[ACT2] Sporedigger Crafting Guide

The Sporedigger is a critical component of my other guide, Gain Foils Quickly. Having more Sporediggers (instead of Gravediggers) in your deck will increase overkill damage and lead to faster foil accumulation. In this guide I will cover the basics of how to obtain Sporedigger cards.

Introduction

The Sporedigger is an act two card that can be obtained by merging two Gravegigger cards at the mushroom island. It costs one bone to play and digs up two bones per turn.

Sporecrafting cycles

The Sporecrafter cycles through the following spore cards:

1. Gravedigger + Gravedigger -> Sporedigger
   
2. Field Mice + Field Mice -> Spore Mice
   
3. Blue Mage + Blue Mage -> Blue Sporemage
   
4. Sentry Drone +Sentry Drone -> Sentry Spore
   
5. Back to 1.

Therefore in order to craft more Sporedigger cards, you will have to craft each of the other spore cards until the spore card type cycles back to the Sporedigger.

Base card cycles at the merchant

The base cards for each spore card are sold through merchants in each card's respective area, but there a catch: The loose card the merchant sells goes through cycles too. In order to buy a second copy of the same card, you will have to buy two other cards before the sold card type cycles back to the original.

Gravedigger cards are sold in the Dead area of the map. They can be bought from the bottom left of the four loose cards on the merchant's screen.


Field Mice cards are sold in the Beast area of the map. They can be bought from the bottom left of the four loose cards on the merchant's screen.


Blue Mage cards are sold in the Magick area of the map. They can be bought from the bottom left of the four loose cards on the merchant's screen.


Sentry Drone cards are sold in the Technology area of the map. They can be bought from the top right of the four loose cards on the merchant's screen.

Crafting Sporedigger Cards

1. You will need some capital (foils) first. Refer to my other guide for earning foils quickly:

2. With your cash in hand, buy up the required base cards from each merchant. Allocate 1/4 of your funds for each spore card base so that you have an even number of cards.
   
3. Go to the mushroom island and talk to the Sporecrafter.
   
4. Craft and cycle through each spore card type until you run out of ingredient cards.
   
5. Use the crafted Sporedigger cards to further optimize your cash-earning deck.
   
6. Repeat from 1.
