Subaru WRX S4 Gen.1

WRX（ダブリューアールエックス）は、2014年よりSUBARU（旧・富士重工業）が製造・販売している四輪駆動のスポーツセダンである。

WRXシリーズは1992年に世界ラリー選手権（WRC）のために作られたインプレッサWRXを起源とする。
"WRX" という名称は「World Rally eXperimental」を意味する。

WRXという名称は、元々インプレッサのスポーツバージョンに付けられていたグレード名であり、
3代目インプレッサのマイナーチェンジによってインプレッサの名前が外れ「スバル・WRX STI」と単独の車名に変更されていた。

日本仕様車のWRX STIには先代から継続して2.0 L水平対向4気筒のデュアルAVCSツインスクロールターボエンジンのEJ20型が搭載された。
北米仕様車や欧州仕様車、豪州仕様車には先代搭載された2.5 L AVCSターボエンジンのEJ25エンジンを継続した。いずれも組み合わせられる6速MTは2000年に登場したTY85型を改良したものを搭載。

フロントグリルにはスバルの共通意匠である「ヘキサゴングリル」が採用され、コの字型のLEDポジションランプが配されたプロジェクターヘッドランプを採用している。Aピラー前端は従来のWRXに比べて200mm前方となる。
リアディフューザー一体型のバンパーには4本出しマフラーを装備する。

ボディは先代モデルより大型化されているが、アッパーミドルサルーン（セダン）に路線変更した6代目レガシィ（B4名義としては通算4代目）と、
Cセグメントクラスに位置するインプレッサG4との穴を埋めるミドルセダンとしての役割も担っている。

ボディサイズは先代GVB型との比較で、全長は15mm延長、全高は5mm高くなった。

WRX is a four-wheel drive sports sedan manufactured and sold by SUBARU (formerly Fuji Heavy Industries) since 2014.

The WRX series originates from the Impreza WRX, which was created for the World Rally Championship (WRC) in 1992.
The name "WRX" means "World Rally eXperimental".

The name WRX is the grade name originally given to the sports version of the Impreza.
Due to a minor change of the 3rd generation Impreza, the name of the Impreza was removed and it was changed to a single car name "Subaru WRX STI".

The WRX STI, a Japanese specification car, has been equipped with the EJ20 type 2.0 L horizontally opposed 4-cylinder dual AVCS twin scroll turbo engine, continuing from its predecessor.
The EJ25 engine, which was the 2.5-liter AVCS turbo engine that was installed in the predecessor of the North American, European, and Australian models, was continued. The 6-speed MT that can be combined with both is equipped with an improved version of the TY85 type that appeared in 2000.

The front grille uses Subaru's common design, the "Hexagon grille," and uses projector headlamps with U-shaped LED position lamps. The front end of the A-pillar is 200mm forward compared to the conventional WRX.
The rear diffuser integrated bumper is equipped with a four-out muffler.

The body is larger than the previous model, but with the 6th Legacy (4th generation in total as a B4 name) that changed the route to the upper middle saloon (sedan),
It also plays a role as a middle sedan that fills the hole with the Impreza G4 located in the C segment class.

The body size is 15mm longer and 5mm higher than the previous GVB type.
