it even worse.

WARNING: Before gaining influence with Visas - make sure you've gotten the maximum influence possible with Handmaiden, otherwise Handmaiden will be lost to you.

Gain influence:
  • Show compassion for her, when she waits for you to harm/kill/abuse her - do the opposite and calm her down. Ask if she's all right
  • Overall, ironically enough, despite her being a Sith servant - gaining influence with her is possible only by doing Light Side stuff

Lose influence:
  • Insult her, insult Darth Nihilus (her master) and do the dark side stuff.

High Influence Pros:
  • Visas Marr is one of the main sources of Light Side Points
  • You learn the Force Sight mechanic, which you can also teach your other companions
  • In the end of the story she will confess to you
  • Contradictory to the fact below, if you have lower influence with Handmaiden - a Cupid's Rifle achievement is possible by talking to HK-47 regarding the understanding of love.

Listen to HK-47's definition of love

High Influence Cons:
  • If you have significantly more influence with Visas than Handmaiden - Handmaiden will be lost to you

Low Influence Pros:
  • None

Low Influence Cons:
  • You lose the opportunity to learn Force Sight, thus preventing you from getting the Your Eyes Can Deceive You achievement

    Learn Force Sight

T3-M4

T3-M4

Yet another character from the first game.
The Old Republic's R2-D2. No further explanation needed.

Force Side: Light Side

Influence difficulty:
Light Side: Easy - Can be done just by talking on the Ebon Hawk
Dark Side: Hard - He doesn't like evil guys.

ADVICE: Honestly, it is not worth it to take him somewhere on the planets. He doesn't have such of a big impact on the story, and all the influence can be earned on the Ebon Hawk.
ADVICE 2: You won't get much from T3-M4 if you don't invest in Computer Use and Repair Skills.
ADVICE 3: In all honesty, you don't need him as much when you have Bao-Dur leveled up.

Gain influence:
  • You have to care about the little droid. He is adorable, gets the job done, and appreciates that you don't treat him as a trash compactor
  • Show compassion for the friends he have lost
  • Take him on the planets, take good care of the other droids

Influence Spots:

Peragus - Harbinger
HK-47

HK-47
Rhetorical Question: Do I really need to explain what kind of droid HK-47 is?
Yet another character from the first game. In order to rebuild him, you need to kill the HK-50 droid on the Peragus, and then kill 3 more HK-50 squads, collecting the necessary parts from them

Force Side: Dark Side

Influence difficulty:
Light Side: Hard - HK-47 likes all sorts of violence, which isn't really the kindest thing in the galaxy
Dark Side: Easy - HK-47 is all into the unnecessary and necessary violence!

Gain influence:
  • When talking about war and stuff - choose the darkest and the most violent options possible
  • Be abusive towards him: when he asks you for permission to ask about something - shut him up, then you will be able to ask him about the question he had later. Also, threaten to scrap him.
  • Contradict to the previous statement: when the topic is about how droids are treated like furniture - tell him otherwise. HK-47 respects violence and brutality, but he has feelings too, you know
Lose influence:
  • Talk about how war is bad, how killing is bad, how you feel sorry about all the bad things you've done, help other people and so on, you get the idea
High Influence Pros:
  • You can hear a great story of self-defense against Jedi and how to hunt them down.
  • You can hear yet another story regarding Revan's adventures and Mandalorian Wars
  • If HK-47 respects you - then you are the true chad.
High Influence Cons:
  • A lot of Dark Side points for a Light-Sided character
Low Influence Pros:
  • You can dissapoint HK-47 so much, that he will tell you everything he knows because he starts to think that you are so weak and easy to get rid off that nothing bad will happen if he tells you everything
Low Influence Cons:
  • If HK-47 disrespects you - then you are a simp.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

G0-T0 (Goto)

G0-T0 (Goto)
G0-T0 is a droid created by the Galactic Republic to control and aid the restoration of Telos IV, but things happen, and with the AI of his he got loose and became uncontrollable. Now he, despite being a crime lord, seeks to aid Galactic Republic any way possible.

Force Side: Dark Side

Influence difficulty:
Light Side: Hard - G0-T0 doesn't really like the idea of mercy and compassion, thinking that it obliterates all the power and respect qualities
Dark Side: Easy - G0-T0 adores power, respect and determination.

Gain influence:
  • As much as Atton and Bao-Dur, he likes his skills being appreciated and treated with respect
  • You have to aid the Republic any way possible to gain G0-T0's influence
  • Determination and persuading others also perform an impression on him
Lose influence:
  • Talk about how war is bad, how killing is bad, that you have to be merciful and stuff.
High Influence Pros:
  • You can deduce his true identity and pop yourself a nice little rare achievement: You ARE The Droid I'm Looking For

    Deduce G0-T0's Identity
High Influence Cons:
  • A lot of Dark Side points for a Light-Sided character
Low Influence Pros:
  • None

If I use a mod to never fail influence checks will that still lock me out of turning some companions into jedi if I favor one of the other, or will it always guarantee as long as I choose the right dialogue options? (Like talking more to Visas Mar over the Handmaiden)

i also investigated Telos surface Czerka employee
if you party manipulate:
Kreia takes priority 1st
Atton 2nd
Bao 3rd

so if you wanna influence with Bao-dur kick everyone else from party right before where that guy wanna go

Hi. Do you want to continue writing this guide?
SCARaw Jun 15, 2023 @ 1:18pm
Guide is not complete
on telos ground there is czerka employee stuck there
you can help him for atton points or murder him for atton points and kreia - i don't like psychotic actions points/no points

Just wanted to comment on the Visas part, you can actually win points with her by doing psychotic choices (Killing people) It's the same scenario with Atton. I think you can win with her anyway you can, just don't be abusive.
