Track Sorter

Description
Cleans up the track menu if many track types are installed. Sorts all standard gauge tracks by maximum speed and all narrow gauge tracks by gauge into the following categories:

- Vanilla tracks - the two track types from the game
- Speed restricted tracks - below 120 km/h*
- Standard tracks - 120 km/h to below
300 km/h*
- High-speed tracks - from 300 km/h*
- 600 mm tracks
- 750 mm tracks
- 760 mm tracks
- 1000 mm tracks
- 1067 mm tracks
- Miscellaneous - previously category-less narrow gauge and special tracks

*) default, changeable see below

Individual settings - SettingsSaver compatible!

If necessary, individual changes, including adjustments for special track types, can be entered in <mod ID*>/res/scripts/wkts_settings.lua. Only an editor, minimal scripting and knowledge of the file names and paths of the track types to be changed or the respective mods are required. To protect your settings against overwriting by later mod updates, the 'SettingsSaver' mod should be installed in addition. External 'Track Sorter' settings files can be imported into <mod ID*>/config/ and have priority over your own settings without destroying these or their backups.

*) On Steam it is '2669471304', otherwise 'wk_track_sorter_1' (without brackets, asterisk or quotation marks).

@DadoFlame: I think I've got it. I assumed that the Steam mod directory and the Steam backup directory are always subdirectories of C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\. In your case the mod directory is completely different because you use a SteamLibrary for the mods whereas the backup directory is where it should be. Maybe Steam has changed something or this has become a special option for Steam users. Now I have to think about an alternative method to find the backup path. I cannot say if it is possible at all because managing directories is very difficult in standard Lua. At this moment I recommend using the version from transportfever.net .

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Backups is present with 4 files in it:

2558585564_wktmr_settings.lua
2558586098_wkrts_settings.lua
2669471304_wkts_settings.lua
2891024142_wkjs_settings.lua

hope this was useful

If SettingsSaver is installed by Steam it uses the default Steam backup directory, Normally it's created automatically and should be there if not removed manually. It would be very helpful for me if you could tell me if there is a path like 'C:\Programme(x86)\Steam\Backups' because someone else had got a similar issue. Maybe something has been changed,

@wernerK I haven't set up any backup directory and I'm on windows 10. As you suggested I will try later with the transportfever.net settings saver or leave it out. thanks

@DadiFlame and all who have this issue: The issue is not with Track Sorter but with Settings Saver, and you don't seem to be the only one who has got this problem. I think either Steam has changed or removed their backup directory or Settings Saver doesn't find the correct path or you changed or removed the backup directory for yourself. It could also be that it's a consequence of UG's current update. We have to find out ... So please send me the correct path of your Steam/Backups directory. Which OS do you use? Windows? Linux? Mac?

As short-time fix I recommend to switch off Settings Saver or install it from transportfever.net . It also works but uses another backup location independent of Steam.
