Prologue - A Witch's Notes

These are some tips on how to use the keyboard and mouse controls.

Note: I will add more once I progress further.

Don't Forget To

Note: Most of these are from my experimenting, especially if it involves pressing random buttons. Some are just a theory, a game theory. Also, please help me catch any outdated/incorrect information, misspellings and grammar mistakes. Thank you in advance.
Control Layouts - Keyboard

Here's where all the gameplay control settings and other nice stuff are at.

Control Layouts - Settings
These are some of the options to be toggle to a comfortable way as well.

Sorry, this is probably a bad example, since this is probably "my" settings, I had to toggle the cameras a bit. The Default camera angles and speed were just too slow for my liking.

Personal Setup

It's mostly the Default Setup, but with a few differences.

X - Lock-On

The camera movement is faster than default.
Chapter Selections
Click continue when the "Continue from last Checkpoint" and it will go to whatever the "last" save point chapter that left off.

This is a bad example, since I am farming for gem stones and rings.

Click on the Submenu

These options, should open, and click on Chapter Select, this will go to this page. Then proceed to whatever wanted chapter.

Unlike, some of the games that I previously played, I have to go through this method, instead of the usual click on Load to load up my saves and continue were I left off.

Basics
Skipping Cutscenes

To skip cutscenes, press the keyboard's Esc button, a message pops out to give ya the choice of skip or not.

The other way is to press the Shift + Enter buttons.

Shooting

Press both the E and F keys will get Bayonetta to do basic combat.

Twinkle Toes

To use her stiletto's guns, press and hold the Right Mouse Button to kick and fire.

Taunting

To taunt, just press Q.

There are various different taunts, it all depends on the equipped weapons.

"Sliding Kick"

Not exactly a kick per se, but to get this press "W"/Whatever key that you're using to move forward and Shift.

Witch Time Puzzle

With this particular puzzle, it requires the repairing of the Umburn Sages and Witch statues, after defeating the Archangels and their underlings. Now the puzzle is ready for Witch Time, have Bayonetta snap her fingers, then press the E to bring the lightning beam and press the Shift + A or D keys at the same time to dodge. Viola, Witch Time is activated.

Beast Girl

Press Shift quickly and repeatedly.

Practice Mode

To go to Practice Mode press the Tab key, once you're finish spreading and flapping your wings. Press Tab again to leave.

Screen Shrinking And Returning

Suppose you had to shrink the game, so, ya can do something else on the computer (Like hiding this game from small kids or your parents when they walked in). To return, Click on the game's icon on taskbar, will return you to your game. But you'll see the game in this particular pause mode.

Backflip/Forward Flip

To do either a fancy backflip or foward flip, just press both Shift + S keys .

Double Jump

To stay afloat in midair, just press the Spacebar twice or just once to jump again whilst in midair.
Inventory Stash
Default

Pressing the Tab button will bring up the inventory stash, this is where stuff, like the Items, Weapons, and Records are kept.

Press Page Up to also cycle through the tabs, like Items, Files, and Insert.

The default is always the left hand page.

Important Item Slots

To choose a weapon (or any item or accessories), just scroll down/up and the circle will move. Once you find the one that ya want to equip, just click enter and it will go to the secondary menu, where you can decided which segments that it goes, A or B slots, use your keyboard keys to move around the placements.

Up Close

When looking at an item, like a weapon, press the Home button to zoom in.

Bag-ology

The default bag rings are designed like the Earth and it's insides:

  • The outer scroll ring where the weapons/items/accessories are featured is the crust.
  • The inner ring are the juicy insides.
  • The 1/4ths A/B slots are the core.*

* I usually associate the "Core" areas with the 1/4th weapons slot, despite that there's other parts of the backpack that follows the Earth geology pattern, but don't involve weapons.

Setting Up Items

To put Items in the key(s), so you can whip these up in a seconds, you scroll through your stuff, click/press Enter. In this case, the Green Herb lollipop, click on Set and put it on the Key slot that ya want. Just like here.

If you want to change the Item or remove it, just scroll to that item to match it, click the key slot again.

Cap

There's an item cap of how many candies (and perhaps other items) that your bag can hold. The number cap is 99, the screenshot clip example shows that I can't make more Green Herb Lollipop.
Reading Material
Use the mouse's scroll to cycle through the books.

When opening one of them, you can go to the next page by pressing Page Up or backtracking by pressing Insert.

Since the book is open the mouse scroll can be use to scroll up and down the page.

Concocting Sweets
For extra health candy or putting the gem fragments into good use. This chapter will show how to cook, this is also for penny pinching purposes.

Gather all these tiny fragments, press Tab on the keyboard to open up the inventory and click on Items and click on Concocting Compounds/the arrow pointing to CC.

Click on the arrow pointing to the candy wheel and use the mouse wheel to scroll until you come to the candy shard that you want. Then press D key and hold down/hold down the Enter button on the keyboard/hold down the left mouse button, until the bar goes up to either 2 or 3 fractions (depending on what recipe you're following.)

Press the Spacebar/place your mouse on the Concoct circle and click repeatedly like getting Garromorah to chomp down on some Beloveds, until your lollipop or flute is complete.

Voilà, Finish Results

Tip: You can switch the candy gem on the wheel by scrolling up/down on your mouse wheel.

Also, there's a few chapters that are good for farming candy shards to make lollipops and other useful items.

These chapters are: Chapter 1 (The Angel's Metropolis), Chapter 6 (The Gates Of Paradise)* and .

* This chapter is an honorable mention, In one of the areas where the Beloved gets stuck, that's one of the perfect tiny place to farm, break the nearby trash bins and benches. But I want somewhere peaceful to farm.
Hell's Gate
Shopping
Now, using either the mouse or keyboard's keys (like the arrow buttons), scroll up or down and click/press Enter of which category to see it's wares.
Weapons

A or B

To switch between the weapon pair, without opening up the backpack, press either the A/B keyboard buttons or use the mouse scroll.

Kulshedra

Slice An' Dice

Pistols

Shuraba

Pressing down on L Mouse button will make Bayonetta charge up after slicing, then when letting go of the button, she swings Shuraba 360 degrees.

Doing A Iai-Jutsu

To do this, just hold down on the L Mouse button a tiny bit longer than normal and let go.

Angelic Weapons

After defeating some of the angels/foes, they will drop their weapons, and Bayonetta can pick these off of the ground by pressing E.

Suppose there's a need to whip out the pistols while carrying that heavenly weapon? Press the "E" keyboard key.

Durga

Now this weapon can only be found in Chapter 5, via gathering two LPs from BIgger Fairneses. Once ya obtained it, the Hell's Gate technique shop will unlock a few swanky moves.

These moves, Bat , are specifically only for Durga. To use these moves, just tap Shift twice.

Similar to using the Angelic Weapons, if you want to fire your pistols for whatever reason. Press E.

Mega-Green Herb Lollipop Tip:

(Put placas location guide here.)

This guide will show the locations of the placas, so, ya can get new weapons.

Honorable Mentions

Osu!/McOsu

This rhythm game (and its cousin) is suppose to help with reaction timing. But it doesn't replace a proper FPS trainer game.

(Note: McOsu is made to make practicing more customizable and flexible than Osu!, it's not are replacement for the actual game.)

Mega - Green Herb Lollipop- Troubleshooting

If the customized keybindings somehow ended up vanishing into the ethos, when opening up the game. Press Home or Pos1 keyboard buttons will fix it.

I am not TechFixIt, therefore I didn't make the vid.

Disappearing Health Bars?

If all of a sudden, you find the health bars have disappeared, during the midst of a fight, like my accident featured here. Its due to accidentally pressing the F8 keyboard key.

The F8 key is the toggle key switch for the UI.
