Updated for b42: The following regions have been added.
  • Echo Creek
  • Irvington
  • Brundesburg

If you use mods relying on the LoadGridsquare function, you may already know that those are impacting performance. Yet, this function allows for many modding possibilities like expanded mapping tools, adding barricades to windows, replacing concrete with grass, removing fences, etc.

I have created this map loader to allow players and server owners to load most of the map places in one go, so that they can then disable the LoadGridsquare-Mods and gain performance.

How to use it:
  • 1. Launch a game/server with this mod and a LoadGridsquare-Mod enabled
  • 2. Load all the areas you want to be loaded Right click + [ML] Load Region
  • 3. Quit the game and edit the save/server params to remove this mod and the LoadGridsquare-Mod

Warning! Using this mod triggers a massive and fast loading of the map and will therefore be very resource intensive, this may crash your game. If it does, try reducing the parsing speed. And once all loading is done, you should be free from having to load this data in real time.

Is this somehow tied to game time? bc Im playing a singleplayer game(set to real time), let it run OVERNIGHT while I went to bed and came back and almost none of the map had been revealed--and this is one the fastest setting.

@Lu5ck It only makes sense for mods that need to do the loadgridsquare once, this way you can load most parts of the map and then disable the mods.

@Kroma What you are describing is exactly my use case for creating this mod. But you need to actually use this mod for loading the areas, and then you can uninstall the mods once you have loaded all the regions with this one with the special mods that needs area to be loaded (like barricaded workd). Once everything is loaded you can uninstall this mod and the barricaded world (or any other you wanted to used on load grid square actions).

Does this work for local hosting ?
I created a MP game, preloaded the map, but when i restarted the local server without the mod barricated world, every barricade disapeared after moving from the spawn location.

I assume what this mod does is automate force loading of grid by teleporting yourself, the admin, to all the different grids. This will then trigger LoadGridsquare functions. However, this doesn't necessary improve performance as not all mods use LoadGridsquare function the same way as each other.

Honestly, I think this mod only make sense for mods like "Udderly Vehicle Respawn" where you only need to have it triggered once every now and then.

mmap on my own online server,when I click to view the map, I no longer see the colored buildings, the colored residences, there is total blank on the map
I just think the option to reveal the map is disabled, but where ?
I searched in the FTP files, the data, the files, mods installed, everywhere, lua folder, script, maps, but I can't reveal the map I see like a white fog
can anyone help me?

Well. Of course as soon as I post I seem to find the solution ;o) I had set the time to "realtime" to avoid eating up days in-game to generate the map. Now it's teleporting and scanning as expected.

I had previously used this with success but since we added new vehicles I wanted to reload some chunks. I deleted them using an online tool which did the trick. I went in admin and confirmed it had regenerated... But now using this tool the time seem to accelerate (moving clouds) but the character is not being teleported/looking around. Any way to fix this?

where's the pre load all button, it's split up by maps now? now It's too much of a hassle to use this. I'd get why It's split up, but give us an option for loading all of it if we want too on top of them.
