Intro
Mirror's Edge Catalyst is a game with pretty good performance. Even so, there are reasons to want an FPS counter, and there's no in game option for this; or so most think.

There's actually a fairly easy way to get one working on the Steam and Origin versions of the game. So, let's get into it.
How to do it
The way this trick works is to use the left over debug tools in the game. These were likely used during testing so that the devs could work on performance. However, they're perfect for our needs.

1. Go to the game directory (This should be in Steam's common folder under the steamapps folder.)

2. In the game's main folder (Should be named Mirror's Edge Catalyst), create a new file called user.cfg and open it up in notepad (Or a text editor of your choice.)

3. In that file, type this string: PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1

4. Save and close the file.

Now, when you boot up the game, there should be a green FPS counter in the top right corner.
A step further
Now, there are some other debug tools that we can use; not all of them are useful, but a few are:

  • UI.DrawEnable 0 (This disables the in-game UI. You can change the 0 to a 1 to re-enable if you're doing this from the in game console.)
  • WorldRender commands (There are too many to list, but they allow you to fine-tune your graphics)
  • PostProcess commands (Again, more in depth graphics settings)
Conlusion
There are a low more console commands that can be used, however I can't list them all here. Feel free to experiment!
