SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV) Mk.8 Mod 0

Descripción
The 'Gator Class' SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV) Mk.8 Mod 0 is a wet submersible, employed by the US Navy's SEAL teams and the Royal Navy's Special Boat Service. It's purpose is to covertly deliver Special Operations Forces from offshore (typically from submarines), closer inland so they can conduct their missions. Originally fielded in the early 1980's they can carry six divers, their gear, and provide breathable air so as to preserve the longevity of the divers rebreathers. There has been continued upgrades made to these vehicles over the decades and they have (supposedly) been replaced in the last few years by newer models.

This rendition of the SDV is capable of carrying six divers, rifles, ammunition, explosives, and night vision equipment. It is also capable of recharging diving gear for all divers aboard for an extended period of time. It can maintain depth or follow the contour of the ocean floor as well as maintain a heading or track a map waypoint. It also comes equipped with sonar for tracking contacts and LIDAR for mapping harbors. Perfectly suited for raiding islands and capturing them from the enemy, or covertly sinking enemy shipping.

Specifications:

Speed: 16 KTS
Battery Duration: 1 hour (real time)
Diver Capacity: 6 Divers

Operational Notes:
***PLEASE REFERENCE THE SCREENSHOTS ABOVE, MANY ITEMS ARE HIDDEN FROM VIEW***
  • Leaving any of the cockpit or passenger doors open will induce drag and slow the SDV, keep the doors closed while transiting to increase the SDV's hydrodynamics and speed.
  • If the Pilot is ejected from the SDV while the throttle "sticky" setting is engaged the propulsion motor will automatically stop.
  • When the Ballast Tanks are either empty or full the SDV is only slightly positively or negatively buoyant. While it will submerge or surface on it's own, it is best to "drive" the SDV to the the desired depth with the propulsion motor.
  • To maintain a given depth when stationary turn 'ON' the "Neutral Buoyancy Control", the SDV will maintain it's current depth.
  • The depth hold function has two modes, either the SDV will hold a given depth or follow the contour of the ocean floor. To select depth hold, ensure the depth gauge is displaying the current depth, then press '1' available from the Pilot Seat 'hot keys'. To follow the ocean floor contour, ensure the depth display indicates the sounding depth, then press 'hot key 1'. Once the depth hold light is 'ON' you can switch between either depth reading and the depth hold function will maintain it's last input.
  • The "Doppler Inertial Navigation System (DINS)" works like any other simple waypoint autopilot. However, it must be aligned first, To align the DINS submerge no deeper then 13 feet and raise the mast. Once the "Datalink" light stops blinking and remains on the system is aligned and you can lower the mast and submerge. DINS will drift over time, periodically you will need to realign the system using the same process explained above.
  • The Radio can only be used when the SDV is at or above 13 feet and the mast is raised.
  • The only internal lighting is provided by Chemlights. When the Chemlight is "cracked" i.e. turned on, green light will illuminate the fore or aft cockpit for a short period. The Fore Cockpit Chemlight can only be "cracked" from the 'Pilot Seat'.
  • Diving gear is available for all personnel (located under all seats). When one set becomes low on air, quickly exchange it for the fresh set located next to it. To recharge the Diving Gear ensure the 'Onboard Air Flask Regulator' is 'ON'. If the 'Flow Rate' gauge is indicating +/- 2 CFM the empty Diving Gear is being recharged. As Diving Gear is recharged the 'Regulator Pressure' will drop. Once regulator pressure reaches 0 PSI the onboard air flasks are empty and you will be unable to recharge your Diving Gear. To "recharge" the Air Flasks simply recharge the batteries from an external source.

WARNINGS:
  • Familiarize yourself with where YOUR Diving Gear is located. Each occupant has two sets. Switching between the two must be done quickly or death will result.
  • Sharks can and will pluck you from the seats. Try to avoid them!
  • When the Depth Gauge begins flashing you are approaching the maximum depth at which the Diving Gear can sustain you.

ENJOY!

P.S. Watch out for aircraft and helicopters! They see all!!!

cbchips12, thanks for the comment and I'm sorry you are having trouble.
First things first, since the 'Pressure Update' this build has been alittle broken, rest assured I will fix it...sooner or later.
As for the ChemLite; it naturally dims slowly until it extinguishes, at which point you will have to "crack" it again. If its not going out at all I guess you probably have 'Infinite Electricity' turned on in the options, turn that off and it should work.
Hope that helps!

Jacket, yes Sir it is. ;)
Be advised, it's probably alittle broken however after the "pressure updates" I'll try to get it fixed soon.

OperatorAron, sure I would very much like to fix it at some point.
However, my work schedule is very chaotic and I haven't had much time for Stormworks, but time permitting it will be fixed.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Be warned however, this SDV is still partially broken after the pressure update(s), and still in need of repair.
