Game action mechanics

An in-depth look at how game actions (especially getting followers) work. Go for 9999999! Satisfy Ame's need for Internet validation!

Follower calculations

The base amount of followers gained from an action is 1% of your current followers if under 10k, or 25 times log_10(followers) if over 10k. All other multipliers stack on top of this (and multiply with each other; for example, if you have x4 Gamer Girl and x4 Stream Streak, that gives 16x the base)

Some sample values:

As you can see, the base followers gain basically plateaus after the Day 10 requirement, so you need to take advantage of multipliers to get the big numbers.

1. Each stream topic has its own multiplier (as does social media), see the next section.
   
2. If streaming, multiply followers gained by (1 + # of days streamed in a row), counting the current day; the ingame display is wrong and it's actually 1 more than that.
   
3. If Pre-Stream Alert is at least 1, multiply followers gained by 1.2 (this doesn't stack, but it does apply to subsequent social media posts)
   
4. If the stream topic is Letsplay, multiply followers gained by (1 + 0.5 * Gamer Girl)
   
5. If the stream topic is Nerd Talk, multiply followers gained by (1 + 0.5 * Cinephile)
   
6. If the stream topic is Breakdown Stream or Darkness (stress stream), multiply followers gained by (1 + 0.5 * Impact).
   
7. If the stream topic is ASMR or Sexy Stream, multiply followers gained by (1 + 0.5 * Experience)
   
8. If streaming, multiply followers gained by (1 + 0.1 * Communication)
   
9. If streaming, multiply followers gained by (1 - 0.01 * Rabbit Hole)

Stream topics

All streams give +1 Communication as well. Internet Angel 5 removes the stress increase from subsequent streams, but not other stats.
Note that stat gains don't apply to the current stream.

Stress events

Cut Wrists: (takes two time slots) -15 stress, +10 darkness, -20 affection
Go Berserk: (takes two time slots) -20 stress, +10 darkness, -35 affection

Go Out

All locations take 2 time slots and give -10 stress and +6 affection. The hospital also gives -10 darkness.
Galactic Rail is only available if you've taken Magic Grass the same day and starts the Galactic Express ending.

Event mechanics

Each day consists of 3 parts, "noon", "dusk", "night", plus a "late night" (or "Way Too Late" as it appears in JINE) that doesn't really exist but indicates some events that happen at the end of the day. At the start of each part, an event triggers. Plot events happen at noon and late night, because you can't skip those. Fixed events take priority over triggered events.

Story events:

• Day 3 Noon: Message about rent
  
• Day 5 Noon: Wishlist event part 1 (if you don't respond, part 2 is skipped)
  
• Day 6 Noon: Wishlist event part 2 (if you picked Aphrodisiacs, automatically ***)
  
• Day 8 Late Night: If Ame has under 10k followers, she DMs you about it
  
• Day 10 Late Night: If Ame has 10k followers, she monetizes succesfully; otherwise start the So Close Yet So Far ending
  
• Day 14 Late Night: Ame DMs you; she gets her silver Play button if she has 100k followers, otherwise she's disappointed
  
• Day 15 Late Night: If Ame has at least 60 darkness and affection, Ame DMs you about her childhood trauma; otherwise she DMs you with a mental breakdown (pick the first option every time to reduce stress) and sends a tweet that depends on whether she has 250k followers
  
• Day 16 Noon: If you saw the high darkness and affection version of the Day 15 event, Ame sends an apology
  
• Day 17 Late Night: Ame comments on her status; the relevant factors are 1) either having 250k followers now or 100k followers at Day 14 Late Night, 2) having at least 60 affection 3) having at least 60 darkness
  
• Day 20 Noon: Ame DMs you about it being day 20
  
• Day 22 Late Night: Ame DMs you; she's happy if she has at least 250k followers, otherwise depends on whether she has at least 60 darkness
  
• Day 23 Late Night: Ame's love diary appears on the desktop; the contents vary depending on whether she has at least 20/40/80 affection. If she has at least 80 affection, she asks you to visit her parents tomorrow.
  
• Day 24 Noon: If Ame asked you to visit her parents, you do so (functions as a date)
  
• Day 25 Noon: If stress cap has been raised and stress is at least 80, start the Internet Overdose endgame. (technically this functions as a triggered event, but only the stress events have precedence over it and they must already have been done)
  
• Day 27 Noon: If Ame has at least 500k followers (and is not in the Internet Overdose endgame), she goes to record a MV; this takes 2 time slots.
  
• Day 27 Late Night: If Ame has at least 1M subscribers, she gets her gold Play button. Her reaction to this varies depending on whether she has 80 affection or 60 darkness, and a small comment if she hadn't hit the Day 14 or 17 follower goals. Otherwise she has different disappointed messages depending on whether she has 500k followers.
  
• Day 29 Noon: If Ame recorded the MV on day 27, it's posted now
  
• Day 30 Noon: trigger day 30 endings

Noon triggered events:

• If Ame has at least 80 stress, has the beforeWristCut flag set, and has not already done the Cut Wrists event, start Cut Wrists event
  
• If Ame has at least 80 stress, has not already done the Cut Wrists event, and stress cap is not raised, set the beforeWristCut flag (in particular, this means Ame needs 80 stress on two consecutive days without fixed events)
  
• If Ame has 100 stress, has done the Cut Wrists event, and stress cap has not been raised, start the Go Berserk event
  
• If in Internet Overdose endgame, trigger the appropriate script for the day
  
• If Ame has 10k followers and has not unlocked Internet Angel 1, unlock Internet Angel 1
  
• If Ame has 30k followers and has not unlocked Sponsorships 1, unlock Sponsorships 1
  
• If Ame has 100k followers and has not unlocked Internet Angel 2, unlock Internet Angel 2
  
• If Ame has 250k followers and has not unlocked Internet Angel 3, unlock Internet Angel 3
  
• If Ame has 500k followers and has not unlocked Internet Angel 4, unlock Internet Angel 4
  
• If Ame has 1M followers, has not raised stress cap, and has not unlocked Internet Angel 5, unlock Internet Angel 5
  
• If Ame has 1M followers, has raised stress cap, and has not unlocked Internet Angel 6,
  unlock Internet Angel 6 (it still displays as Internet Angel 5, but shows that it gives no followers)
  
• Otherwise if stress is under 80, start a random noon event (hint hint speedrunners)

Night triggered events:

• If in Cut Wrists event, start Stream: Darkness 1
  
• If in Go Berserk event, increase stress cap to 120 and start Stream: Darkness 2
  
• If in Internet Overdose endgame, skip
  
• If at 120 stress, start Bomber Girl ending
  
• If at 0 darkness, start Normie Life ending
  
• If affection is equal to affection cap, start Ground Control to Psychoelectric Angel ending
  
• If at 100 darkness, roll a random number from 0 to 99; if this lands on 66, start SMT ending
  
• If at 100 darkness and seen at least 16 different endings, roll a random number from 0 to 19; if this lands on 6, start SMT ending
  
• If at 0 affection, start Cucked ending
  
• If took Magic Paper 5 times and not in Welcome To My Religion endgame, start Rainbow Girl ending
  
• Otherwise if stress is under 80, start a random non-noon event

End of day cleanup

• Set drugs used today flag to false
  
• If streamed today flag is false, set stream streak bonus to 0
  
• Set streamed today flag to false
  
• Set Pre-Stream Alert to 0
  
• Decrement hiatus counter (for Breakdown Stream 3)
  
• If you haven't gotten a bonus night action today, run late night events.

Late Night triggered events:

• If in Internet Overdose endgame, skip
  
• If Netlore 5 stream has been done, unlock the Galactic Rail. (It's available in Go Out only if you've taken Magic Grass the same day)
  
• If at least 1500000 followers, send a message
  
• If at least 3000000 followers, send a message
  
• If at least 5000000 followers, send a message
  
• If at least 9999999 followers, start Internet Runaway Angel: Be Invoked ending
  
• Roll a random number from 0 to 99; if it lands on 0-4, Ame posts a tweet. If it lands on 5 you get a bonus night action where you cannot stream, sleep, or go out.

Random events

Random noon events:

Possible events are added to a pool depending on Ame's current stats. Each event can only be gotten once in a playthrough. Some events have a separator indicating what causes it, although some are wrong/missing. "over" and "under" here are exclusive - "over 60 darkness" means 61-100, "under 40 darkness" means 0-39.
under 20 darkness: -2 darkness
under 15 darkness: -2 darkness
under 10 darkness: -2 darkness
under 5 darkness: -2 darkness
affection and darkness both over 40: +2 stress
affection and darkness both over 60: +2 stress
affection and darkness both over 80: two events, one gives +2 stress, one gives -1
raised stress cap and over 100k followers
raised stress cap and over 250k followers: +2 stress
raised stress cap and over 500k followers: +2 stress
raised stress cap and over 1M followers: +2 stress
over 60 darkness and over 250k followers: +2 stress
over 60 darkness and over 500k followers: +2 stress
over 60 darkness and over 1M followers: +2 stress
over 500k followers: 4 different events
over 1M followers: 5 different events
under 100k followers: 5 different events
streamed yesterday and have less than 100k followers: +1 stress
over 60 affection: 9 events
under 20 affection: 3 events
over 60 darkness: 6 events (one of which is the Blazing Hell "ending")
under 40 darkness: 4 events
over 60 stress: 5 events
under 20 stress: 3 events
60-79 stress and vanity searched in the last 3 days
over 10k followers and have not streamed for 12 days

If there are fewer than 5 qualifying events, 20 "Daily" events are added to the list. Then one event is picked at random from the list.

Random non-noon events:

(Dusk events always go here)

• If stress is at least 60, skip
  
• Otherwise, pick one of the possible "Daily" messages, excluding ones that have already been used in this playthrough.

More or less updated, I think. The max followers speedrun (which now takes one more day) has been moved to the other guide because it's an ending now.

Yes, the game prevents you to take pills after you done the Internet Angel 5 stream.
That would be annoying if you're doing some OD-related endings, so it would be better to branch out from the speedrunning guide from Day 11.

So I use the speedrun guide to help start a basis to get some of the endings as I can load previous days with certain sub counts, but at day 12, I am unable to OD on Depaz. Does it just prevent using meds after a certain point or does it prevent if stress/darkness is too low?

Yep, I believe the Labor is Evil bug is fixed too.
(They forgot to put the game over dialog in one of the options before)
