Item guide for void fiend

A ♥♥♥♥♥♥ guide i made because I kept seeing people complain about him.

Stronk build for void fiend

With how void fiend is, you can't really use that many healing items if you want to have a long corrupted form and good control over when you switch. So here's a basic list of what type of items you want to grab or avoid. (sorry if this guide sucks, i'm not good at making these and this is the first time i've made one)

Health related items

For health, you want to get transcendence as fast as possible. This allows you to be tanky as hell in your corrupted form, and gives you a way to heal in it as well. Avoid pretty much all normal healing items unless they have some bonus that makes it worth it (ie: a single harvester scythe for the extra crit chance) Get topaz brooches as well for more tank as they don't really affect the corruption bar from what i've seen. Teddies are essential aswell so you don't die.

Damage related items

okay so get full crit any way you can. You're gonna need it to stay in corrupted form for as long as possible. Get tons of attack speed buffs like predatory instincts and soldier syringe as they allow you to stay in corrupted form as long as you have something to hit with crit. Other items like focus crystal and backup mags are extremely useful since he's practically a melee character in his corrupted form. With fire's recent buff, make sure to get any fire damage items and a couple ignition tanks for aoe damage, along with generally good items like the rings.

Red items

Make sure to get pocket ICBM and symbiotic scorpion as they both heavily increase your damage output and let you shred in corrupted form. Other generally good items like clover and meat hook are nice too.

Void items

For this character, plasma shrimp is a necessity. (atleast for how i play him) with all the other items i mentioned, he can push out extreme damage and obliterate pretty much everything. Polylute. needletick, voidsent flame and tentabauble are very good so grab them whenever you can. I haven't seen all the void items yet so grab any that you think will be good.

Equipment

Missile launcher is very good for extreme damage (especially with pocket ICBM) so get that along with tons of gestures so you can basically kill everything. If you can't get missile launcher, others like sawmerang are good substitutions for damage output, and recycler is amazing, as you're gonna find a lot of healing items that you can't use.

Lunars (besides transcendence of course)

Shaped glass is good if you trust in your tankiness and survivability. Purity is good, but getting it ruins good items like polylute tentabauble and needletick, so only get it if you want to sacrifice those. AVOID ALL HERESY ITEMS. no matter how good you think ruin is, trust me it sucks.

summary

Stack attack speed and prioritize movement speed over damage items since you already do insane damage. Grab backup mags for all the funny m2 stuff you can do (like flight). Get full crit, as many tougher times as you can and avoid all healing items. Grab all the transcendence and get plasma shrimps. Pocket ICBM is amazing and symbiotic scorpion is just broken. Missile launcher works really well with pocket ICBM too, so grab that. Get ignition tanks and any fire damage items you can since fire damage is kinda op now. Get a lot of focus crystals and with all of that, you should be set. I did an eclipse run with all these items in mind, and I ended up getting to ~120 minutes when i beat mithrix and went back to pet the frog to kill voidling as well.

While ocular HUD can be good early game, it has the cost of missing out on every other potential equipment that works much better with void fiend builds. Once you get good crit with void fiend, I don't particularly see any point in using ocular HUD as the utility of other equipments is just REALLY good. (It has been awhile since I've made this guide though, so I don't exactly agree with everything I said at the time lol)

you get railgunner just from buying the dlc but you need to either complete the simulacrum or beat voidling to get void fiend
