Description

This addon may cause some problems when playing the HL2 Campaign!

This addon may be compatible with some other NPC enhancement addons, and is currently experimental. Be sure to test it first. If you've found a conflict, be sure to report it in the "Bugs" thread.

I'm sure that iNPC may be compatible with this addon. If you found some conflicting issues, please report it to the Bug Reports thread.

This addon slightly improves AI, footsteps, and weapons of Default Half-Life 2 NPCs.

This is not a NPC Pack!

What it does to NPCs:

Citizens

If the NPC has no weapon, it will use different idle animations. only included for Father Grigori

Citizens will properly hold food packages and suitcases.

Weapons

Instead of using the SMG1 Reload anim, Most NPCs will use the Unused AR2 Reload animation.
Metrocops will properly use AR2 and Shotgun weapons.
Most NPCs will use the Alt-fire attack for the AR2 and the Shotgun.
Citizens will melee attack against enemies who are very close to them.

When NPCs are about to hide and reload, They will crouch-run to their spot to prevent getting Headshot.
NPCs properly fire and reload the crossbow.

Footsteps

NPCs and Players will have different footsteps, depending on the model of the entity.
Examples:
Combine soldier have soldier gear sounds as their footsteps
Citizens, alyx, barney, and some others have their footsteps changed.

Known Issues
Errors may occur in some circumstances.

To prevent conflict with multiple hooks, the "Fixed NPC Footsteps" hook will be removed.

Cvars
npc_disable_player_footsteps - If set to 1, This will disable custom player footsteps. Default value is 0.
npc_strider_disable_auto_aggressive_behavior - If set to 1, This will disable the ability for striders to automatically use their aggressive behavior. Default value is 0.
npc_antlionguard_force_hl2_step_sounds - If set to 1, This will disable the episodic footstep sounds for the antlion guard. Default value is 0.

sry but what i said was unrelated to your mod because i just happened to stumble upon it and the first screenshot includes "Chaes 1" which (probably) is now a lost map and what i meant is this and another mod (the map but missing half it's content so most of it is errors) is the only thing left about it

I'm working on a better successor to this add-on. I won't be working on this add-on any longer. It'll be much better than this, trust me.

this mod and another one may or may not be the only evidence of the warfare chaes/cnpp map and that really upsets me because the other one is missing half of the content on the map
