This guide will show you how many satchel charges it takes to destroy things in Rust.

With Rust being constantly updated, there may be differences to Gun Damage, Explosive Damage, Item building/crafting costs and possibly newly added content, so the guide will need to be updated.

Information About Satchel Charges.
The Satchel Charge is a midgame raiding tool that can be used to destroy player-made buildings for the purpose of entering and looting another player's base.


The Satchel charge becomes armed when placed, has a random time until detonation, and has a small chance to malfunction, requiring the user to pick up and rearm the Charge. Note that sometimes the charge will re-ignite when the dud is picked up, going off with a very short fuse!

Satchel Charge
Damage : 475 ( Depending on if its Wood,Stone,Metal,High Quality Metal )
Explosion Radius : 4 m
Explosion Delay : 6–12 sec
Dud Chance: 20 %

Satchel charges are found under the tools category in the crafting menu and stack in tens. Each charge takes one small stash, one rope and four bean can grenades to craft.

Satchel Charge ( Requires Blueprint / Level 1 Workbench)

In order to craft a satchel charge you need the following resources:
1xRope
10xCloth
80x Metal fragments:
720x Charcoal
480x Sulfur

x1 Rope
x4 Beancan Grenades ( Requires Blueprint / Level 1 Workbench)



Wooden Building Tiers (x3 Satchels)
All items from the wooden building tier require

x3 satchel charges to be destroyed.

These items include:walls, foundations, floors, doorframes, walls, stairs, rooves, wallframes, floorframes and windows.

NOTE : This does not include the Single wooden doors/ Double Wooden Doors.
