Description
Bibliotheca Mythologica: Gods, Heroes and Monsters pretends to bring A Total War Saga: TROY closer to the original Greek myths, specially to the works by Homer and Hesiod. While most of its features work in all three game modes (Historical, Truth Behind the Myth and Mythos) it has been developed with the Mythos mode in mind.

The Bibliotheca Mythologica consists of a main mod and two standalone mods:

Bibliotheca Mythologica: Gods, Heroes and Monsters is the main mod, it adds new mythological creatures to the Mythos mode and it reworks the recruitment mechanic to make it more lore friendly with the Greek myths. It also contains the features of the Gods of Olympus and Heroes of Troy mods (see below).

Included features:
  • Overhaul of the recruitment system of mythological creatures
  • New mythological creatures: Orthrus and the Sphinx
  • Rework of vanilla mythological creatures: Cyclops, Sirens, Griffins...
  • New unit abilities: Cyclops' sight, Regenerate heads and Sphinx's riddle
  • More!

This Gods of Olympus mod adds the 12 Olympian gods to the game, as well as Dionysus and Hades. Each new god has fully fleshed out cult level and prayer bonuses, custom religious buildings, divine boons... The bonuses of each god and the flavour texts are based on the original Greek myths.

The Heroes of Troy adds 11 new playable heroes with their corresponding factions to the game, including 4 previously unplayable subcultures. In addition, the new playable factions have been added the Danaan Pillar or Trojan Pillar trait, so that they join one of the two great coalitions of the Trojan war, resulting in a massive war between the Danaan and Trojan armies.

Compatibility:
This mod has been designed to be played on Mythos mode, both in campaign and custom battles. The mod edits startpos tables, so a new game is required for all the changes to be applied. This means that the mod is incompatible with other mods that edit the startpos. The mod also edits the troy_antagonists.lua, troy_campaign_setup.lua, troy_campaign_traits.lua, troy_constants.lua and frontend_prelude.lua scripts.

Feel free to contact me to report bugs, suggest new features, etc. through Steam or Discord (Amulet of Kings#1284).

Sorry, I'm no longer developing mods :(

a just-monster version possible or planned, please? (I'd like to avoid heroes for this)

Unfortunately not, both mods edit the startpos file, so they are not compatible.

does it work with Radious Extended?

Ahh yes, in campaign you need to find a settlement that allows giant recruitment. I changed the mythological unit recruitment location so that it is more accurate with mythology. The closest settlements to Troy that have giants are Kos in Melamphylos province (island in the south-east) and Scione in Phlegra province (in modern day Macedonia).

I meant in campaign

@MazingerZero Do you mean that in custom battles trojan factions can't select giant units? By default Odysseus and Hector's factions should have access to giants, but you can go to battle settings to unlock all mythological units for all factions.

I was at first looking forward to playing this but then i discovered troy didn't have access to giants :(

Yeah, I tried and it worked, forgot to comment. Thanks!

I've tested it myself in the past, mods that affect god favour (gain or loss) do indeed affect gods from the mod (at least they did last I checked)
