Foreword
In November 2020 a new remade version of Mad Father was released on Steam. Playing through it recently, however, I noticed there was almost no guide for it (in English, at least). And so I made it my mission to prepare one, and a pretty comprehensive one at that, hopefully.

It can be a bit wordy, tho, so if you're looking for a shorter no-nonsense walkthrough or hint guide, please refer to vgperson's website here >>[vgperson.com].

If you spot any errors/mistakes/goofs etc. or if something seems unclear in my wording (I'm not a native speaker of English, mind you), please leave a comment: constructive criticism is always welcome.

Overview

Notes
  • The remake features 21 achievements to unlock which requires 1 full playthrough (in the Normal mode) and 1 partial one (in the Blood mode) plus a brief incursion into the IF mode.
  • 19 achievements can be unlocked in the course of your first playthrough in the Normal mode, while the 2 remaining ones can only be unlocked in the Blood and IF modes respectively (one in each).
  • The Normal mode is available from the get-go, with the Blood and IF modes unlocking upon completion of the True Ending to the game in the Normal mode.
  • There are also 20 gems to be found throughout that are necessary to unlock a bonus post-credits scene (only in the True Ending path) for an achievement. This guide will highlight their locations and any extra steps needed to collect them.
  • This guide offers a full walkthrough of the game in the Normal mode with the achievements listed at their respective points of unlocking, with all 20 gems locations highlighted as well.
  • I've tried my best to keep this guide as spoiler-free as possible but obviously that's not entirely possible so read it at your own discretion.
  • The Blood mode features a very similar step-by-step progression to the Normal mode with some changes to the overall story.
  • The IF mode is very brief and rather linear.
  • The Normal mode features 3 endings: 2 bad ones and one true one. The Blood mode and IF mode offer only one ending each.

Roadmap for modes, gems and achievements
  • First you should complete the Normal mode while unlocking 19 achievements, collecting all 20 gems and attaining all 3 endings.
  • Then you can speedrun through the Blood Mode without collecting any extra gems but earning 1 achievement along the way.
  • Finally, finish the IF mode quickly to unlock the last achievement.
Controls
If you're familiar with any games made in RPGMaker or Wolf RPG Editor, the controls should be your second nature by now, but for a newcomer they can be a little obscure so here's a brief rundown:

There's no way to rebind the keyboard controls so get used to them and quick. Personally, I use arrows to move with one hand plus Space to interact, Shift to chainsaw and Esc to access the menu with the other.
Tips
  • There are no autosaves nor quicksaves and you only save manually by interacting with a crow that can quite inexplicably be found at various locales throughout the game.
  • That said, save often because you CAN die in this game and probably will at one point or another. In the guide below, I'll recommend specific points when you should save before a particularly tricky part so you can avoid losing too much progress in case you mess up.
  • Speaking of untimely demise, it can come at any moment so stay vigilant, especially because of the recurring QTEs and chase sequences with fast moving enemies: some can be avoided entirely but others are mandatory. In the guide below, I'll warn you about those sequences in advance (look for this sign⚠️).
  • If you happen to die, however, consider quitting to the Main Menu instead of selecting to continue especially if you've saved recently, as each use of the continue feature will be reflected in your Record (accessible via the in-game Menu and displayed at the end of every playthrough).
  • On that point, it's highly recommended that you read the guide below at least one step ahead of your current progress so that you can avoid any nasty surprises and know exactly what to do next.
  • There's no way to fight enemies head on so do NOT even try or you'll die. Your best bet is to run from them and/or find a way to deal with them indirectly.
  • Take some time to actually read the tips displayed in-game as they explain some of the mechanics quite well.
  • If you're stuck, open your Menu. Here you can check the Mission tab for a list of your current objectives. From here you can also access the Item tab and use your inventory in the environment around you. Monitor the Record tab regularly for the number of gems you've collected so far.

Part 1 (Prologue & Mansion)
When prompted, choose to "Start from prologue." Do NOT skip it. Otherwise, you'll miss an opportunity to unlock an achievement.

Prologue
➕Explore the room

1. Examine the portrait to the right of Aya's bed for 🏆 1/21:

2. Examine the doll sitting on the chair left of the bed.
3. Examine the bookshelf further to the left. There are two books there. Check the leftmost one ("The Red-Eyed Stranger") for 💎 1/20.
4. Examine the white rabbit (Snowball) sleeping in the basket in its pen.

5. Go to bed.
6. Exit the room on the bottom of the screen.

7. Go left as prompted.
8. Descend the stairs and go left or right of them as prompted.

11. Examine the pile of dolls blocking your way.

14.⚠️Go towards the bottom middle of the screen to where you've just seen ✨ fall down the stairs. As soon as you approach it, you'll be chased so quickly pick it up for 💎 2/20 and escape the pursuers by exiting the screen anywhere (e.g. back to the hallway you just came out of or to the left/right archway).

Mansion 2F
1. Go back upstairs and to the right, back into East Hallway.
2. Enter the door on the right (Nursery) and take the pet rabbit Snowball with you, then exit the room.
3. Enter the door on the left (Bedroom), examine the golden safe by the far wall.

5. Pick up ✨ on the windowsill. You'll get Archives Key.
6. Exit the room, then exit to the left of the screen to Entrance, and go all the way left, staying upstairs and entering West Hallway.
7. Unlock the door to Archives with 🧰Archives Key and enter.
8. Check the rightmost bookshelves to read "The Flame Egg" and leftmost bookshelves to read "Data on live experimentation" and find Code Memo stuck in it.

9. Pick up ✨ that's been dropped. You'll get Pendant.
10. Examine 🧰Code Memo for hints about the safe code.
11. SAVE because as soon as you exit the room, you'll hear a strange noise.

12. Move towards the golden poles blocking you way on the left and immediately hide on the left side of the statue, letting the apparition pass you and knock down some poles.
13. Exit to the left of the screen.

14.⚠️Approach the push cart from the left side to pick up 💎 3/20 but be ready to escape from the pursuer to the right as soon as you collect it. (If you pick the gem from the right of the push cart, the pursuer will have an easier way of blocking your escape route and killing you, resulting in a Game Over.)
15. Go right into Entrance Hall and count the number of chandeliers as per the 1st hint on 🧰Code Memo. Solution: 4. Set that number on the memo.
16. Go right into East Hallway, enter Bedroom (door on the left), stand by the window and use 🧰Pendant for 🏆 2/21:
Mother's Child

17. Pick up 💎 4/20 in front of you and exit the room.
18. Go left into Entrance Hall and enter Doll Room on the left upstairs.
19. Approach the throne by the far wall and pick up 💎 5/20.
20. Examine the curtains on the right and count the number of red dolls in the room as per the 3rd hint on 🧰Code Memo, making sure to include the two hidden behind the curtain you've just opened. Solution: 8. Set that number on the memo, then exit the room.

Mansion 1F
1. Descend the stairs and enter the archway on the left (east), then enter the only door there leading to Reception Hall.
2. Approach the chess board by the left wall and a chair will move towards you. Push it from the left side all the way right and then from the bottom all the way up. Interact with the chair to climb on top of it, and then examine ✨ to get Old Key.
3.⚠️SAVE and only then examine the painting by the far left wall. You'll have to defend yourself by pressing a sequence of buttons in another QTE.
4. Afterwards, move away from the painting and it'll fall down. Approach the now uncovered safe and examine it.

5. Open the safe with 🧰Old Key.

6. Take Dagger from the safe.
7. Exit the room, go right and down to Entrance Hall and enter the other archway on the right (west).
8. Enter the door on the left to Changing Room.
9. Move right towards the hats and Aya will automatically count them for you. Partial solution: 5.
10. Approach the dress on display by the window and use 🧰Dagger on it to get Cloth.
11. Exit the room and enter the one of the right now (Bathroom).
12. Count the number of planters (or more specifically, potted plants) in there. Partial solution: 3. Now subtract that number from the number of hats in the previous room as per the 2nd hint on 🧰Code Memo to arrive at another code for the safe. Solution: 2. Set that number on the memo.
13.⚠️(If you're feeling lucky, you might attempt the next step without saving but I strongly advise you to SAVE anyway by going back upstairs and to 2F East Hallway.) There's 💎 6/20 by the bathtub but as soon as you pick it up, you'll have to escape the pursuer by exiting the room before it blocks and kills you, which can be a bit tricky given its speed.
14. Go left and down to Entrance Hall and then enter Central Hallway right of the stairs, and then the left door to Cafeteria.
15. Examine the curtains by the far left wall and pick up 💎 7/20.
16. Count the number of barrels in there as per the 4th hint on 🧰Code Memo. Solution: 0. Set that number on the memo. Now, you should have the whole sequence. Full solution: 4280.

Mansion 2F
1. Go back to Bedroom (2F, East Hallway, left door) and enter the code to the safe.

2.⚠️Examine the now open safe to get Lamp. Exit the room. (Do NOT approach the bed unless you want to contend with yet another QTE.) SAVE.

Mansion 1F
1. Go back to the 1F Central Hallway (exit left from 2F East Hallway, down and under the stairs) and enter the door on the right (Kitchen).
2.⚠️There's 💎 8/20 between the cupboard and the sink in there but as soon as you pick it up, you'll be chased by the dog: escape by leaving the room.
3. Re-enter Kitchen and this time, move all the way to the right by the bottom wall. Examine the pile to get Firewood and then the conspicuously rolled-up corner of the rug. Aya will uncover a metal trap door underneath. Stand on and interact with the trap door for Aya to open it and enter.

You should now have 8 💎and 2 🏆 in total.
Part 2 (Basement 1F, Backyard & Mansion)
Basement 1F
➕Investigate Storehouse

1. The door to Storehouse is blocked from the inside but there's a hole on the left that you can examine. Then follow Arya's own advice and use 🧰Snowball on the hole.
58. While controlling Snowball, examine ✨ on the top left to get Wire, the last of the materials you need to make a torch. Exit back through the hole.

2. Back as Aya, use any of the items in your inventory (🧰Wire, 🧰Firewood or 🧰Cloth) and she'll automatically combine them into Torch.

3. Try to exit the passage for 🏆 3/21:

4. Exit the passage back to Kitchen.

Mansion 1F
(If you go back to Reception Room now and try to light the torch, it won't burn too well, prompting you to look for oil ➕Find oil, but you can skip this mission entirely if you follow the next step.)

1. Examine the red vase by the room's exit and use 🧰Torch on it to soak it in oil.
2. Go back to Reception Room (1F, West Hallway), use 🧰Torch on the fireplace and choose to light it.

3. With the lit torch, exit West Hallway to the bottom right and go right under the stairs. Exit Central Hallway at the bottom.

Basement 1F
1. In the passage interact with the pile of dolls blocking your way and choose to burn them.
2. Exit the screen to the right.
3. In Taxidermy Room examine the table and when you try to leave to the right, ✨ will fall down from it. Examine it to get Bottle of Eyeballs.
4. Exit the room, move along the passage towards the door at the end and enter Laboratory.

5. Examine the figure on the floor twice to get Room Key, then exit the room to the top left.
6. After the cutscene, go back to Incubation Room you've just exited. At the bottom left of it pick up 💎 9/20.
7. Re-enter Mortuary and examine the head on the first table on the right.

8. When you go up past the third row of tables, the body on the left will sit up. Examine it for Aya to uncover the sheet. When you try to exit the room to the top, a headless body will start to chase you, but fear not, it can't actually hurt you. Bring it close to the head on the table and it will automatically reattach the head to its neck.

9. Pick up 💎 10/20 that dropped in front of you as a reward for your trouble.
10. Exit the room to the top and examine the door to the room in front of you.

11. As the door is shut tight, leave through the archway at the far right. At Crossroads, there are wooden barriers on the left and right and a ladder towards the top that you should climb up.

Backyard
1. Exit the room to the bottom right. In the next room, a wooden barricade blocks your way, so climb up the short ladder on the left, stand behind the crate in the middle and push it towards the edge so it breaks.
2. Climb down the ladder and pick up ✨ to get Mini Chainsaw.
3. Remember the on-screen tips about using it and then climb back up the ladder and chainsaw the leftmost barrel to get 💎 11/20.
4. Climb down the ladder, exit the room back to the previous one and climb down the ladder back to Basement.

Basement 1F
1. Chainsaw the wooden barricades on the left and right of the cross-shaped passage.
2. On the left there's Flame Retardant for you to pick up between the crates.
3. There's also a ladder in the upper right corner of that little space. Examine it and choose to move it. Do just that by stepping backwards once, then sideways all the way to the right and upwards once when you get to the other side. Aya will automatically place it by the wall. Climb the ladder to the top and pick up 💎 12/20.
4. Examine the figure sitting on the floor for 🏆 4/21:
Come Again...?
5. Return up the ladder to Barn, exit the room to the bottom right and chainsaw the wooden barrier in the bottom center of the next room.
6. Exit to the bottom of the screen back to Kitchen in the Mansion.

Mansion 1F
1. Go to Reception Room (West Hallway) and approach the fireplace.

2. Use Flame Retardant on the fireplace.

3. Examine the fireplace again and choose to look inside. When zoomed-in on the inside of the fireplace, press the interaction button to move the grate and use 🧰Bottle of Eyeballs on it.
4. SAVE and leave the room and go towards the archway on the right side of Entrance Hall.

5. In East Hallway go all the way to the right. On the next screen use 🧰Room Key on the door with three question marks. Enter it.

6. Examine the bookshelf in the upper left corner and choose to read the diary so as to unlock the True Ending later on and 🏆 5/21 now:

7.⚠️Exit the room and exit the screen to the left back. But beware: as you move along the East Hallway, you'll have to pass yet another QTE to survive.
8. Go back to Kitchen (Central Hallway, right door), exit to Backyard.

Backyard
1. Enter Barn, then the next room and climb down the ladder.

Basement 1F
1. Exit Crossroads to the bottom and in Passage go all the way left back to the cell with the crying girl.
2. Interact with the door for 🏆 6/21:

3. Pick up 💎 13/20 in front of you.
4. Go through the now open cell door and enter the archway at the top.
5. Proceed all the way left.
6. In Stairs to B2F exit the screen to the right.

➕Solve the looping passage

7. Hint: See if anything changes if you keep walking down the passage. Solution: To break the loop, exit the screen to the right two more times until the screen blinks on the third try and a figure appears in the corner. Interact with the figure and it starts to follow you so exit the room at the bottom and then walk along Corridor until the figure disappears at the third column. Proceed right.
8. As the woman, try to exit Mortuary at the bottom. Back as Aya, exit Corridor to the left back to the previously looping passage and exit it down the stairs to the right.

Part 3 (Basement 2F & Tunnels)
Basement 2F
1. Examine the large door at the top: it's locked.

2. Examine the switch to the right of the door: it's missing a lever.
3. Exit to the right.
4. In Mirror Room, stand by the far wall opposite the mirror and press the interaction button (without a prompt) to get 💎 14/20. Exit to the right.
5. In Passage, chainsaw ✨inside the barrel on the left and pick up 💎 15/20.
6. Go up and then follow the old man's prompt by walking through the wall to the right of him.
7. In Hidden Passage, enter the door at the top.
8. Examine the fragile crate by the left wall, chainsaw it and pick up ✨ to get Forceps.
9. Examine the red book on the table for 🏆 7/20:

10. Examine the jars on the shelves at the top for 🏆 8/20:
Snowballs
11. Exit through the door at the top right and move up a bit until you can see the top of the new room.

13. Go back to Laboratory and pick up 💎 16/20 from the now broken vat on the left.
14. Exit the room at the bottom and go back to Passage, this time exiting the screen to the bottom right.
15. In Toilets, chainsaw the wooden barricade at the entrance to the 4th stall, examine ✨ in the toilet bowl and choose to pick up the key but Aya will refuse.

16. Use 🧰Forceps on the toilet bowl for Aya to fish out Cell Key. Aya won't leave the room with it, tho, so interact with the sink and choose to wash the key from the toilet in it to get Cell Key added to your inventory.

17. Exit the room back to Passage and this time, go all the way up to enter Jail.
18. Towards the upper right wall you can see ✨ but to get to it you have to move the crates out of the way. Hint: You need to move only 5 crates. Solution:Click here to see the image >>
19. After moving the crates aside, pick up ✨ to get Handcuff Key.
20. Enter the middle of the closed cells and examine the swinging handcuffs.

22. Pick up 💎 17/20 left on the table.
23. Open the leftmost cell with 🧰Cell Key and enter.
24. SAVE before entering the hole in the cell because the next section can be tricky.

Tunnels
1.⚠️Exit Hidden Passage through the hole at the top.

2. Sneak around the room silently. If you fail at any point, you'll have to pass a QTE to survive and be sent back to the nearest checkpoint. Hint: Avoid any places that can make a noise. Solution:
Move up while avoiding the water puddles and the cracked floor, step onto the metal grate but don't go all the way up, otherwise the lamp will fall and give you away. Instead, immediately go left all the way on the metal grate and then up to cross to the other side. Turn left again and wait for the rat to go down and follow it all the way down, but avoid touching it. From there, just continue moving left, while ignoring the door with the red handle completely and navigating the water puddles and the cracked floor. Finally, enter the open doorway.
3. Move up to the dead end and examine the cracked floor. Fire up your chainsaw to make a noise and pass a QTE so that the killer doll breaks the floor for you. Examine ✨ in front of you to get Hand Lever.
4. Thankfully, you'll be teleported automatically to the start of Hidden Passage so exit at the bottom back to Jail.

Basement 2F
1. Go back to Hall with the locked door and the switch without a lever by exiting Jail at the bottom and going down and left in Passage, and left again in Mirror Room.
2. Use 🧰Hand Lever on the switch and interact with it.

3. Enter the now open door and interact with the lone figure in there if you want. Then exit at the top right.
4.⚠️Exit the room at the top left and go right but be ready to pass a lengthy QTE to survive.
5. After the scene interact with the figure on the floor if you want. Re-enter Cafeteria.
6. Examine the figure at the table.

7. Re-enter Kitchen, chainsaw the hanging meat and pick up Sausage. Don't take it to the hungry boy just yet, tho, because he won't eat it raw. Instead, use 🧰it on the lit stove above and choose to cook it. Interact with the sautéed sausage on the table and choose to carry it. Go back to Cafeteria and interact with the figure again. In return you'll get Napkin and 🏆 11/20:

8.⚠️Exit the room to Kitchen, go all the way right and try to open the barred door. Be ready because as soon as you walk back a little, you'll be chased: you have to run to the door again and mash the interaction button rapidly until it lets you through.
9. In T-Junction, interact with the lone figure if you want, then enter either door on the left or the right.

10. Hint: In order to solve this puzzle, you have to make both sides of the room identical. Solution:
  • On the right side, interact with the nun doll holding the spear to pick it up.
  • Carry it up to the armoured knight doll and interact with it to place the spear in its hand.
  • Push the armoured knight doll left against the wall by interacting with it from the right side.
  • On the left side, interact with the vase of flowers twice to get Bouquet, and then use 🧰it on the empty vase on the right to place the flowers inside.
  • Go through any of the arched doorways at the top to see a doll by the window, chainsaw it and interact with it to get Doll Head, go back to the previous room and use 🧰it on the headless body lying on the right table to reattach it.
  • On the right side, chainsaw the rightmost column to make a crack in it, stand in front of the middle one and interact with it.

11. Enter the now open door at the top.

12. Hint:In Archives, examine the book. In order to progress through Room of Memories you have to recreate the scenes decribed in the diary displayed on the right until the blue flame blocking your progress disappears and then examine the book at the top to enter the next stage. Solution:
  • 1st stage: interact with the newborn from the right side to push it towards the bed beside the mother.
  • 2nd stage: push the mother from the right side and then from the top all the way down until she disappears, then pick up two dead animals (a cat and a bird) and place them in the open drawer on the right.
  • 3rd stage: pick Kitchen Knife from the counter and use 🧰it on the standing boy and then use 🧰Napkin on the mother lying on the floor.
  • 4th stage: chainsaw the girl by the tree at the top.

13. Enter the now open door in Archives.
14. Proceed through the passage and down the stairs.

You should now have 17 💎and 11 🏆 in total.
Part 4 (Basement 3F & Tunnels)
Basement 3F
1. Descend the stairs for a scene.

➕Get back mom's perfume

2. Exit the room. The door on the right is locked. (SAVE by going back upstairs to Archive because the next stage can be tricky.)
3.⚠️Exit Corner Passage at the bottom right. Run all the way down and pick up ✨ to get Rusty Key. Immediately run back the way you came as the rats start attacking you.
4. (SAVE again as before: the next part can be tricky too.) Use 🧰Rusty Key on the door on the right and enter.
5.⚠️After a scene, examine the picture on the far wall for a hint about an achievement you can unlock later on. Interact with the violet-pink dress from the left side to push it to the right and chainsaw the planks you've uncovered to notice ✨. Examine it to get Mom's Perfume, but be ready: as soon as you do that, you'll have escape the room quickly.

6. Now you need to get through that passage crawling with rats from before. Hint: Recall what that trickster girl said about a certain object you've just retrieved. Solution: Use 🧰Mom's Perfume anywhere to spray yourself with it and the rats will leave you alone as you run down the passage.
7. In the next passage, enter the open archway on the right.
8. In Doll House, SAVE at the room with the coffin because the next part can be really tricky.
9.⚠️Be ready because as you walk all the way left to try to leave the room, you'll be attacked and have to run from the pursuer. If caught, you'll need to pass a short QTE but the attacker will still be there, so we have to clear our escape route.
10. Hint: Think of a place to hide. Solution: Open the gate to the room with the coffin and only then approach the killer doll. As it's chasing you, run back to that room and Aya will automatically close the gate.

11.⚠️SAVE just in case. It may seem as if we're trapped. Hint: No, we're not. Just look around you. Solution: Examine the coffin and choose to sleep in it. Doing that will move the coffin aside, revealing the stairs leading downstairs. Enter and proceed through the hidden passage all the way to the other side. In the next room there's ✨on the table. Pick it up to get Herbicide and then use 🧰it on the vine-covered gate to get rid of the vines. Be ready, tho: as soon as you open that gate, the killer doll will chase you again. Run back into the hidden passage and as soon as you can turn left, interact with the rusty robot in the corner to block the way. Quickly, exit the passage on the other side and run like hell towards the previously vine-covered gate to close it before the killer doll reaches it.

12. Exit Doll House at the upper right and in the next room try to open the door at the top for a scene. Examine the doll on the chair for another scene and Aya will automatically pick up Creepy Doll.

13. Exit the room and go back through Doll House to the passage from before. This time enter the archway on the far left.

Tunnels
1.⚠️Proceed through Entrance and then another passage with columns all the way left. (Do NOT press the down arrow at the broken railing or you'll have to pass a lengthy QTE.) SAVE as the next part can be tricky.

➕Avoid detection by killer dolls

2.⚠️You have to proceed through the following passages undetected by the patrolling dolls. If you fail at any point, you'll have to pass a short QTE to be sent to the nearest checkpoint. Hint: Before you act, observe their movement patterns, and navigate around their vision cones. Solution:
  • 1st passage: wait until the 1st doll moves all the way to the right and turns around, then quickly sneak around it; stop in front of the red window and wait for the 2nd doll to look away and then quickly move all the way left and up to the exit.
  • 2nd passage: wait for the fast moving doll to turn around and move away from you, then quickly enter the open archway a little ways ahead on the top; when it passes you again, quickly move out of the archway and run all the way right and up; but be ready: when you turn left and walk towards the 2nd red window, another fast moving doll will crash through it and chase after you so run back to the vertical corridor and only navigate around the doll as it stops in front of the 1st red window north of you.
  • 3rd passage: simply navigate counter-clockwise around the slowly rotating doll as it turns away from you but don't exit at the top left just yet and read below.


But wait! Before you exit the 3rd passage, you can get 💎 18/20 in the corridor south of the slowly rotating doll. Be ready, tho: as soon as you pick it up, the doll down there will turn around and you have to run quickly up to avoid its gaze.

3. SAVE just in case. Try to enter the door at the top for a scene. Enter.
4. Examine the figure on the floor and choose to pull out the instrument to get Scalpel and another scene.
5. The door at the top is locked so exit to the right. Examine ✨ on the tracks for yet another scene.

6. Exit to the right. SAVE in case you mess up the next section and exit to the right again.

➕Restrain the twin doll

7.⚠️You need to get rid of the patrolling doll. If you fail at any point, you'll have to pass a short QTE to survive. Hint: You can't chainsaw nor outrun it. Solution: Climb up the ladder, interact with the plank, choose to move it, then interact with the pile of sandbags and choose to move some of them too. Lastly, stand on the plank in front of the chandelier and wait for the doll to walk right under it and quickly chainsaw the rope.

8. Once the doll is mush, exit to the right twice (ignore both doors for now). At Dead End, examine ✨up the short flight of stairs to get Puzzle Piece.
9. Exit to the left and enter the door in the middle of the screen.
10. In Cultivation Room, examine the bookshelf on the left and diagram on it for hints about a puzzle later on. Then examine the barred door.

11. Examine the console on the right to be faced with a slider puzzle. Hint: Try to think ahead while trying to solve it. The picture is missing a tile, tho. Solution: Push the only tile you can in the following directions: down, right, up, left, down, down, right, right, up, up, left, left. You'll arrive at the almost complete picture, just missing one piece entirely. Push the Cancel button and choose to give up. Use 🧰Puzzle Piece on the console to complete the puzzle.

12.⚠️Enter through the now open door and go all the way up to examine the lone pot standing on the right. Do NOT uproot it or you'll die. Instead, choose to leave it be and then select to take the pot to get Potted Alraune.
13. Leave the room and exit to the left twice to SAVE because the next part can be tricky.
14.⚠️Go back to Dead End (exit to the right thrice) and up the short flight of stairs again but this time, stand under the mechanical arm and use 🧰Potted Alraune to leave it there. Interact with the console to the left but be ready: as soon as you do that, you'll have just a few seconds to escape.

15. The only safe place is Cultivation Room so quickly exit to the left and enter the door in the middle.

16. Go back to Dead End and use 🧰Scalpel on the incapacitated dog to get Incinerator Key.

You should now have 18 💎and 11 🏆 in total.
Part 5 (Tunnels, Basement 3F & Endings)
Tunnels
1. Interact with the moving plant-creature to get Bone and 🏆 12/21:

2. Go back to Cultivation Room and walk all the way up. You may notice ✨inside one of the plant-creatures in there. Chainsaw it and pick up 💎 19/20.
3.⚠️Exit the room and go all the way back to Incinerator Room, so all the way left. (Do NOT approach the door that's just opened as you walk through Passage unless you want a short QTE).
4. Use 🧰Incinerator Key on the door and enter.
5. Walk all the way up for a brief scene and then use 🧰Creepy Doll to toss it in the flames.

6. Now that the creepy doll's been taken care of, you need to get all the way back to Basement 3F Passage (exit at the bottom thrice, skip the part with the patrolling killer dolls, move all the way right along the dark passage with the columns and through the tunnel with the dead cat).

Basement 3F
1.Before we return to the door to Laboratory the creepy doll was guarding earlier, we need to make a quick detour to get the last gem and an achievement. In Basement 3F Passage go up and through the familiar rat-infested space and then enter the door on the left. Remember that picture of a dog with a bone in its mouth from earlier? Approach it and use Bone on it for 🏆 13/21:

Also, be sure to pick up 💎 20/20 in front of you.

2. Now go back to Basement 3F Passage and enter the archway on the right, proceed through Doll House and exit at the top right. Walk up towards the door for a scene.

POINT OF NO RETURN WARNING: Before you leap into the portal, make sure you've obtained all 20💎 and read Maria's diary back in the Mansion to be able to unlock all the endings and achievements associated with the last stretch of our journey. If you've missed any gems or haven't read Maria's diary, now it's your last chance to rectify that. By talking to the figure you can choose to be teleported all the way back to Aya's room in the Mansion. But assuming you've followed this guide closely enough so far, you should be all set.

3.⚠️SAVE and only then approach the portal and choose to jump into the other world.

Other World & Endings

✔️Leap into the other world

1. Go up along the newly created bridge to the other side and jump into another portal.
2. After a long scene you'll be presented with a choice that will determine which of the endings you're gonna get:
  • Choosing to grant mom's wish will lead to Bad End 1.
  • Choosing to save father will lead to either Bad End 2 or True End.

The choice is up to you but here's the recommended order that requires the least amount of repetition:

BAD END 1
1. Choose to grant mom's wish and simply watch the ensuing scene.
2. In Secret Room you can interact with the curtain if you want. Otherwise, exit the room at the bottom.
3. You don't need to save here. Just mash the interaction button repeatedly to exit at the bottom again.
4. Simply watch the scenes for 🏆 14/21:
Love Is Madness

BAD END 2
1. Load your save from before jumping into the other world and after the initial scene (that you can skip through) choose to save father and watch the ensuing events until you're back in control of Aya again.

2. SAVE now because the next part can be tricky and only then exit the room at the bottom and choose to proceed.
3.⚠️Be ready: after just a little bit, father will break through the door at the top wielding a chainsaw and give chase. Mash the interaction button repeatedly when prompted to escape and earn 🏆 15/21:
It's Playtime
4.⚠️In the next section, Aya will move automatically but you have to pass three short QTEs in order to survive. Failing at any of them will result in a Game Over.
5. After the scene, SAVE and only then proceed to the exit at the bottom right.
6.⚠️This time around, you have to escape from father personally. If he catches up to you at any point, you'll have to pass a very hard QTE. Start by running all the way down to exit to the next screen. Here, it gets even trickier: you need to not only avoid the chainsaw-wielding maniac but actually retrieve Mini Chainsaw to escape unscathed. In order to do that, run downwards to put some distance between you two and wait for him to stop and rev his chainsaw. As he does so, actually run up past him to get your own chainsaw from the crate in the top left corner. Do NOT try to use it on him, tho, just wait for him to stop and rev his chainsaw again, and run past him, making a beeline for the wooden barricade at the bottom to break it and escape. Timing can be really tricky here but you'll get past with enough practice.
7. After a short scene, exit the room at the bottom left.
8. SAVE just in case. In Mortuary examine the wooden barricade at the bottom but you can't break it since you no longer have your trusty chainsaw. Instead, interact with the table with the sheet in the middle of the left row to hide.
9. After yet another scene, SAVE and only then exit through the door at the top. Choose to ignore Maria and leave.
10. Exit the next screen to the right and run through the passage all the way right and then down.
11. Watch the ensuing scenes for 🏆 16/21:
Beauty Preserved

TRUE END
1. Load the previous save you made in Mortuary.
2. This time, instead of leaving the room, examine Maria.

3. Examine the bookshelf towards the top right corner to get Bandages. Use 🧰them on Maria. Note: You can help Maria ONLY if you've read her diary in Part 2, Mansion 1F (second visit), point 6 (required for Maria achievement).

4. With Maria in tow, leave the room at the top and then exit the next screen to the right and walk through the following passage like you did before.

That concludes our full playthrough in the Normal mode.
Blood Mode guide
The Blood Mode requires starting a separate playthrough that you can speedrun through without collecting any extra gems (they don't unlock anything new anyway: sad, but true). You don't need to actually finish it in order to unlock the associated achievement, tho I suggest that you do so for the full experience, as it were. Especially since it shouldn't take too long: the Blood Mode features only one ending that you'll be relatively close to when you've unlocked the said achievement.

In this mode, you play as a more mature version of Aya and despite some changes to the overall story, cutscenes, animations, CGs, QTEs or diaries it offers a VERY similar step-by-step progression to the Normal mode. So it would be redundant for me to repeat myself: if you hit a snag, please refer to the extensive five-part guide for the Normal mode above. I you finished the Normal mode before, however, it all should seem familiar to you, perhaps eerily so.

I'll only note the more impactful differences in terms of gameplay and/or progression below:
1. In the Mansion, Maria's room is open from the start and you don't need her key to unlock it.
2. To progress past the "looping passage" section of Basement 1F, you need to chainsaw the spot where the mute figure stood before: now she's invisible.
3. In Basement 2F Toilets, you don't need to use 🧰Tongs to retrieve the key from the toilet bowl but you still have to wash the key before leaving.
4. When you return to the hall outside the Laboratory in Basement 3F, make sure to check the plush chair in the middle (where you got the Creepy Doll) for an extra message that will net you 🏆 20/21:

Now it's up to you if you want to actually finish your playthrough or not. But again: I suggest that you do so regardless. You might as well since you're almost at the end, anyway. But no pressure :-)
IF Mode guide
The IF Mode is somewhat brief and offers no challenge and a rather linear progression. All you need to progress is follow the on-screen prompts, really, so I won't go into any more detail.

@CHristinie, it's been a good while since I last played this game but according to the guide I wrote first you need to gather ALL 3 materials that you need to make one, i.e. Wire, Firewood AND Cloth, and THEN playing as Aya you need to use one of them in the inventory to combine them into a torch than you can light afterwards. Hope that helps :-)
