SPOILERS HIDDEN IF WISH TO FIND YOURSELF

New Locations (South West direction):

Balcony Biome accessed by climbing the vine inside the Iridium Cave (requires just over 700 MTI to appear)

Meteor Crate Biome in the South West is accessed by going through the Pulsar Quartz Cave OR Zeolite Cave.

New Objects
- Pulsar Shard (recycle a Pulsar Quartz to get some)

New POIs
- Arch Biome Co ords: 545 : 141 : 2350
- Meteor Crater #1 Co ords: -305 : 4 : 1342
- Meteor Crater #2 Co ords: -580 : 87 : 1520

Golden Crate #12
Co ords: 707 : 155 : 1887

Once on top of the Sand Falls, you need to move left and go around this rock going through the dust.
Follow the rock around (like a U turn) and you should see the crate in front.

4 (Hidden) New Achievements:
- Golden flower
- The Pink Rare Ore
- Fusion Energy
- A Door ?

Changes:
- North direction on the map is now pointing to the top of the map (instead of North being to the left)
- Auto saves every 15 minutes (?)
- Ore Extractor T2 recipe change, now requires a Super Alloy Rod instead of 3x Super Alloy

Player Spawn Map

4 landing sites to choose from:

* Standard - easy starting location, large flat surface up hill and central to special resources and ship wrecks.
DANGER of base needing to be relocated later on if build near your crashed pod (SEE IMAGES BELOW).

* Sand Falls - medium flat surface to build but trade off is far from some special resources and ship wrecks.

* Grand Rift - narrow build areas due to rock formations but somewhat central to special resources and ship wrecks.

---Added in V0.4.011---
* Meteor Crater - uneven terrain and essentially isolated from the rest of the map until you melt the ice in the Ice Caves.
Not recommend as a starting point if playing for the first time.

Special Resource Map

Understanding Basic Stats

= Health AND Hunger (eat food to recover)

= Hydration level (drink water to recover)

= Oxygen level (refill inside crashed pod, using an Oxygen Canister or inside player-built buildings like Living Compartments)

-------
600 : 1 : 682 Co ord(inate)s - used to mark many locations in this guide

600 = Going NORTH increases this number, SOUTH decreases
1 = Height of current player position on map
682 = Going WEST increases this number, EAST decreases
-------

4 = Graphics Quality Level (0 Low - 5 Maximum)

40 = Frame Rate

Terraformation Index amount is calculated by:
Oxygen Total + Heat Total + Pressure Total + Biomass Total
(Build the Screens - Terraforming to see your individual totals)

Example:
1,000 ppq + 1,000 pK + 1,000 nPa + 1,000 g = 4,000 TI (4 KTI)

There are no penalties for excessive amounts for either terraforming category, so best to keep gathering as much as possible to raise your Terraformation Index

Meteor Shower Types
Every now and then a meteor shower can happen. While they do bring new resources to the land, they are also dangerous if they do manage to hit you (small chance but not impossible).
You can either safely watch from inside your base, watch the impacts happen on the Screens - Mapping or run around outside to each impact site as they happen (be careful not to get trapped under the falling rocks after an impact happens).

It's advised to collect the resources soon after the meteor shower has passed (especially if you planned on exiting the game) as the resources despawn over time and when you exit the game.
If a resource is out of reach or under a rock, the rocks SLOWLY despawn over time which can allow you to get it on the next visit.

Common

Trigger: Small random chance, seems to happen more often early game when collecting a lot of the resources on the ground.

Appears like you are about to be in another sand storm but dots start appearing in the sky and ORANGE meteors appear.
Drops all the common resources but also does have a small chance to drop Aluminium.

Iridium

Trigger: Launching a Magnetic Field Protection Rocket and very small random chance.

A yellow haze starts to appear and RED meteors starts falling.
About 6 Iridium spawn near each meteor impact site.

Uranium

Trigger: Launching a Asteroids Attraction Rocket and very small random chance.

A yellow haze starts to appear and GREEN meteors starts falling.
About 6 Uranium spawn near each meteor impact site.

Super Alloy

Trigger: Small random chance to start appearing when reaching a certain stage / Terraforming Index (seen at Moss stage / 200 MTI).

GREENISH / PURPLE meteors start appearing and plummet to the ground leaving very small rock debris that despawns quickly.
Be quick to harvest as the Super Alloy despawns very quickly. You may get about 12 - 14 TOTAL before you no longer find anymore.

Osmium / Sulfur

Trigger: Small random chance to start appearing when reaching a certain stage / Terraforming Index (seen at Moss stage / 200 MTI).

Sky turns into a blue haze and BLUE meteors appear.
Each impact site has about 3-4 Osmium type and Sulfur type.

TIPS + SECRETS
--General Tips
*Base Location: The first instinct is to build your base near your drop pod which isn't recommended if you picked Landing Site: Standard.
Later on when the planet starts to create water and eventually a lake, the area you start is going to fill up and you'll need to move your base.
It's better to start the base up the hill (marked by the stone triangle) from the beginning to avoid the hassles.

*Oxygen: Oxygen Canister is good for emergency oxygen but an upgraded Oxygen Tank and shelters scattered around is better.

*Ship Wreck Shelters: Build a shelter outside each ship wreck to help with oxygen levels when exploring them.
If discovered any Blueprint Microchips, it's easy to build the Screens - Blueprint item and research in the shelter, freeing up space to take resources back to base.

*Equipment: Always worth the effort to upgrade your equipment like Oxygen Tanks and Backpacks.

*Higher Tiers: Better to build the higher Tier version of a building, especially ones that generate power. I don't deconstruct lower Tier buildings unless I desperately need the resources to build the higher Tier version.

*Shelter Trick: If you wish to really explore great distances but worried about Oxygen, you'll need the Microchip - Deconstruction (if don't have already) and just carry the resources for a shelter and door (3 Iron, 2 Titanium and 1 Silicon).
When low on Oxygen, build the shelter with the door, go inside and wait for the Oxygen to refill, then simply deconstruct the shelter getting back 100% of the resources.

*Water Bottles / Ice: Building the Atmospheric Water Collection means you don't need to harvest Ice to turn into water, it's ready to drink and stores up to 4 bottles. Eventually the Ice no longer appears due to Terraforming but able to convert Water Bottles into Ice using the Recycling Machine.

*Compact Storage: A Recycling Machine can break down an item into the core components which I find useful for the Iridium, Uranium and Super Alloy Rods. I'll craft a rod (which uses up 9 resources) and store the rod which uses only 1 storage spot. If I need the Iridium / Uranium / Super Alloy then I'll break it down back into the resources.
I find this is a very efficient way to store ALOT of Iridium, Uranium and Super Alloy.

*Food: Build at least 2 Food Growers purely to eat. Beans are the ideal type because it offers the most and it's not used in any crafting.
Build at least 1 Food Grower for the other types and store the harvests into a dedicated locker for crafting later.
Store at least 4 Seeds of each type so you can adjust for demand.

*Extractors: Build an Ore Extractor in the Iridium Cave and one in the Aluminium Field (get about 4-6 Iridium / Aluminum per full box).

*Cleanup: Exiting a game removes all resources from meteor showers, so be sure you collected everything from them before exiting. Sometimes resources are inaccessible because of the debris, but the rocks SLOWLY despawn so check the area again and it should be less.

*Jetpack vs Jumping Gaps: A jetpack allows you to hover above the ground but trying to jetpack over a gap causes you to drop down to the ground and hover. It's better to run and jump resorting to the jetpack only to prevent fall damage.

*Patience: Waiting to open crates later can give you better stuff as it can be affected by your terraforming progress.

Ahhh, thanks for the Dunes Uranium photo! I was looking around the rocky north side and completely forgot to check the water side.

One thing I have noticed about the Osmium meteor showers, is that they seem to come in pairs. I always get two of them in a row, never an osmium, then some other kind. The first shower has more osmium, the second has more sulfur.

Awesome quality guide, thanks for all the hard work!
Gwen The Goblin Jun 10, 2022 @ 6:53pm
Found something new, once you've advanced far enough that the vine appears in the iridium cave, vines will also appear in the canyon where the scav ship is. They go up the three rock columns, with the one closest to the ship holding a standard chest. Didn't find anything on the other two, but since the vines are there, maybe in the future.

the loot you can find in the boxes is determined by how far along terraforming you are, save some chests for late game for some good stuff
