Morbus Install / How to Play

This guide will walk you through how to download, install and play the Morbus gamemode in Garry's mod as well as the maps required to play.

Downloading Morbus

Morbus gamemode and maps requires arming files that would otherwise not be present in a steam workshop download. This means we cannot simply plug and play mods from steam as you typically would.

1. Go to https://www.moddb.com/mods/morbus

The link will take you to the official Morbus site to download the most up to date versions of the maps and gamemode.

2. Download the most recent stable version of Morbus Gamemode and Morbus Map Pack

Only one of both are required as each version includes all past versions.

3. Decompress .zip/.rar files

You should have 2 compressed files. One for gamemode, one for maps. Unpack these files and distribute them to your local files in your Garry's mod directory.

Install Files to Garry's Mod

With the two unpacked files from Morbus mod website we need to install them to Garry's Mod.

1. Browse local files for Garry's Mod

You can find your local files by ( right click - manage - browse local files ) your steam game in your library.

2. Enter the garrysmod folder. Drag and drop the entire Morbus gamemode folder into your gamemodes folder

3. Drag and drop each individual map and their corresponding arming file in the maps folder

Subscribe to Morbus Mod

Although it may be unnecessary, this is how I ended up getting things working. I subscribed to the Morbus Gamemode posted by Remskar. None of the mods for Morbus on the Steam Workshop will have the arming files required to play just by themselves and will require additional content from the Morbus site.

Play Non-dedicated

To play casually with some friends select the Morbus gamemode which will now appear on launch for Garry's mod and a compatible Morbus map.

(NOTE: Morbus cannot be played on any old map and it highly suggested to play the official maps.)

(NOTE: Users trying to connect will also need the same files to join. If you are having issues connecting make sure all files are in their respective folders)

(NOTE: The game will not start without 3 or more players in the lobby)

Hey! I may have added the author to ask the question, but then maybe realized im goofy and could ask here, so feel free to reject the friend request if you want. I wanted to ask, does only the person hosting in a non dedicated have to have the mod on moddb with the mods on steam workshop? While everyone else can download just the workshop mods?
