Introduction

With the third-party app Yamatai Patch by sicklebrick linked below you can do the following, among other things:
  • Turn off camera bob/shake/wobble and control other camera settings
  • Cheat via the built-in trainer
  • Change cosmetics like breast size & jiggle, remove dirt, hide weapons and more

Important notes before using this program by the app developer:

Antivirus software:
Yamatai Patch uses a common technique called Keyboard Hooking. It lets the program check which keys are being pressed when you're in the game, so that you can activate/deactivate cheats without alt-tabbing.
Some antivirus programs will report a false positive due to it being the same technique keyloggers use. So do yourself a favour and upload the Yamatai Patch exe file to virustotal.com, to see for yourself how un-dangerous it is.
Yamatai Patch makes no attempt to store said key presses, nor does it have any internet connectivity.
(Hyperlinks are handled by your operating system/browser).

Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC):
Yamatai Patch makes *zero* attempt to hide itsself or activities.
In a single player game this is fine, in multiplayer you're gonna get caught, so always close this program and the game completely before entering multiplayer, then re-launch Tomb Raider without Yamatai Patch running to be 100% sure.

Installing the app
  1. Close the game if it's running.
  2. Download and run the file "TR 2013 Yamatai Patch R4 Setup.exe".
  3. Select the install mode.
  4. Enter the following password via copy & paste and click [Next]:
    .R]}2Bxs2xPyZ"!NNr\\4*v[u
  5. Read the information and click [Next].
  6. Select the folder in which Tomb Raider is installed on your PC. You can find that folder by going to your Steam Library, right-clicking "Tomb Raider" in the games list on the left and then "Manage" → "Browse local files".
  7. After you click [Next] you should get a message that the folder already exists. Click [Yes] to install to that folder anyway.
  8. On the Select Additional Tasks page, choose whether or not you want to create a desktop shortcut and click [Next].
  9. On the Ready to Install page, click [Install].
  10. After the installation has finished, choose whether or not you want to run the app and click [Finish] to close the setup program.
  11. If your antivirus software complains about the Yamatai Patch exe file, you need to add an exception for this file in the settings of your antivirus software and maybe restore the exe file if it was deleted or moved to quarantine.
Turn off camera bob/shake/wobble
  1. Open the Yamatai Patch app.
  2. Switch to the Camera tab.
  3. Activate the "No Cam Wobble" option. (It's green when it's activated.)
  4. If you want to assign a shortcut key to an option, click on [...], press the desired key combination and click [OK].
Uninstall
  1. Open the Windows start menu.
  2. Scroll down to the folder "Tomb Raider (2013) - Yamatai Patch (Steam)" and click on it.
  3. Click on the "Uninstall" shortcut.
  4. Select [Yes] when asked if you want to uninstall the app.
  5. Click [OK] when the uninstallation process is complete.
Further details
The installer replaces the files "steam_api.dll" and "TombRaider.exe" in the game directory to the older build 748 because the app developer stopped updating the Yamatai Patch for newer game versions. When you uninstall the patch, the original files are restored.

The installer is encrypted and password protected so that anti-virus software cannot falsely detect the installer as malware.

@Axeloide I don't know why your game doesn't start anymore, but if you uninstall the patch, it should work again. There are instructions for that in the guide.

That's odd, the cosmetic options still work fine for me. Do options from other tabs work for you?
Headcrab Sep 18, 2024 @ 1:36am
for some reason, none of the cosmetic things will work, i will keep trying for now but it just wont work

Yes, because the Yamatai Patch only works with a game .exe file from an older Steam version. Can't you just load the last base camp savegame or is this already bugged?

Is this only for the steam version? Or can this also be used for the Epic Games version? In Geothermal Caverns, I encountered a GBB with a red cage that went into the wall and now it is non-existent and I need to jump onto that cage to wall scrabble to the next part of the map. Now my game has come to a complete stop and I can not progress because of the red cage. Looking to use like a no-clip from this to be able to actually progress the game. But not sure if it's compatible with the Epic Games version?

As far as I know there is no Defintive Edition for PC but only for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, or do you mean the "Tomb Raider Definitive Survivor Trilogy" bundle? This app only works for this Steam version.
Does the Yamatai Patch app say "Status: Game Found - Ready!" in the bottom left when the game is running?

I'm unsure if this is an issue with how I installed it but when I open the game with the Yamatai Patch activated and press one of the keys for the mod, the game just freezes for a moment before then turning off without ever activating the mod aspect. Is this an issue with the definitive edition, a recent update or just something on my end? (And I did install it in accordance with the install instructions as of note)
