The only way the enemies can even get to you is by filling up the entire screen and pushing each other through the garlic field of death.
Crown: I think this is way overvalued, I just see it as a dead slot. The ramp isn't even noticeable, and punishes the end of the run.
Blank Heart: This seems quite high, but I think that's a personal playstyle issue.
Axe: This seems remarkably low to me. Early/mid it's very helpful for killing elites, and its evolution is amazing. :D
Garlic: My precious boy, so undervalued. I expected as much. I LOVE garlic! THIS is my ramp: early and mid I can use garlic to chase down enemies and farm exp like a madman. It also doubles as a convenient defensive utility thanks to hit-stun.
Candelabrador: Wow! I actually take this quite frequently, so I'm quite surprised to see it this low on this list. Making all of my attacks huge is a great way to improve my dps and clear out hordes. :D
I mostly agree. I think Attract is the best of them, and sometimes it allows you to survive the midgame, else you pick exp from a fraction of your kills, lag in level and in power.
> Defensive items can not save you if you don't have sufficient damage and knockback to keep monsters away. I'd limit these to D tier (the laurel is amazing but takes up an important weapon slot while the passives are a less significant cost).
Again, I mostly agree. Only, I don't value weapon slots as much. I think just black bible with good support items will pull you to 28 minutes. Laurel allows you a degree of error, so it's worth a slot imho. Well, if you are confident you'll destroy the mobs, then maybe not.
The crown(A), clover(A) and attract(F) all end up taking level investments without improving your power while limiting your end game maximum power. At best, they allow for a low initial return, a mid-game boost and an lower end-game cap. I'd move the crown and clover to E tier (if you want to evolve the cross, taking the under-powered clover is the cost). The stone mask(C) has no in-run return at all, so it is hard to rate it (it could be S or F depending on how much you value gold).
Defensive items including the armor(B), black heart(B), red heart(C), clock lancet(F) and even the laurel(B) can not save you if you don't have sufficient damage and knockback to keep monsters away. I'd limit these to D tier (the laurel is amazing but takes up an important weapon slot while the passives are a less significant cost).
What have you encountered to come to these different conclusions?
