Description
Play as the Queen of the Iceni and enemy of Rome, Boudica; in Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

Britain was inhabited by Celts since time immemorial, in those early days they called themselves "Pretanni," translated as "Britons." The dominance of Celts eroded once the Romans disrupted their tribalism. Boudica was one of the most celebrated of rebels against the Roman Empire and continues to be a British icon, her popularity in the arts peaked during the Victorian Era. Celts of Britain often lived with autonomy, and hybridisation did occur much like in the former Celtic Gaul. Eventually Celts were forced out of Britain's lowlands and into the hinterlands, now Wales, as the Roman Empire collapsed. The Saxons, Angles, and Jutes sailed to Britain to claim the former provinces, thus disturbing the Celts, absorbing or dispersing them. Aside from fleeing to Wales, many Celts also fled to Armorica which is now Brittany (named after the Britons) and some reached Hispania (some Spanish peoples, such as the Gallaecians, retain some Celtic traditions, although the Britons of Spain became extinct). Overall the Britons were similar to their Gaul counterparts.
