All races will start with their most recent edition. Most races will start with 8th edition, but some races do not have 8th edition rules, so these races will start with their most recent edition:

• Bretonnia -6th Edition
  
• Skaven -7th Edition
  
• Beastmen -7th Edition
  
• All other core races -8th Edition

Why the separation?
"8th Edition is clearly CA's focus and they stated that many times in the past and it's what all the games are based on. so that is the reason why 8th Edition is being seperated from the other."

Every unit that isn't from 8th Edition will have unit tags:

(FW) = The unit is from Forge World. (Tamurkhan The Throne of Chaos, Monstrous Arcanum, Storm of Magic.)
(WD) = The unit is from White Dwarf.
(OE) = The unit is from Old Editions. (4th - 7th)
(CJ) = The unit is from The Citadel Journals.
(TC) = The unit is from the Town Cryer magazines for Mordheim.
(SP) = The unit is from other Supplements, Battle Scrolls and other Expansions like Storm of Chaos, Warhammer Chronicles etc....

Forgotten Races is a standalone section we made together with Pootis Bird and without him wouldn't have been possible.

This section of the guide is about races from the lore that never got much attention and are mostly forgotten today and we will most likely never see any of these factions or units in the game. However, with the inclusion of Cathay, nothing is off the table, which means we could potentially see one or more of these races implemented, either as units for existing races or as their own race.

Marsh Magic
In The Dying of the Light adventure for WFRP, the Fimir have some spells that are unique to them. It's main purpose would be to debuff the enemy, hiding/improving your own units, as well as summoning Lesser Daemons. In the new Winds of Magic supplement for WFRP, we got a new Fimir character as well as new spells in the form of the "Marsh Magic" that she uses.

@miniaar Besides Ulfjarls, everything else you listed is already on the Missing Norsca Units list.
Dire Wolves are on the list because they're large single entity monsters (Giant Wolves are not on the list because they're comparable to Norscan Ice Wolves).
Ulfwerenar should be on the list because they are a Human infantry unit that wield hand weapons and armor that can transform into Werewolves mid-battle, so they're nothing like Skin-Wolves.

Hi there,
Quick question regarding Norscan missing units. Is the Citadel Journal issue 06 (1994 - during the 4th edition) out of scope?

Those would be potential additional units from the Norse army list
- Huscarls
- Norse Beastmasters
- Ulfjarl (Skinwolf Lord): would be great as a Wintertooth generic monster lord

This list also has many units already in the game:
- Norse Beserkers (Marauder Beserkers)
- War Mammoths
- Snow Trolls (in the game as Norscan Ice trolls)
- Giant Wolves/Dire Wolves (Norscan Ice wolves)
- Ulfwerenar (Skinwolves)
- Norse (Marauder)
- Champion (Marauder Champion)
- Norse Hunters (Marauder Hunters)
- Shaman/Shaman Champion (Shaman Sorcerer Hero)
- Master Shaman/Shaman Lord (Great Shaman Lord)

This is why I would consider this army list to be a Norsca precursor (combined with FW/MA Chaos monsters) and thus missing units from this source fair game to be added.
