How to fix FPS drops?
By Geno
If you ever check the processes in the task manager while running CS:GO, you'll notice that a significant amount of resources are used by various Steam Client Webhelper processes, which are basically associated with steam's in-built browser. At times these processes start consuming so much of the resources that it hinders the game's performance.Follow this guide to prevent Steam Client Webhelper from doing so.

Editing Steam Interface settings

  • On the Menubar, click on Steam > Settings.
  • Choose Interface and uncheck:
    • Smooth Scrolling in web views.
    • GPU accelerated rendering in web views.
    • Hardware video decoding.

  • Additionally, you can also disable in-game steam overlay by choosing In-Game and unchecking Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.
Disable animated avatars and chat effects.

  • Open Friends& chat window and click on settings icon.
  • In Friend List section, switch off Animated Avatars & Animated Avatar Frames in your Friends List and Chat.

  • In Chat section, switch on Disable Animated Room Effects.
(Optional) Launch steam without browser components.
This method will ensure that the impact of Steam interface is minimum. However, if you choose to follow this, you won't be able to use a lot of steam features.

  • Exit steam if it is already running.
  • Create a shortcut of steam.exe.
If you don't know how to, go to the folder where steam is installed, which is by default C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam. Once you're in this folder, find steam.exe, right click on it > Send to > Desktop (Create Shotcut).
  • Now right click on the shotcut and go to its properties. In the Target field, add -no-browser +open steam://open/minigameslist in front of "location\steam.exe" (See Screenshot).
  • Launch Steam via this shotcut.

Shoutout to chuNk for mentioning this method.

yes, but the ultimate way to boost your fps is using the old UI
just create shortcut from steam.exe with parameters -no-browser
right click steam shortcut and click properties. add -no-browser to target field.
exmaple. "c:\steam\steam.exe" -no-browser or without the " ".... with this method you get the best performance but you can't use modern features like being able to paste image to the chat. and game properties do not work (you can't change launch options etc.) so when you need to use the newer features you can use browser steam chat or normal chromium bases steam UI.
