Beschreibung
This is a Facelift of Cold Stream, called "Lukewarm Stream". I'm bad at naming things.
Anyhow. Mostly still the same as the original, except it looks nicer.

Note: This seems to be prone to crashes for people who have a lot of mods installed.
I'd have to reduce draw distance quite a lot to "properly" have it running without crashes for those guys.


Overall Changes
  • Skidmark water dispalcement swapped for Refracting model of water. (no slowdown)
  • World textures swapped
  • Lighting swapped
  • Restores the cut Zombat music, by including This mod by Cuba
Alpinecreek
  • Bunker entrance remodeled to be an actual event, rather than opening the gate by one foot and jumping in.
  • Bunker inside remodeled
  • Swapped out of place bridge with a custom broken bridge model to look more immersive.
Southpine Stream
  • Removed blinding glare in tunnel
  • Replaced weird wooden stair ramp thing with a custom ladder model
  • Moved tank spawn further ahead
  • Swapped bridge event for one where you use a truck to smash the fences
  • Remodeled staircase at end of map
Memorialbridge
  • Remodeled suspension bridge to use a model instead of "Move_rope" entities. (Can be walked on by SI Players)
  • Swapped "Exploding Tanker" for a military blockade.
  • Removed Alarm car event after bridge.
  • Added a Crescendo at the very beginning of the bridge.
  • Added ammo and weapons on middle of bridge, to balance the ammo spent on the crescendo event.
  • Slightly remodeled Lot
Cut Throat Creek
  • Swapped Warehouse at beginning for a picnic area (Stolen from Death Toll because IDGAF)
  • Removed Gauntlet event. The ravine is now a basic traversed location to the finale. Tank and witch may spawn.
  • Highly modified finale to be a basic "Wait for rescue" finale. Uses 3 random item spawnpoints.
  • Finale uses a script that makes it way easier on easy difficulties, and harder on harder difficulties. Because the high ground you get is OP, therefore throwing more infected your way on harder difficulties.

The Memorial bridge Army blockade and the Cut Throat Creek Finale location are survival maps.
Honestly, the bridge is kinda boring, but the Finale survival is pretty fun.

There's still the forced tank spawns close to their default spawn points, but they can spawn naturally as well.

Do witches and tanks spawn normally like on every other campaign? The no witches rule was some real special snowflake bollocks.

oh i do know how to fix them. Making all the small props fade away sooner, utilizing more harsh func_arewaportalwindow entities.

Problem is just that with that little fog on the map, having stuff just fade out looks bad and i specifically wanted it to look nice. So i made the conscious decision to make optimization take a back seat.

Map 1 seems really unstable, especially at the beginning. Of the three times I crashed during the campaign, all of them were on the first map, with two of them occurring right when you first encounter infected. Ended up unsubscribing from all my mods and changing graphics settings to recommended options (never touched them before previously). Campaign seemed fine performance-wise after that.

Additionally, bots did get stuck a few times. The house with the one-way drop trapped Rochelle and Coach on the stairs long enough for them to teleport to me, while there was a spot when you get back on the highway on the second map where Rochelle got stuck again - this time not even moving from what I could see before she teleported. Could be a few more spots, but those were the most egregious ones I encountered.

Otherwise, I liked the campaign better than regular Cold Stream. From just pure memory, it felt a lot better to play, and a lot more refined in terms of mapping.

It's not like the description tells you that it crashes a when you got too many mods enabled.

Really bad campaign that suffers even more than vanilla Cold Stream from memory leaks and random crashing (mostly focused on map 1) when hosted on local server.

Not recommended for anybody until dev fixes them! I doubt its possible though, without rebuilding the map and its assets. :steammocking:

This is a version of the cold stream map with improved graphics! I really liked the environment and atmosphere, and it felt different from the basic cold stream map, so I really enjoyed it! 10/10 :steamhappy::steamthumbsup:
