Warhammer Quest Inspired Ranger 4K Reskin

Mô tả
Reskins High Elf Rangers with new looks.

Inspired by the lore, artwork and miniature (and kitbashed variants) of the Elf Ranger class of Warhammer Quest. These Rangers are (majority of them) ancient princes and lords of Tiranoc, nobles turned treasure hunters who could just as easily swordfight as they could cast spells and so their new looks reflect this spectrum of capabilities.

Their looks range from classic hooded ranger to hard helmet to delicate crowns. And they all have HEROIC LONG HAIR, none of that short cropped regimented archer unit nonsense for a group of professional wanderers!

CHANGES:
-All ranger heads have been changed and there are more variants in general, big credit to Xoudad and Shawmuscle for the Dragon Mage crown!

-New effects and textures for Ranger swords are present, they now have glowing or golden Eltharin script, signifying concepts of wrath/remembrance/nobility/glory, among others.

-New cape variants, one of glowing starlight and one with Tiranoc sea hawk heraldry. One head variant also has a glowing starlight cloth mask, this is my version of doing the starlight scarf featured on the Warhammer Quest cover art.

-All red gems on the belts have been enlarged greatly, per the artwork inspiration.

-The hot red pants and sleeves of before are no more, the majority of the unit color is still dependent on whatever faction of High Elves you're playing, although there are some yellow/blue Tiranoc touches on them that will be there regardless of what faction you play.

-One has black boots and an Asuryan flames skirt/tunic based off of the Warhammer Quest artwork.

-Various jeweled rondels have been pinned to their torsos and boots, inspired by the tabletop model.

-The giant collars of the vanilla models have been removed.

-New min spec portholes, adjusted unit cards and flavor text to reflect their graphical changes and the lore that inspired it.

This mod is VISUAL ONLY, if you want gameplay changes I highly recommend this mod by Arthanor to go with it, it makes Rangers into smaller specialized units with new abilities to reflect their Warhammer Quest background: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2111919176&searchtext=arthanor

And then download this packfile patch I made so the new Ranger units by Arthanor will look the same as in this reskin (they will be very messed up looking if you don't do this): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1A9F1_hqYNFlfidoBKmMuPu2fyZJErl1Y/view?usp=sharing

Big credit once more to Xoudad and Shawmuscle for the Dragon Mage crown, and ^1Shep^8ardov for the 4K textures.

It's OK man, thanks! I fixed the mods quickly because I had backups so no trouble in that regard and I'm sure I'll figure out the rest in time (I do have a lot of mods which really is a pain sometimes :p)

ah well then... I don't know man. I don't have your modding set-up so I can't directly see what's what and where certain interactions are taking place. I can't help anymore. But if you want ANY sort of Ranger back I would just re-subscribe to those mods that you deleted variantmeshdefinitions from, that way they'll be downloaded again and then just unsubscribe to this one, so at least you'll have something.

I basically just searched for the "Ranger" keyword in variantmeshdefinitions in the two other mods (Hosts & Hooveric's) and deleted all of the entries (from the left bar) wholesale (except for the Dwarf and WE Rangers in Hooveric's ofc, apparently I'm not *that* dumb). Then I put this mod on top of the loading order and voila: invisible Rangers! :P

@Gunking
Directly deleting the variantmeshdefinitions entries in other mods led to invisible models even with this mod put on top of the load order in Kaedrin's. Should I have been deleting only certain ones or the references to Rangers within the code? I didn't touch the variantmodels stuff in the other mods btw.

@Xenosophont
in RPFM? Yes. Delete all variantmeshdefinitions relating to rangers in other mods. That is what's causing freaky model issues, their mods are pointing to certain parts and mine is pointing to others, causing... the issues.

@Gunking
Anything I can tweak in RPFM or something to make it play ball with the other mods? Adjusting the load order didn't work BTW.

@Xenosophont
Thank you! It could be any one of those, any mod that alters the actual models of Rangers will have those issues.

Great idea, love the design but I wonder if it's Hooveric's Reskin, Hosts of Ulthuan or whatever else that is is causing the truly "messed up looking" models in my case (didn't try Arthanor's mod yet).

"they will be very messed up looking if you don't do this"

You mean eyes/noses/faces on their armors?

@Gleen Cross
That was the intent! Thank you very much!
