As of 7.0, this guide is now obsolete
The purchase order of powerups does not affect total cost as of the newest update, so this guide is no longer necessary. Feel free to purchase in any order you choose! Please consider everything below an archive.
Visual Guide
Game Version
Putting this right at the top - This guide was made for version v0.6.660. As the game is in early access with frequent updates, the guide may become out of date frequently. I'll try and keep it updated. This version has 19 PowerUps.
How does PowerUp Selection work?
You earn coins as you play. These coins can be used to unlock permanent PowerUps across all games. Each PowerUp you purchase increases the price of the next purchase by 10% of the base price. For example, buying Amount as your first purchase would cost 5000, but if you purchased a few upgrades in Might, Area, Recovery, etc and Amount is your 10th purchase, it would cost 9500. Since the PowerUps vary in the amount of upgrades you can purchase and price, this means that buying the same PowerUps in a different order could lead to a different total amount of coins spent.

Note that there is a Refund PowerUps button at the bottom, which resets everything - the 10% base price will be reset also. Feel free to purchase in whatever order at the beginning of the game, you can always start over.
When can I max everything?!
I have done some preliminary calculations and I believe the smallest total number of coins to max all PowerUps is 217,590.

Spaceboy commented asking what the amount would be if you do not include Greed (which only has the benefit of giving you more coins and nothing else), and that amount is 199,490. So you could get every combat bonus over 10,000 coins earlier!

If you do not include Curse (which only serves to make the game harder), the total needed is 155,639. If you do not include both Curse and Greed, the total needed is 139,039.
What is the order to max everything?
If you have 217,590 coins or more, this order should allow you to max all PowerUps. Note that you fully max each PowerUp before moving on to the next one.

  1. Revival
  2. Amount
  3. Curse*
  4. Growth
  5. Reroll
  6. Cooldown
  7. Luck
  8. Armor
  9. Might
  10. Recovery
  11. Greed**
  12. Area
  13. Speed
  14. Duration
  15. MoveSpeed
  16. Magnet
  17. Max Health
  18. Banish
  19. Skip

*If Curse is skipped, total will be 155,639.
**As noted in the previous section, by skipping Greed the total cost would be 199,490. Credit to Spaceboy for pointing this out.
What's the best strategy before I can max everything?
The best strategy is to get a general idea of mow much you can purchase for the PowerUps you want, and go from most expensive totalaverage* cost per PowerUp to least expensive. Note that while Growth total cost is higher than Amount, Amount should always be purchased first (feel free to experiment and see why). You shouldn't follow the list above for maxing everything if you do not have the required number of coins, as you will miss out on cheaper purchases for the PowerUps at the end of the list.

I don't really have advice on what PowerUps are good/bad for gameplay, you'll have to find another guide for that.

I found a cheaper way to max everything!
Awesome! I'm not 100% sure this is the cheapest way (I was playing around with the values in Excel, when I started the guide my number was 99,720 before Revival was added) so feel free to correct me in the comments and I will update the guide and give you credit.

Hello HoundNL, the order does not matter anymore - try experimenting! Buying in any order results in the same total cost, so I am choosing to not update the guide further. I put a note at the top of the guide to that effect.

Yo , "omni" is a new upgrade and has a base cost of 1000.
With 5 Levels.
Lower then Curse Higher then Growth.

I assume its best just after curse and before Growth.
so as a 3/4th buy

Turned a 45 minute numbers crunch into a solid 2 minute read! I had 148k coins when I came to this guide, now I have everything except curse and 2 ranks of max health!

Added in v0.2.13:
- Curse (initial cost - 1666)

Also tried to work out the costs and average:
Buy Prices
1666 | 3665 | 5998 | 8663 | 11662
Average = 6330.8 // Total = 31654

Adjusted/Actual Prices
1666 | 3332 | 5453 | 7875 | 10602
Average = 5785.6 // Total = 28928
FREVKY 13 febr. 2022 la 6:09
Added in v0.2.12:
- Reroll (initial cost - 10.000)
- Skip (initial cost - 1.000)

So Reroll should be slotted at the top of the list and Skip between Armor and Might if my calculations are correct.
