Risen 2: How to Extract Complete Soundtrack From Game Files

As the official score is not complete, I created a guide showing, how to extract all the music files in high quality from game files.

Introduction

Hello Risen/Gothic/Elex (Piranha) community!
I always loved soundtrack of Risen 2 - I really did appreciate, how many songs have different version (Day, Night, Combat). Unfortunately, as you probably know the official score is incomplete - it contains 17 songs out of game's 38 songs.

So, I decided to gather information about how to extract this beautiful music.

Oh, and if you do not want to do it by yourself, complete soundtrack, with tags, is available on khinsider, both in uncompressed .FLAC and compressed .mp3.

How To Extract Music Files

Disclaimer

As always, I do recommend using some kind of VM (Windows Sandbox is an easy one) when installing/using new software, just to extract something. Even if it does not contain any virus or ad, there is no reason installing it on your main PC.
In this case, you do not need to install anything, but it's a good practice anyways. Stay safe!

What You Will Need

Risenaut - Link [forum.worldofplayers.de]
R2xsnd - Link [www.piranhabytesitalia.it]
Or, if you want, both files in one Gdrive folder[drive.google.com].

How To

1) Locate Risen 2 folder and go to \Risen 2 - Dark Waters\data\compiled. Look for sounds.pak
2) Use software risenout to extract sounds.pak into folders filled with ._xsnd files
Second option is software Game Extractor. However, that has to be installed.
3) Use software r2xsnd to convert ._xsnd files into .wav
4) Go support Tilman Sillescu!

Closing Thoughts

I always wanted to have complete high quality soundtrack but Official score was not complete and YouTube videos of gamerips were compressed.

Since it took me some time, of what (as you can see) is very easy process (if you got the tools needed), I thought maybe I will save somebody else's time by putting all the information which was scattered around web, mostly on non-English speaking forums into one guide.
