This mod will allow you to play the game as an unlanded character. Start the game as a landless homeless person, and work your way to the top


*This mod is heavily inspired by Rise To Power*

• First, pick any character (You can create your own ruler)
  
• After picking a ruler, right click on any landless person or your liege to abdicate your titles to them (You can also switch to any landless character you want by right clicking them, just make sure they're not lowborn)
  
• When you become landless, press F9 and click the button that says "Leave observer"
  
• You can hold F11 to tick time, or press it once to tick by only one day (This is the only way I could make time pass while landless, it might lag for the first time, but it will then continue smoothly)
  
• Take the decision to select your social status (Start as a Lowborn or Low nobility)
  
• Interact with rulers by right clicking them, take decisions as you wish

• Begin the game as an unlanded noble, or start from the lowest of the low, an illiterate Lowborn!
  
• Visit ANY ruler's court by right clicking them, you will then appear as a guest in their court and they might decide to recruit you if you are skilled enough or are inspired
  
• You can leave the court you are in by taking the "Leave court" decision (It has a cooldown)
  
• Interact with landed bishops (baron or above) to join their church. You will take the vows and become a priest.
  
• Bribe the head of faith to gurantee you any positions in the church (guaranteed to succeed your theocratic liege)
  
• Search for a Mercenary Band and take on a mercenary contract in exchange for a hefty sum of cash
  
• Interact with holy order leaders to join their ranks! Bribe the pope for a guranteed chance to become the next order captain
  
• Once you visit a court, you can Search for a job. Gain a small amount of gold every time you work
  
• Start a populist faction and rise up against your liege if you are oppressed (Must be a courtier of your liege, have a differing faith and have the Oppressed modifier) *If you experience bugs with moving your army check the dedicated section to this bug below*
  
• This mod also features the ability to start normal Peasant Factions, if you want to stop paying extra taxes as a lowborn (Must be a courtier of your liege and have the Oppressed modifier)
  
• Spend prestige to gain an inspiration, visit rich courts and they may hire you for gold (Requires at least 10 martial or 9 learning)
  
• After gathering enough gold, you can buy a house. This is the first step towards money making. Gather more gold and you can buy a farm, shop, etc
  
• Finally, after gathering a certain amount of gold, interact with a (feudal/clan) baron or petition your liege to offer to buy a random county for 1000 gold. Your landless journey will come to an end here
  
• After obtaining 500 gold as a baron, interact with your liege to buy a spare county, your true rise to power will begin here
  
• If you are tribal, you can instead spend 700 prestige to gather support from your liege's populace (Duke or below). After 6 years have passed, you can stoke a claim on your liege's title and duel them for the throne

• Fix the character sometimes moving to another court by itself

Before exiting the game to main menu, press f9 and make sure to go back into observer mode! Otherwise the game might crash

To save the game, press F9 and click the button in yellow that says "Save game". To continue, you must find your character again with character searcher after loading the game and picking another ruler, then use the "Switch character" interaction on them. (Saving doesn't support unlanded characters, so this is a workaround). It is recommended to save often on major events (I.E becoming landed), and keep the game on 1 speed (for when you become landed) for maximum stability


My army moves by itself/keeps disbanding!

If you experience this bug as a baron/uprising leader, use the "switch character" interaction on another character and then switch back to yourself. This process will take no more than 3 seconds
If you can't raise your army as a baron then you will have to switch to a new character, pass a few days until the army raises by itself then switch back

Suggestions/Notification messages are invisible when playing as a baron/unlanded!

Pass a couple weeks or a month of in-game time, save and reload then switch back to your own character

Since this mod changes a lot, It may not work with a lot of other mods. Though I recommend using the freecam for royal court mod to see yourself in your liege's court better
