A growing number of "Game Guide" sites are appearing on the web that simply harvest guides from Steam using bots, Ads are then placed alongside the guides and site owner then profits from the hard work of others. Notes.

Modern Tales: Age of Invention has a total of 24 Steam achievements, of these 13 are story related and the remaining 11 achievements are missable, as for completion time, this is in the region of 3 hours.

MAIN GAME.

Difficulty
There are no achievements relating to difficulty in Modern Tales: Age of Invention so select whichever suits your mood.

Tutorial
While there is a tutorial, there are no achievements relating to playing with or without the tutorial.

Cutscenes
There are no achievements relating to watching cutscenes.

Mini-Game Puzzles
There are 3 achievements relating to playing mini-game puzzles...

• There is an achievement for completing 5 puzzles without skipping.

• There is an achievement for completing one puzzle in less than 60 seconds.

• There is an achievement for completing all puzzles without skipping any of them.

Hidden Object Scenes
There are 6 achievements relating to playing hidden object scenes...

• There is an achievement for completing 1 scene without using a hint.

• There is an achievement for completing all scenes without using a hint.

• There is an achievement for completing 3 scenes consecutively in a time totalling less than 10 minuies.

• There is an achievement for locating 3 items within a scene in less than 3 seconds.

• There is an achievement for completing 1 scene in less than 60 seconds.

• There is an achievement for completing 1 scene without a mistake (misclick).

Collectables
There is a total of 30 collectables to find in Modern Tales: Age of Invention that take the form of Atoms, there are two achievements related to finding all of these collectables, with one earned for finding your first and the second achievement for locating all 30 of them.

BONUS CHAPTER.
While there is a "CE" version of this game that contains a bonus chapter, the Steam version of Modern Tales: Age of Invention is sadly not the "CE" version, and it does not have a bonus chapter.

Bugs.

I personally did not encounter any bugs during my time with Modern Tales: Age of Invention, I did however have a bit of trouble with the crate code lock in the Pavilion, it's not bugged, just poorly coded/implemented.

There are however a few people reporting issues on the discussion boards. Most of the comments are 3-4 years old, there is one problem that seems to persist even now...

Hidden Object Scene Help.

This chapter offers further help and advice regarding the following achievements...
"Good Reflexes" (Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle in less than a minute.)
"No Mistake" (Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle without mistake.)

The best candidates for earning these achievements are scene #10, #11, #12, #14 and #15. The easiest of them all is #15, it is however the very last scene and leaving these achievements to the last possible opportunity is not advised, get them earlier if you can.

I have added timestamps in my video walkthrough for all hidden object scenes, I also thought it prudent to add a couple of screen caps to further assist in obtaining these two achievements.

Green = Gold nugget behind skull, click on skull to move skull, then click on nugget to obtain.
Yellow = Gold nugget behind wood plank, click on plank to move plank, then click on nugget to obtain.

Achievement Guide.

The following achievements are story related and earned as part of your natural progression...

Strong Impulse, Private Investigator, Road Rally, Extreme Sports, Good Deeds, Master of Engineering, First Date, Lab Rat, Daring Move, Family Matters, High Tech, Last Battle & Master of Science.


The following missable achievements are listed in the order that I unlocked them...

	Passer By.	Find one collectable. There are 30 collectables in Modern Tales: Age of Invention. This achievement will pop once you collect your first. Please refer to the Collectables chapter of this guide for their locations, the locations are also time stamped in my video walkthrough.
	Three In Three.	Find 3 Hidden Objects within 3 seconds. To earn this achievement, during a scene, locate (by clicking on) three of the items listed at the bottom of the screen within three seconds.
	Bullseye.	Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle without a hint. This achievement will pop after completing a scene without using a hint. If you are trying to 100% Modern Tales: Age of Invention do not use hints during any of the hidden object scenes.
	No Mistake.	Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle without mistake. To earn this achievement you must complete one hidden object scene without making any mistakes. A mistake is clicking on anything in the scene that is not on the list at the bottom of the screen. There are 15 opportunities to earn this achievement during the game, of these there are at least 4-5 that can easily be completed. (Scene #10, #11, #12, #14 & #15 are perhaps the best options for this with #15 being the easiest). Please refer to the "Hidden Object Scene Help" chapter of this guide, for further help.
	Time Stands Still.	Complete a Minigame in less than a minute. To earn this achievement, simply complete a mini-game puzzle in less than 60 seconds. There are 14 puzzles in Modern Tales: Age of Invention and there are at least 4 puzzles that take less, such as puzzle #7, #8 & #12
	Triple Luck.	Complete 3 Hidden Object Puzzles in less than 10 minutes. To earn this achievement you must complete 3 hidden object scenes in a cumulative total time of less than 10 minutes. Example, if you complete HOG #1 in 2 mins, HOG #2 in 3 mins and HOG #3 in 2 mins, the achievement will pop after HOG #3. If you complete HOG #1 in 3 mins, HOG #2 in 5 mins, HOG #3 in 3 mins, HOG #4 in 2 mins, HOG #5 in 4 mins, it will pop after HOG #5.
	Good Reflexes.	Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle in less than a minute. To earn this achievement you must complete one scene in less than 60 seconds. There are 15 opportunities to earn this achievement during the main game, of these there are at least 4 that can easily be completed reasonably quickly (Scene #10, #11, #12, #14 & #15). Please refer to the "Hidden Object Scene Help" chapter of this guide, for further help.
	Tough Cookie.	Complete 5 Minigames without skipping them. To earn this achievement you must complete 5 mini-game puzzles without skipping them. If you are trying to 100% Modern Tales: Age of Invention, do not skip any of the mini-game puzzles.
	Perceptive Eye.	Complete all Hidden Object Puzzles without using a hint. To earn this achievement you must complete all 15 of the hidden object scenes without using hints during any of them. I have added time stamps for all scenes in my video walkthrough should you need assistance with any.
	Raw Talent.	Complete all Minigames without skipping them. To earn this achievement you must complete all 14 mini-game puzzles without skipping any of them. I have added time stamps for all puzzles in my video walkthrough should you need assistance with any.
	Collector.	Find all collectables. There are 30 collectables in Modern Tales: Age of Invention. This achievement will pop once you collect all 30 of them in a single playthrough. Please refer to the Collectable chapter of this guide for their locations, I have also added time stamps for the location of all collectables in my video walkthrough. Note that the final collectable inside the flying sphere is located on the table, that you have to click on to zoom in on, it is located under the bag which you must first pick up.
