I'm tryin it in small steps and one thing that gets me is the use of steward in the begining. If you take all the villeins produce, why not just put in socage in 100% taxation, or at least 80% and redistribute them what they need?
But I think it is a bit more in it than to call it "basic guide"...
@Burcookie The idea I was working with is this game is kind of opaque as far as how production chains work economically, and that makes strategy harder to figure out. I do the same with pigs, but I was hoping to write a guide that helped get players to know how money making works, and the whys and hows of which industry to focus on. Once you got enough basics down, you can play pretty freely. I thought it would be better to know why a player might not be doing something, rather than not really knowing why you're doing the things that you are. The butcher is a particularly difficult production chain to make work, and hard to learn the economy mechanics with, given the other production options. This guide is far from comprehensive though haha.
Anyway, I think this game is adorable and a lot of fun, but it just doesn't do a very good job of teaching you how to play it. Hope the guide helps, though!
