Long time teased, finally released: possibly one of the most ambitious Gmod Half-Life RP maps i have done. Maybe even on the whole workshop, which is all why it is in Beta.

//Requirements//
Nothing should be required as it should all be packed into the bsp. The map file itself should be "rp_sector_16_v8", minus the quotation marks.

Do note that while no game should be required, the size and scope of the map might cause some issues for users on lower end PCs despite rigorous optimization. As well, be aware that despite attempts to prevent conflicts, other workshop items might still conflict with assets used in the map.

This includes NPCs. Certain map scripts will conflict with workshop NPCs.

//Gameplay//
  • General
    -Unique atmosphere that combines the Half-Life 2 Beta, Half-Life 2 Retail, Episodes and a bit of Half-Life: Alyx
    -Three trains that connect City 16, the Coast, the Citadel and the Prison
    -Scout car
    -Air boat
    -Spawn in patrolling and standing metro-cops in the city
    -Four teleports to different areas in the map
    -Spawnable Barnacles
    -Combine cameras that can be turned on
    -AI Nodes
    -Mostly clear road ways for driving around the whole map
    -Mostly blank interiors and names to allow players their own freedom to name and decorate things
  • City 16
    -Train Station
    -Six apartments
    -Five formerly commercial buildings
    -Working tram that runs around the city
    -Canals
    -Two enterable industrial buildings
    -Hospital
    -Dam with openable sluice gate for airboat jumps
  • Citadel
    -Spawn Manhacks in the city
    -Spawn Scanners in the city
    -Various world announcements
    -Administrator office with Judgement waiver and Breencast camera room
    -Train connection with the City 16 train station
  • Town & Coast
    -Antlions that come up from the sand
    -Thumper
    -Four enterable buildings including Resistance HQ
    -Docks area
    -Scenic overlook
  • Prison
    -Five cells
    -Shower room
    -Laundry room
    -Connection to City 16 via underground train platform

NEWLY ADDED FEATURES AS OF JUNE 6, 2022
  • Main menu thumbnail
  • More optimization in several places
  • Visual reworks of the hospital, beach, and underground parking garage
  • Better Cubemaps
  • Gas station building in the countryside

NEWLY ADDED FEATURES AS OF APRIL 17, 2023
  • New mine area along the coast
  • Renovated a few areas for better optimization
  • Headcrab pods that can be launched at the town from the Citadel
  • A whole lot of new props and models for nicer visuals and better optimization
  • New roadway gates into the city
  • Antlions start off now and can be turned on from the spawn room
  • Four new apartments, all of which are two bedrooms

While in the Gmod Sandbox mode, any dead bodies, blood stains, activated map scripts, or other changes can be cleaned/reset using this: Pressing Q -> Utilities -> Admin -> Cleanup -> Cleanup Everything

//Development//
Where do I begin? Well, this map has gone through several iterations, redesigns, and plans and it's taken a few years of off-and-on work. Entire sections have been redesigned, moved, and changed. In some form or fashion, I think every area has had some sort of change to it. I think really only the base ideas of areas have been the same.

I think my biggest battle for this and all maps I make is optimisation. It's so important but requires so much time., Including delaying and otherwise eating into some of my videos on Youtube.

I did release some videos a long while ago on some earlier versions of the map. So if you want to see some of them, check this video and this video out.

Also since this is more of a Beta, I guess you guys will see the rest of the development of the map :)

//Closing//
This one has been a crazy bit of development and I hope everyone enjoys the map. Please let me know of any issues. Even if I don't respond to comments I generally read them all and take notes of things.

@DIOLINKSID I haven't found one until now. Even if there is one it's probably dead, HL2RP isn't exactly the most played gamemode.

Gotta be honest, I really dislike what he did to the canal area, it feels way too... how do I put this?
"thight" and "closed off" while, in contrast it was very open previously, wich I think looked way nicer. Also, for some reason there's Antlion spawners there now.

New update!

There are far too many changes to specify here. Generally though, I have reworked the canals, industrial zone, parts of the left side of the city, and the town. Hopefully all resulting in better, visuals, gameplay, and performance.
