Logitech G27 Settings
Da Hollow
Guide documenting the Logitech G27 settings for Assetto Corsa. These settings are for my records in case I lose my configuration. I may change or update these settings as needed, most likely as a result of a change in Luca's recommended settings. Wheel settings are very much subjective, so feel free to modify these to your tastes. In fact, DO modify the latter section settings to suit your needs. It is a good idea to look for a baseline to deviate from though - and that's why you're here, am'right?

Note: I am aware of the french guide for the G27 Wheel - this guide has nothing to do with said guide, nor is this guide a translation of said guide. The settings on this guide are based on Luca Sodano's (from Kunos) suggested settings, and although he stated none of his settings are "official," they are as official as they get (in my opinion). Regardless, FFB wheel settings are pretty subjective, hence the absence of "official" wheel settings.

Getting started
Installing and setting up the Profiler
To use your G27 wheel on Assetto Corsa, you absolutely need to have the Logitech Profiler software installed. To do so visit the G27 page[support.logitech.com], select the Downloads tab, choose your Operating System (OS) and architecture (32 or 64 bit), and press the "Download Software" button. Once the file is downloaded, proceed to install the program.

The first time you run it, the program should do a system scan of your games in order to automatically add profiles of each individual game. If it doesn't, or if you install Assetto Corsa after this first scan, you can activate the scanner by going to Profile >>> Scan for New Games.

[/previewimg]
The Profiler may or may not detect Assetto Corsa with the scanner. I will assume it did not; in order to add AC to the profiler manually, you need to go to Profile >>> New. A little window will appear and ask you for the name of the game, the location of the game executable, and the icon for the game.

For the name, type "Assetto Corsa" without quotation marks. For the executable, look in your "assettocorsa" folder for a file named "acs.exe". In my case, I had to look using the Browse button, and found that my executable is located at
D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\assettocorsa\acs.exe

Finally, choose any of the icons and press the OK button to continue.
Logitech Profiler Settings
Many people with G27 wheels also play other games apart from Assetto Corsa. What we need to do now is make good use of the Global and Game-specific profiler settings to set up each game separately. Go to Options >>> Global Device Settings and apply the following settings:

Global Device Settings

Overall: 100% (no more and no less than game FFB)
Spring: 100% (as above)
Damper: 100% (as above)
Centering: OFF, 0%

Degrees of rotation: 900°

Allow game to adjust settings: OFF

This means that the Global profile settings cannot be altered by any game, but then we will use the game specific settings for AC.

Specific Game Settings

Go to Edit >>> Specific Game Settings and set the following settings.

Use Special FFB Device Settings: Check
Overall: 100%
Spring: 100%
Damper: 100%
Centering: OFF, 0%

Use Special S. Wheel Settings: Check
Degrees of rotation: 900°

Use Special Game Settings: Check
Allow game to adjust settings: ON
Setting up your wheel in-game for the first time
Once you have your profiler setup for the game, you will need to setup the wheel using the presets system and the in-game wizard. To do this, launch the game and go to Options >>> Controls; then look in the Configuration presets box, look for and click on the "Logitech G27 900 + Shifter H" preset, and press the "apply preset" button.

NOTE: STEP #2 (START CONFIGURATION WIZARD) IS OPTIONAL. I haven't used it for awhile since I reset all my settings whenever there is a bug and it's a pain to use. Just leave the rotation at 900 degrees.
Click on the "Start configuration wizard" at the top and follow the instructions there.

You will be greeted by the wizard, where you will follow specific instructions to set up your wheel.

The first step is to move your wheel in any direction, so the game detects the wheel in question you will be configuring. It will then ask you to center the wheel and to rotate it 90 degrees to the side in order to determine your exact degrees of rotation. Just follow the steps and you'll be fine.

The next part is tricky, I didn't understand it the first time I tried. You must do a series of specific actions for this step to work; first, press the throttle all the way down and don't let go. Then, press any button on the wheel while you are still pressing the throttle.

After you press the button on the wheel from the previous step, you will be instructed to release the throttle. Do it, and once you have released the throttle completely, press another key on the wheel again.

Repeat this procedure with the brake and clutch pedals until you see the above figure.

Next, you will be configuring your gear selectors on the wheel. The first step in the gears section is to setup the sequential gears; press the right paddle for "gear up" and the left paddle for "gear down".

The following step is to setup your H-shifter. Move the stick into the gear selector that the screen shows you - don't worry, there is no need to engage the clutch (silly me, I did it the first time as a reflex as I've driven stick for most of my life).

As this is a G27 guide, I will assume you are using the G27 H-shifter as opposed to a separate Thrustmaster or Fanatec shifter (I would use the latter if I had the money for a complete set, in fact I'll buy one for sure when the time comes). In our case, press the throttle and the game will ignore the 7th gear since we only have 6 gears and reverse. After this, the game will ask you to engage the reverse gear (R). Do it. For those newbies that don't know how to engage reverse, you press the stick down and engage the sixth gear while you hold it down. Google for a video if it's not clear.

The last step in the wizard is just a test window to see if you configured the wheel correctly. Test out all of the inputs to make sure you mapped them correctly. Press the "Apply" button to finish the wizard, and proceed to the next section of the guide, where we will see Luca's specific advanced settings.
Advanced Settings
The in-game settings are perhaps more important than the profiler settings in that you will be tinkering with these to your taste, not the profiler ones. I encourage you to find your perfect configuration, as there is no one-size-fits all solution. Don't be scared to tinker! Make good use of the "Saved controller configurations" feature of AC to tinker and go back if you mess up. To access this sub-menu, press the Advanced tab on the controllers page.

How to fix RPM/shift indicator LEDs
By petition of user iLdAvE, this section is added for those who want their RPM LEDs working with Assetto Corsa. By default, this simulator does not yet support the LED lights natively (though that might change once 1.0 is released).

To do this, you have to download Fanaleds from their website[www.fanaleds.com], and proceed to install the program. After you have installed the program, you can launch Assetto Corsa and Fanaleds should do it's thing. Remember, Fanaleds MUST be running (minimized in the system tray) for the LEDs to work.

As of Assetto Corsa v0.22.9 and Fanaleds v2.2f, Fanaleds is now working perfectly with the G27.

Anyone know what to do if the profiler says it cannot detect the wheel but it is 100% plugged in and active (it did it’s start up calibration and all that but won’t be detected by the profiler)

HelloBastard could you give better ones?

These settings are whack, No-one who uses a G Series wheel Keeps damping and spring ON, Its meant to be OFF.

No no and no> Always turn damping and spring OFF

+1 for turning ALL damping settings off.

Get much better feeling with only overall effect at 100% and the rest at 0%, don't need centering spring just makes the wheel unnecessarily heavy and stiff at times.
